They are great. They stock everything you will ever need in a lock. Plus if you need extra keys or a key made for a lock you lost the key too. The sales staff is very helpful and pleasant. I took some keys to another store before going to Dawson's and got home and key's didn't fit two times. Finally I got my money back and went to Dawson's and got keys made. Great job! read more

Fast and friendly service and they had the keys to copy for my car. At the dealership they charge over 100% more because of the company logo on the key; I just don't want to get in a world of hurt if I lose the only key I had for my car. My husband and I decided to rekey the locks on our home. After seeing the great reviews on Dawson, we decided to give them a try. The outcome? We couldn't be happier with this company, their service, and these Medeco deadbolts they installed. Mike C is our Tech and I don't recall the last time any company provided the type of caring and compassion shown by Mike. Mike addressed each of my questions, concerns, and explained in detail how these deadbolts work, so we decided to have the hardware replaced on all our doors. What a kind and patient young man for tolerating my laundry list of questions! I think Dawson must have their employees take Customer Relationship training because the kindness and caring shown by Emery was also exceptional. They provide professional and friendly service. I have used Dawson Safe & Lock on on several occasions to rekey locks, make duplicate keys from my specialized blanks such as Abus which you can not find at the big box stores, and to install high security door jamb reinforcements to exterior doors. On each occasion, the work was done very well and the prices were reasonable. For onsite work, the technicians were very careful with cleanup afterwards and carefully explained the work that they were doing. Dawson Safe & Lock are bonded and licensed. They also close on the first Saturday of each month. One tip. . .actually more of a driving instructions heads up. . . is that the Dawson Safe & Lock showroom/main store is located on the one-way south bound service road of I-45 between Woodlands Pkwy and Sawdust. If you see the Billiard Factory store and the Texas Leather Interior store, you better slow down and get in the right lane because you at almost there. If you miss the turn, you have to circle all the way back by making a right turn onto Nursery Rd and take Oak Ridge Road back north to swing back up north on the southbound feeder road. read more

I've used Dawson for many years. They have always provided great service. If you are looking for cheap I'd suggest buying your locks at one of the big box stores, i.e. Home Depot. In fairness Dawson may have the more economical lines too but I go for their high quality stuff and fantastic customer service. They are on time or early for their appointments in my experience. I looked on YELP for locksmiths and found Dawson. I called to have the door locks rekeyed in our new house. Mark showed up about an hour and a half later and rekeyed all three doors in the house. The locks have always been a bit sticky and never worked very well. When he left, all the locks worked smooth and easy. Best money I spent today. And they use the new Apple CC app that emails you a receipt directly. Very professional. read more

Absolutely the best people! I had previously gone to Dawson's for the purchase of some locks for work years ago, and then to have keys made for our Mazda 3. The only key we had wouldn't function in the lock (theft light kept coming on), and the key was in pieces. We bought two new keys, had the car towed to Dawson's, and they worked an entire morning, consulting with other locksmiths, to get the key/car programmed correctly! It wasn't a simple task without a functioning key to start with, but they got it done and only charged us $50!! I can't say enough about the service, and the professionalism of these people. read more

Extremely bad experience with Dawson Lock. Quite frankly the worst experience . I paid to have the door lock replaced. This was confirmed verbally and in written form. Technician called to inform they did not have the lock color. Informed the lock color was not important and that it was a rental property and the lock needed to be replaced. I was not there when the technician came to the home. However there was someone to let them in. The technician chose to charge $150 to spray a liquid into the lock to "repair" it. The lock needed to be replaced and not repaired (as agreed in writing and verbally) and the repair did not work. Replacing the lock is less than $150. I called Dawson Lock and they told me they would charge me another $150 to come out and replace the lock. Called another company and it cost $15 for a service charge and $45 to replace the lock! When I disputed the charge with my cc company. Dawson lied about the work, service call and conversation. I highly recommend not using Dawson Lock and looking for an alternative locksmith. read more
