Underwhelmed with my experience, not sure I'd go back. Wish I'd read the Yelp reviews first, the critiques are true. Honestly if you have average sized boobs and no particularly unique boulder-holder needs, you're better off going bra shopping at the mall. Booked a bra fitting. The fitting by Dawn herself was nothing special. She didn't size me any differently than what I thought was a good size. Neither did she take measurements (probably pointless cuz even 'high end' bras vary) or ask about preferences or lifestyle. She did exactly what any kid working at La Senza or Victoria's Secret would do, bring a bunch of different bras to try in my size range. No great insights were offered as to what style might suit my body shape. Lots of offers to alter bras that don't fit well... why? I mostly spent a lot of time standing in a change room awkwardly in a state of half undress waiting for bra straps to be adjusted. At least at another store I could just go out and help myself instead of standing around waiting while Dawn assisted others, went for a smoke etc. I have only one concern, a latex allergy. The first bras Dawn brought were heavily laced, not really my style but also prone to containing latex. As I stood awkwardly waiting in these "size tester" bras, I could feel the telltale allergy itch starting. I told her right away and to my surprise, Dawn did not know which of her bras might have latex. Sure, neither would the girl at the mall store, but this is ostensibly a speciality shop serving individuals with special requirements. Latex allergy is not uncommon at all. Disappointing. And yes, I got a rash from that bra, fun. Guess the girls are taking the rest off the day off! The store itself just feels cold and unfriendly. For bra fittings, one must wear a mask. I totally get it, small space etc, but at the same time, is Dawn washing her hands between each customer? After she comes back from smoking? During my visit, she was fitting three people at one time, going room to room poking at underwires and armpits. Does she take the same level of precaution with hand cleanliness, which is just as (if not more) important as respiratory hygiene? It wouldn't bother me as much save for the literal plastic sheet curtain all the way around the front counter, which makes the place feel like an iso room or the back room of a butcher. Totally pretentious and unnecessary, and just performative at this point. Meh. Expensive bras. We'll see if the two I bought ($175) are any more special than those I would buy from a chain store. I have been going to Dawn's Bratique for many years now because they have a great product but their customer service has always lacked. I purchased two bra's on October 4th, one was a new color and I was advised I would have to wait 2 - 3 weeks for it to come in. Two MONTHS later I call asking where it is. I was then told as it was a new color it would take longer to arrive. Funny enough, 2 weeks after calling the bra came in. I asked Dawn if she could simply mail it to me as I had waited so long and her store hours are odd. Absolutely not, I would be charged the $14 for the mailing envelope. After 18 years I am so done with this store and will not be back. A little customer service goes a long ways ladies. read more

I was in dire need of new bra's. During Covid, I had (gasp) bought sports bras on the internet. I went back to Dawn's Bra-tique last week. It was just as I remembered. I was escorted into a changing room and was given a bra to try on. The bra was checked for the proper fit, and a new bra in a different size as brought and checked. Once we had a bra that fit well and I was sized, it was onto finding the specialty bras I was looking for. I tried T-Shirt, sports bras and regular bras. At the end of my appointment, I left the store with three bras that all fit perfectly and met my needs. I couldn't be happier. From the friendly greeting to the bra fitting to the bras themselves, overall a great experience. I'll never buy bras on the internet again!! read more

Once again I am ecstatic about my whole experience at Dawn's Bra Tique. First of all there is no where in the city you will get a better fitting. Hands down the best custom fit you can find. And Dawn and the staff are incredible beatiful people. Appointments book up fast so make sure you give yourself enough time if you need something for a special occasion. I always go with the intent to buy at least 3 bras to make it worth it! And its not your typical bra store where you can browse, make sure you have thought about what your needs are and what your budget is and all the fun stuff like what color, what patterns you like, what fabric. Everytime I tell Dawn my wish list I end up leaving with something I love more than I could have imagined. And also make sure you leave enough time for the tailoring, this is what makes it yours truly. read more

