AN EXPERIENCE NOT JUST A MEAL…read more This place is located in a kind of seedy downtown area of Macon. We walked in and the vibe throughout the place won me over instantly. When the staff seem to enjoy their jobs and working with each other as well, chances are you have a winner. We were seated immediately in a cozy booth with floor to ceiling graffiti. The place just oozed character! We were told that at times in the loft above our heads they had live music FYI. The waitress was friendly and on point. We never found ourselves waiting to order or for drinks, etc. The food was great. We started with the solid gold soul rolls which were tasty. I'd say 2-3 people for this app. My wife had the hot pig and fig which she enjoyed. She wanted something a little light and it was perfect for her. I ordered the Dr John Burger. The cook forgot my bacon . No bueno. Our waitress was game and was quick to bring me bacon to complete the burger. It was well cooked and the flavors were excellent so all was good. Our companion enjoyed her food as well. We all left full and happy. And, yes I would return and I recommend trying them yourself.

We started with the fried green tomatoes, which were a great appetizer--crispy, flavorful, and a nice way to kick things off. For our entrées, we had the fish and chips and the smoked turkey sandwich. The fish had a nice crispy batter, and the smoked turkey sandwich was tasty and satisfying. My only disappointment was the fries. They were a bit soggy and lacked the crispiness I was hoping for, especially with the fish and chips. A crisp, hot fry would have taken the meal to the next level. Overall, the food was good, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

My husband and I kicked off the new year with a resolution to try restaurants we've never been to…read morein Middle Georgia, and 3rd & Cherry confidently strutted its way to the top of the list. Located in Downtown Macon, parking is available via street parking. Finding a close spot on the weekend is like winning the Mega Million, possible, but don't count on it. We lucked up on this night and found a spot directly across from the restaurant. As we made our way to the entrance, we were unexpectedly greeted by a woman passionately yelling obscenities at us. Nothing like a little downtown ambiance to set the mood. Thankfully, the heavy police presence on every corner made me feel safe enough to proceed to the restaurant. Once inside, the chaos faded instantly. We were welcomed by a gregarious and friendly staff, informed them of our reservation, and were seated immediately. On this particular Saturday, they weren't overly busy, so we even had the luxury of choosing which booth best suited our comfort level. The atmosphere is intimate and upscale without being stuffy. Think dim lighting, elegant music, exposed ceilings, and décor that says "rustic charm" but also "yes, this entrée will cost more than $30." Our waiter was professional, attentive, and genuinely pleasant, the kind of service that makes you relax and stop checking the time. We started with cocktails: I ordered the strawberry lemon drop martini, and my husband opted for an old fashioned. Both were well-crafted, smooth, and strong enough to make us forget about the crazy lady outside. For appetizers, we each ordered the crab cake. You get one small crab cake, but it was tasty and respectable by Middle Georgia standards. Entrées are à la carte, so order accordingly. I ordered the Chilean sea bass with Brussels sprouts and spinach, while my husband chose the salmon with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Both fish dishes were cooked perfectly and tasted fresh, with sauces that paired beautifully. The Brussels sprouts were crispy, flavorful, and addictive. My husband said his mashed potatoes were possibly the creamiest he's ever had. All of the food was outstanding. Dessert options include their 3rd & Cherry cobbler, cheesecake, and crème brûlée. Heads up: desserts are made to order and take about 20 minutes. Translation, order dessert early unless you're prepared to sit there long enough to contemplate life choices. The restaurant and restrooms were clean, which always earns bonus points. Overall, we had a lovely experience at 3rd & Cherry. It's an excellent choice for a special occasion, date night, or anytime you want to feel a little fancy without leaving Middle Georgia. We'll definitely be back.

Finally, the "owner" rushed up to seat us. Pleasant fellow, good personality and pleasant to talk to. Apologized and we moved on. The restaurant is almost cut in half with seating on both sides of door. Plenty of metered parking (free after 8pm). Luckily, we were sat in a cozy booth near the windows but we did have a reservation. The other side was more tables and less date worthy. Bathrooms need a bit of a touch up. We ordered the crab cake and caprese to start. Average crab cake too much filler, this is a pass. The caprese however was amazing. Healthy tomato's and a fresh burrata topped with balsamic. Very good, a definite reorder. For mains, I had the fried red snapper with Parmesan risotto this comes with tostones and a dipping sauce. Large fish, nicely seasoned yet a bit over cooked to the point of being dry. Hubby had the full pork loin chop with a side of mashed potatoes. This came with a fresh chimichura sauce and tostones as well. We were celebrating a birthday (on the reservation) so we ordered the hot chocolate cake. Pretty standard. I really think these are now mass made and ordered through food delivery. It was good but can get in multiple restaurants these days. Good vanilla ice cream. Service, now this is where they easily lose a star. Half hearted, disappearing, not engaged with a touch of attitude. They weren't busy, it wasn't late. We were in great moods. Who knows. While we will visit again when in Macon, we cannot have her again.

A funky name to be sure. But, awesome food!…read more In going with a friend to a Hearing Test appointment, we decided to stop here for lunch. And, despite opening later than listed (11:10/15 vs 11:00), the food was worth waiting for. Now, my friend had planned on getting the Tamale plate, but they had taken it off the menu, as the person who made them, passed away. :-( So, we both ordered a traditional Cuban sandwich! And, I must say, it's the best Cuban sandwich that I've ever had (10 Stars)!! And, a first where they used chopped beef. I also ordered to go, Carnitas - Cuban style for tonight's dinner. But , they didn't open as posted, are no longer serving Tamales (though, a large order {2-3 dozen} can be placed 2 weeks ahead of the needed time), and the Chips and Salsa are ala cart. Even though we had to wait, a waitress was kind enough to step around the corner to let us know that they were open. And, the owner chatted with us for several minutes. Cuban style Pork Carnitas, with Rice, Cuban Black Beans, Fried Plantains, and Cooked Yucca Dinner: WOW!!! Though, I still had had the Cooked Yucca, everything was excellent! The only way it could have been better, is to have some Cuban bread. While I don't know when I'll be able to get here again, I definitely want to try their other dishes.