I have been a customer at Dawn's Bra-tique since 2004. What an amazing experience each and every visit. You have two options; book an appointment (so you don't have to wait but there are only a few spots available each day) or drop-in. I appreciate this because you never know if you will be in the neighborhood and if they only did appointments this place has the potential to get booked up very quickly. Since my last visit they have moved (now located just north of Jasper ave near Earl's). The new location is great! They have completely renovated the space so it is perfectly suited for their needs. The premise is still the same - you go in and then are placed in your own fitting room. They bring you a bra to try (just for sizing) and then for the rest of the appointment you are assigned a fitter who works hard to ensure you find exactly what you want. The service is remarkable. This is not your normal bra shop - meaning you don't get to peruse the racks and see all the styles available. Rather you have to tell your fitter what you are looking for (like black lace, or bright spring colors) and then they bring you a selection to pick from. I like this approach as you don't have to be overwhelmed with all the different options or worry if they are available in your size as you are only shown what will work for your body type. The best part about this store is the service and selection - because they are a custom bra shop they order combination of cup and band sizes that most stores don't offer. Then they will tailor the bra (usually at no additional cost) to fit you exactly (like move the straps in or tighten the band). I have a relatively normal bra size however still use Dawn's because of the outstanding service and quality products. I don't think I would shop for a bra any other way! read more

Made an appointment to get a fitting. I showed up on time and still had to wait, although a young bride-to-be who had the next appointment showed up early and they took her first. Finally the appointment began with a measurement and then the waiting began. I was brought two choices to try and when neither was great, got a fair amount of attitude that somehow I was making this difficult. So my salesperson leaves for a long time. A different staff member comes in and tells me that I need to switch dressing rooms because the next appointment had arrived and she wanted that particular dressing room. (Really, do people actually request a specific dressing room?) I was shuffled to a much smaller space and continued to wait for the return of my salesperson, who I can hear is butting into the appointment with the bridal client. Finally, I have two more choices, one of which is OK. I am told my time is up and if I want to try on more, I would have to make another appointment. Meanwhile, I can see, 6 more options are being taken into the bridal client, whose appointment was longer than mine at this point. I did purchase two bras that day for well over $250, but will never return. read more

I was treated with such dignity and kindness as I was being fitted for a surgical bra. The staff truly was knowledgeable and so empathetic! I was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable price and can't wait until the time I am able to wear something pretty. I will definitely be back for their help and support! Thank you ladies! Dawn, the owner, was the rudest person I think I have met in my life. I was planning my wedding and needed wedding lingerie. Well, I did the right thing. I went in early, brought my bridal dress. Tried on SO MANY things. I found one I loved, but it just was not quite the right color. Dawn, told me they would order in in for my in the right color. WELL......when the order come in, it was a completely different corset. I had already paid and they REFUSED to refund me even though it was their mistake. Best part......it would NOT work with my dress. It stuck out and you could see it in many different places. DAWN's Suggestion.....alter the lingerie. $100's later I had a corset that did not fit, dug in to my side, and looked awful. They did NOTHING, would not even give me SOME money back. read more

Not recommending this store to anyone. The bra that I purchased a couple months ago for a ridiculous amount of money has already stretched out and has the underwire poking out of the armpit. I am shocked by the reviews I see here. I have been going to Dawn's for over twenty years, before and after a breast reduction, I now can find bras that work at the mall, but they are all cheap crap. Dawn however carries high QUALITY stuff that I have not found anywhere else. I have three daughters all of them have been raised in bras from Dawns! My youngest is a size that she could get a bra ANY where but I willing pay the higher prices at Dawns because if you follow the care instructions these bras do last some have lasted years... and when they do stretch out the shop will alter them to give more life to them! For a small fee. (this is also great if you are on a weight loss journey! ) In all my time going to Dawn's I have NEVER seen a tape measure in the shop, so any review that claims they were measured is an out right lie! I have always found Dawn and her staff to be friendly, but not suck ups desperate for a sale, instead they are honest with you. I fear the day Dawn retires because I have no clue what I will do then! read more

I have been to Dawn's Bra-Tique twice and I can't say that I am impressed. I didn't have an appointment however I didn't think it would be too long of a wait since there were 4 girls at the counter just chatting away. I waited 30 mins before gettting put into a fitting room. The girl asked me what I was looking for and what size I was. I told her very precisely what I wanted- a nude strapless/convertable bra with molding- no soft cup, no Marie Jo (I dislike the brand) in a 32DD. Well she brought me a 32F in a soft cup, marie jo brand!!! I almost lost it. I had to repeat myself 5 times before they understood what I wanted. I was a little in a rush and they just seemed to be taking their time getting me bras. Finally they brought me a few bras however only 1 fit and it was convertible and nude, but not strapless. I bought it anyways, since I was in dire need of a nude bra and had been searching for a while. They have good bras generally, a little pricey but why I am not given this place a good review is because the lack of respect towards me. I told them my bra sizes in the variety of brands they carry and told them even what brands and cuts I like. I was very specific in my request and they outright dismissed this. I have worked in the lingerie and clothing industry- if the customer wants something, you do your best to help them in a timely fashion. Instead I walked out an hour and a quarter later, without the bra I desired, and quite upset. I am also upset that I cannot browse through the selection of bras- I am the only one who truely knows what I want. I may have seen something else that I would have liked to try on. Instead, I was trying on bras that I would never had chosen for myself. Would I go again? This would be the last place I look and only if I were in dire need again for a bra. read more

Dawn's was the first special bra shop in Edmonton to give custom fitting. It's the belief of shops like this that most women where the wrong size of bra and don't know how to wear them right. At the Bra-tique you have a custom fitting, and then a sales girl brings you a selection of top quality, often designer bras, to try on. They show you how to adjust the straps for a proper fitting, and their showroom has lots of beautiful samples to look at. Most bras here have matching panties, which can make for a very expensive shopping trip. It would be easy to drop hundreds of dollars here and walk out with only a small shopping bag. read more

I went in to the boutique as a walk-in around midday, as when I phoned (twice) nobody picked up, so I could not schedule an appointment. I was told the wait would be about half an hour, and the appointment itself around 45 minutes, so I waited. They took me in after 20 minutes (which got my hopes up)... and then I waited some more. When the fitter (Dawn, I assume? She never even introduced herself or said hello, just "Did she give you one to try?") arrived, she was very brusque. After checking the fit, it took around ten minutes to bring me other bras to try on. This continued for about an hour and a half, making me so late for my next class that there was no point in going. Not only that, but while I was waiting, I could hear her gossiping with her friends who had come in to be fit for bras they would wear on the boutique's Breakfast Television slot a couple days later. The bra that ended up fitting best was still only a decent fit, and they did not have the colour I would have wanted in stock, so it would have to be ordered and then I would have to come in again for alterations fitting and then wait for alterations... for $115. Not worth it for me. When I told her I was still looking around and could I call them to order it if I decided it was best, I got the impression that she felt I had wasted her time. So, overall... if you're rich, have a ton of time on your hands, and don't mind being treated like a credit card in a bra, this is the place for you. I went there to find a bra for an evening dress. I found the bras to be very high quality and in all sizes possible. I liked that they measured me professionally and gave me a very good bra. Yet, the store is super expensive, so once I got the right size I ordered new bras on ebay for a third of the price (same brand names). I was also quite annoyed with the service. I had Dawn herself, who was the only person doing fittings that day. There was another lady who needed a bra for a wedding, so Dawn spent most of the time with her, while leaving me in the change room for long periods of time. Horrible experience!! Would NOT recommend. I had called to make sure they had my size (very small band and very large cup size. Only select stores carry my size.) I spoke to someone who assured me they had my size in many styles. Well I dragged my toddler across the city (45 min drive) and it was hours until closing time and they refuses to see me. I didn't need a fitting, and knew specifically what I wanted but they completely refused and were extremely rude about it. There were lots of girls standing around, and they claimed they only had one fitter and the other girls had "other" jobs to do. I told her that she should have informed me of that when I called, and she said they can't give the whole speech every time someone calls. Maybe when someone calls and asks specific questions and says they are heading down the staff should say, "just so you know we won't serve you if you come down. We are not a typical bra store and have nothing you can actually look at.". I have never left a store so furious in my life. I hope the owner of this store reads this review and realises that her staff and policies are losing her customers. I have went to a bra store in st Albert (midnight magic apparel i think) and I will be going back to st Albert. The staff in st Albert were extremely helpful. Go there instead of to dawns store. The only way I will be setting foot in dawns store again will be to try on specific styles of bras and then purchase them ONLINE for HALF price when I know that they work for me. While in Dawn's establishment today I overheard the word "bitch" coming from somewhere in the shop, repeated several times. When I brought this to the staff's attention I was treated with anger apparently for reporting it, and being upset about hearing that. I was told there was a senior in the stall next to me. I don't know if this was supposed to be an excuse, or an explanation. .For me, nearing 70, it was neither. I will not shop at this establishment again. I am a woman, and I will not spend my money where I can overhear women called bitches and have management dismiss and chastize *me* for repeating what I heard. I received no apology. Took my daughter several times to get fitted due her stature, she is a hard fit and I thought that they could help. Well as mentioned in other reviews, they are VERY slow, regardless if you need an appointment, waiting at the desk, waiting in the fitting, waiting even more while they are getting tailored they move at the speed of tree (reference lord of the rings). NOTHING gets done fast here, if your ok with that, fill your boots. The last time my daughter went to pick up her "tailored " bra, she said that it appeared they did not even tailored them. Apparently she was getting quite of bit of flack about it from the fitter. My daughter then wanted her previous bra adjusted as it was still did not fit right. My daughter had it with her and they refused to accept it due to concerns about not being freshly laundered enough for them......My daughters experience is that the shop typically clean and repair , they offer none of that. I was so excited...imagine 40 years old and never had a bra fitting. Well sadly it may be my last. I was not treated as nicely or offered as wide of a variety as the very well dressed lady in the next room. I admit..it was my day off..I wore jeans and a ball cap and of coarse my Jack Daniels hoodie! I did not feel that meant I could not afford the more expensive bras, or that I did not deserve the same perky and helpful service my much better dressed counter-part was getting. I work in construction..but almost left in tears. Being treated worse than others can only be magnified when it is done to you while you are in your underwear. read more

Be aware that Dawn's Bra-Tique will happily take their merchandise back, but you won't see your money again unless it is in the form of store credit. This policy is listed on their invoice, but by then you have already paid for it. So unless you ask, you are screwed. They're not about to tell you until they already have your money. Since I'm moving to another province in a few weeks, I won't have the opportunity to use my store credit unless I go out of my way in the midst of moving and preparing for exams. I am left with a bad taste in my mouth after my experience at Dawn's Bra-Tique. Very disappointed. read more

I wentin on a Wednesday afternoon to see about a. Ra fitting. I did not realize that I would need an appointment. I have been to specialty shops in Toronto that do not require an appointment, and assumed it would be the same here. I was with a friend, and we were told to return in an hour. We waited the hour, and when my friend was called I was surprised that I was not. Clearly it was a mis understanding that both of us were looking for fittings at the same time. I waited for my name to be called, but 30 minutes later, and after two other ladies were called for fittings, I texted my friend and told her about the situation. I told her not to buy anything and she told me not to worry; they did not have anything in her size anyway! Shocking after they boasted over 500 bras in a wide range of sizes. I would not recommend this "Bra-Tique" to anyone, unless you do not value your time. read more

I had heard great things about Dawn's Bratique so I made it a point to go out of my way to go as I have a bust size that is very difficult to fit. They have a very neat way of bra shopping! I was escorted into a fitting room and told to try on a bra then someone would be in to see how it fits and grab me some more to try on. I ended up waiting for about 10 minutes in the change room before someone came in to talk to me. She took a look and with out even asking what I was looking for, leaves to get me another bra, told me to try it on, left and said she would be back. She was... about 10 minutes later. By this time I had been there for 20 minutes and only tried on 2 bras and spent most of the time waiting in the cold fitting room. I ended up leaving because I had better things to do then stand in a fitting room all day... I will NOT be back here. read more

I went here because someone told me it was the best for custom bra fittings. I have had a mastectomy, and they do say that they fit for that type of thing. I did not enjoy the experience at all. I was told several times the bras had to be "altered" and I was never comfortable at all. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE HAD BREAST SURGERY!!! I went in just to see if they had a specific bra (I knew the brand, size and colour as I had found it elsewhere but they did not have the colour I wanted in stock) and was told that both of the fitters were on lunch, and that I would have to wait or come back later. I said that I didn't need a fitting, I just wanted to know if they had that particular bra in stock. The girl told me that she did not have access to the stock room, and couldn't tell me. Reiterated that the fitters were both out of the store (why would they both go at the same time anyway during regular business hours?). Didn't bother going back. read more

It was the worst experience I've had in customer service! I live out of the city 3 hours so I called when they opened to make sure they were open and I could get in. The girl on the phone said "if you come before 3:30pm that would be the best time" I said "I am almost in the city I will be there right away". Literally showed up 45 mins later (11am) and she turned me away. She told me that they couldn't do it until 4pm. There was no body in the store. I asked if there was anywhere else to go because I drove 3 hours to come here and she was super snotty about it and didn't help me out at all. Terrible customer service! My mom and I have shopped at Night Owl for a few years and wanted to try something new. We were given different info by several people - some said you must make an appointment at Dawn's, others said it wasn't necessary. I phoned this morning to ask whether we could simply come in and shop. Since both my mom and I have already been fitted professionally, we did not require that service - simply wanted to buy a couple of bras. I was told that the morning was fully booked with appointments, that we would have to wait, that we would have to go one at a time when we finally did get helped, and that "No, you may not browse the shop. A sales assistant must bring you the product to the dressing room after your fitting." I explained that we did not need fittings, and was told that we still were not allowed to shop on our own. It's nice to provide personalized service to those who need it, but to forbid those who don't from looking around the shop at their leisure seems exclusive and unwelcoming. We went to Les Saisons in West Edmonton Mall instead, where we did NOT need an appointment, we had absolutely excellent service and many beautiful bras were even on sale and accessible to customers to take off racks into fitting rooms. They had a fantastic selection of gorgeous, high-end lingerie. We felt welcome and were treated with respect and a down-to-Earth manner. I would not recommend Dawn's. Other shops in town offer professional fitting and excellent service without making you book an appointment. read more

I've been going to this place since I was 17. As it's the only place that has been able to fit me properly. My waist is always too small but my cups are huge and I always need the band to be taken in as no bra lines carry something like a 30 H or a 32 JJ. This isn't a place like VS or whatever, when you just walk in and pick one. They are fitting a bra to your body, and making sure it's functional and correct. They always tailor it for me and I never have wanted to come home and tear off my bras because they hurt me (other than having big boobs hurt). They have always been helpful, giving me information on how to care best for them. They also helped me out when I asked if it was possible to have my tailoring done earlier before a trip as I my old bra was really worn down they helped me out and pushed it up earlier. I recommend this place to everyone, even small boob girls because I finally understood what a proper bra was after getting one here and every girl should have that. The summary of this place is that if you want something done properly, it's not rushed. Don't be put off by the bad reviews, as I think it's one of those situations where the odd people who have a bad experiences are more likely to post than us who enjoy this place. I GENUINELY don't know what the heck I would do or where I would go if Dawn's went out of business. Having breasts like mine are really debilitating and it's been a very long wait for a reduction, but this place has helped me save my back and shoulders as much as possible until it finally happens. read more

They wasted my time... I called them to get the address and told them I needed a bra fitting and wanted to buy some bras. I told them I would be down in a half hour and they said "sure, see you then". I get there (12:20pm) and they say " all the rooms are full, can you come back at two". I told them I had called a half hour ago and was told to come down. I said " no, I can't come back at two". I just spent a half hour to get there and now had to drive back home a half hour. I thought they were very unprofessional and that maybe they should inform potential customer of how things work to avoid people getting pissed off. They could have checked if they had rooms open and told me it would be better to make an appointment. Heard they are a rip off anyways so maybe it was for the best. I was so mad that I had to call them after I left. I did tell the lady to have a good day and hung up on her. Not coming back at 2 or ever. This is a great store. I went here out of desperation needing a good supportive bra during my pregnancy. Dawn and her staff are friendly and helpful and their bras are reasonably priced. I purchased 2 beautiful bras for $72 each, this included taxes and alterations to the bras. I am so happy I found this place. I'm from northern Alberta. Since puberty I've been struggling with bra shopping; I am a petite frame and large chested. Some ladies back home suggested Dawn's and it was a huge relief - I was tired of adult stores escorted by my mother at 17 just to find something/anything. The first two times I went in were like heaven - also having the seamstress was help full. The honeymoon period was over quickly. I even did the book an appointment's found this difficult as I was a student in an intense program and now work in a demanding industry..I found time to schedule appointments and come early.. The third last time I went it didn't go great I was treated like dirt for not supporting her petition regarding her stance on tenant not receiving compensation for the LRT Expansion. I explained that I could not sign the petition as I didn't have all the information regarding her tenancy agreement and how her fit-out costs were to be compensated for in a case like this. I support local businesses but this was a different matter. I fully believe in the "think global buy local" - macro/micro economics. But her choice to fit-out the lease space beyond what was provided at her cost Is not something that the City is responsible for or myself as a paying customer should have to receive grief over. The last time I was in I left over an hour after my appointment had stated in tears, trying to be comforted by another customer without any of the garments I had come in for. I have never felt so ashamed to be a woman of my shape and be essentially me. I was put into my room a good deal of time had passed before someone had even come to see me. It was to see if I could move rooms- I wasn't even asked politely..I was told I was being moved to a nicer room for better light. I told the girl I was fine then she told me an lady with mobility issues had come in - don't B.S. me..I get enough of that everywhere else when I'm standing there topless I take it even less kindly. So I moved. About a half hour later I finally got help. The girl must have needed her sinuses drained as she was hearing me but it just was not sinking in. I have breasts they need support - tissue I can get from Kleenex. I came in for three things a sports bra an every day bra and a slip. She thought I wanted a bra to wear to attract a man. She left another half hour later I walked out of the dressing room and was asked where I was going. I told the staff I didn't have time to be treated this badly. I got a response of how dare pond scum walk into their high end establishment. I know many women who need the services they offer so I tell them that they have a selection that is the widest in the city but I warn them that you pretty much have to go in there with tough skin and almost distract them and go through the racks yourself. Save the 20$ or so you save on the in house seamstress. Self respect/worth is much more valuable. Ive gone into stores where I've argued with the sales ladies that didn't believe me about my size and grope me, have had male construction workers walk past me as I've been topless, have had a 22 year old guy try and sell me a sports bra, have heard/seen things I never thought I would In adult stores, but Dawns Is truly something else. read more

Very poor customer service. This place has gone downhill. I have been a customer for years and knew Dawn from her first store. At that time she was helpful and efficient. However, my last experience was terrible. I had made an appt. and was seen by an associate with limited experience. She showed me many bras, but all did not fit properly. As with other reviewers I was made to feel it was my fault. The app took over an hour so I finally bought a $115 bra which I did not like. They called me weeks later about a style that had come in (even though they told me I'd have to purchase in advance to see an alternate style). So their call to me was a mistake but because I felt I hadn't been shown any bras to my liking I politely asked to speak to Dawn. This is the first time I've ever complained about my purchase. She came on the phone immediately on the defensive. She was totally unprofessional, countering my statements in a challenging way. Had she been polite and a savy businesswoman she probably could have convinced me to come into the store and I probably would have bought another bra. But it was clear that they do not stand behind their products and that customer services is not a priority for them. I will not be returning. read more

I drove 2 hours to visit this store, with a friend who has shopped there many times. The friend was savvy enough to book us an appointment, which is certainly recommended, especially for a first time visitor. I have never tried on so many bras in my life. What I have been wearing turns out to not only be a very poor style (no support) it is also 3 cup sizes too small. I can't believe how much better I look with the new ones. They are being customized (altered a bit) to ensure exactly proper fit. And yes, they were very expensive compared to what I had been wearing. I get very jealous of my friend who can just pop into any store and come out with these lacy/sheer/stringy things she calls bras that fit her perfectly... I am quite the opposite. My bra purchase has to be thought out and deliberate and is generally (and unfortunately) expensive. I've been to several bra boutiques in the past. I am very "well-blessed" when it comes to bra size, so I can't go just anywhere to find a bra. It has to be sized and it is usually expensive. My bra shop of choice in the past has been Secrets from your Sister in Toronto, which is similar to Dawn's in that you make an appointment (or walk in and wait) and they give you one or two choices in the fitting room after sizing you and then you go from there. The bras I've gotten from Secrets were fine... they mostly fit, but were very uncomfortable and dug into my arms and the skin on my sides. Sometimes my skin would be rubbed raw from the elastic, and I would sometimes develop sore spots where the wire would dig into me. It sounds like a slow torture (and it was) but if you're a big girl then sometimes you have to take what you can get... at least that's what I thought. While I always bought from Secrets (I kind of had to as I wasn't from Ontario and could only get there once a year at most, and it was either buy then and there or do without!), I was never completely satisfied with the purchase. My experience with Dawns in this regard is completely different. I didn't have an appointment so they told me what time to come back for a fitting. They had me fill out a profile and showed me to a dressing room where I was sized and tried on 2 bras (different brands). Yes, it did take a little while with the sizing and all that because I wasn't the only customer in the store and the person doing the sizing was the owner herself and she was basically the only person helping all the customers (other than the girl at the front desk). I get very emotional when I'm shopping for clothes and such, because most of the time they don't fit. I am easily frustrated because I expect to be much smaller than I am and when things don't fit I realize how large I must be and I realize how I must look to everybody else. My body image doesn't exactly match with reality, and I never really realize this until I go clothes shopping. While I was trying on bras at Dawns, the first two didn't fit, even though I'd been sized and all that. At one point I started tearing up and told the her how difficult it was for me to find something that fit. She assured me that she would have plenty for me but that it is always trial and error at first. Then she brought in the bras... they were in pretty much every color of the rainbow... red, navy, baby blue, violet, lavender, green, etc. I looked at the lady with dread in my eyes because nothing like that had ever fit me before and I was sure the appointment was going to turn into a torture session with me winding up loathing myself at the end and walking out empty handed. I couldn't have been more wrong. I took my time (over an hour) and must have tried on 10 different bras. I purchased 5 bras that day, most of which were in the $80-90 price range which is actually pretty cheap for me. The most expensive was a print (YES! I said a PRINT bra, available in sizes bigger than a D-cup!) and was $120. Dawn's had a very large variety of styles and colors for me, even though I am such a big size contrary to most stores who operate under either the "order it in and hope it fits" policy, or carry-everything-in-only-beige-or-black policy. Before going to Dawn's I didn't even know that they made bras in my size in different colors! What really put Dawn's Bra-Tique over the divider from good to great was that they offered free custom tailoring! I had 4 tailored and wore one out (-- I was in pretty desperate need for a new bra after finishing breastfeeding my baby and really needed something with an underwire). Dawn mailed my bras to me when they were finished (--I don't live in Edmonton) and they fit like a glove! I will be sending the 5th back to her for tailoring this weekend. I had a really great experience at Dawn's. I think those women who had bad experiences here probably aren't used to having to go to a place like this to get their bras, and they probably aren't used to having to pay these kind of prices. This isn't Sears, or Wal-mart after all. But, let me tell you, Dawn's custom tailored bras don't dig into me, the underwires are where they are supposed to be, the elastic doesn't rub my skin raw, and I barely notice that I am wearing them... seriously! I love Dawn and her Bra-tique, and I would definately go back there and send all my friends there too! Every woman deserves to have a bra that fits-- especially one that is a custom fit. read more

I wish I had read these reviews first to save myself a couple of hours. I made a special trip down to find out that they have NOTHING to looks at in the store. I was told they could give me a "walk-in" appointment if I waited 20 minutes. I sat around for 30 minutes looking at lame bra adds (with photo-shopped sexualized women) because there was nothing else to do. When I finally was told to go into a change room they asked what bra size I usually wear instead of doing a proper measurement. A lady returned with a bra and told me to put it on and then leave the door open a crack so they would know when I was ready for them to come and fit me. I then changed into the bra and left the door open like she had said. They left me in there for 15 minutes in an air conditioned room. After 15 minutes I then changed back into my clothes to leave rather upset. I'm assuming it was the owner (because her name was Dawn) who then came to say she was ready for me but I had already changed. Apparently she knew I was there but was on her "lunch break" and then had a few things to take care of while I stood in a bra in her cold change room for over 15 minutes!!! Not to mention the whole time while listening to a shitty radio station that was on in the back. I had gone in looking for something very specific and no one even asked me what I may be looking for. I was squeezing myself into a DD for several years before a friend talked me into going to Dawn's, where I was fitted with a G cup. It wasn't until halfway through the day wearing a proper bra that I realized I'd had a headache for years, and now it was gone! Getting a proper bra fitting is something that you will never regret, and Dawn's has incredible staff, a comfortable atmosphere, and great selection. You may pay more for a bra than you would at Walmart, but it's worth it, and bras I've had for 5 years still look brand new. I recommend Dawn's to everyone! Also, I you change size or the bra stretches while you own it, they'll alter it for you. read more

I love the bras at Dawn's bratique, I've been going there for years. I am an unusual size, and they don't have issues finding mybras for me, unlike other stores. I'm a 28HH, I used to be a 26H and they altered the bras to fit me. So you can imagine the horrors it is trying to find a bra. the only downside, is that that you wait a long time in the fitting rooms. They take their time to get you a bra, I would like it if they would speed up a little bit. I understand that they want to take their time with each customer, but there is alwaysa little too much dawdling in the hallways for my preference. The bras are expensive but cheaper than Les Saisons where I spend $140-$200 on a bra although don't get me wrong Les Saisons is also a really good store. The ones I get at Dawn's cost only $100. Although I saw that if you were a more normal size they could go down to as low as $50 which is the price yo'd pay at La Senza, for not nearly as good of a bra, and not nearly as good of a fitting. If I went to La Senza they'd try to put me in a 32E quite a stretch from a 28HH.. Although Dawn's doesn't carry Curvy Kate, a bra company whom I really like. I would shop online, but honestly, it probably takes less time to go to Dawns, then it does to keep going to the post office to pick up ill fitting bras, then sending them back etc. Less of a headache, less of a hassle. I've also never been able to find my size online for lingere. I found it at Dawns, and I've looked in pretty much every other bra store in Edmonton. The lingere cost me $100 but it was worth it because I'd always wanted it but never thought it was possible. My boyfriend was very pleased with Dawn's too. They also have great under wire bathing suits which I definitely need. read more

I had an extremely poor experience with Dawn's. I drove 4 hours to visit this store because of all the positive reviews I had read, needless to say I was surprised to find the service was less then stellar and the selection was dismal. If you don't have an appointment you might as well stay away from this place unless you have all day to Bra shop. I had to have the Bra modified so that it would fit into my dress for my sister's wedding. Their sizing was incorrect and when I tried to suggest something other than the size I was sloughed-off. The cup size was two sizes too big and the band was a size to small, not being a savvy shopper I trusted their "experts" when I took the bra to my dress fitting the designer let me know that I had the wrong size and properly sized me I attempted to correct this with Dawn's and they claimed that it was the right size and I must have worn it elsewhere because the elastic was stretched. Two fittings and a two hundred dollar bra was stretched out... hmmm maybe it's the wrong size. They suggested a back extender and modified the cups of the bar which I had to pay for. If the sizing was correct it would have my one trip to the city worthwhile instead of having to return a week later to deal with the dress fitting. I would not recommend this store to anyone or will I ever return to it. read more

I really love the great personalized service at Dawn's. I've been going for many years and it's awesome that alterations are included free with purchase. They did an amazing job altering a bustier I purchased to go with my wedding dress! I recommend Dawn's to all my friends if they're larger in the chest or have a hard time finding something elsewhere that fits properly. I know some people say they don't like that you can't go through racks looking for items on your own but if you're a specific size I find it saves time for them to just bring you what's available in your size. I've always left with what I was looking for and more. They'll always suggest bras that you may not think of trying as they know the fit of the items they sell. Try them, I think you appreciate what they can do for you. It's always best to call ahead to see if you need to make an appointment in case they're really busy. Appointments aren't necessary but better to check before you go. read more
