My observations are: Ashley, one of the night staff nurses provided exceptional care for me during my stay. I nominated her for a Daisy Award, so please give it to her as she earned it with kindness, attention to detail, answering any question which I had or offering to find out the answer she did not know. Please let your surgery prep nurses who worked my case my apologies and appreciation of their laughing to my answer of "Weenie Whacking" if I knew what procedure I was having. They also deserve a Daisy Award, as they made me very comfortable, as I was apprehensive before my implant procedure. The food was much better than I anticipated. I didn't give a 5 star review due to the following issues that concerned me: The base of the IV drip pole was filthy. I could see some liquid had been allowed to dry on it. It needed to be cleaned prior to having been brought to me. This led me a concern about sterility during my stay. The Hospitalist ordered every 4 hour blood work draws following a small sodium drop, but, the number was less than 10 points from the lowest ideal point. It might have been more efficient if they had bothered to step in and make an accurate decision on my needs rather than an action plan based on other's observations. Also, I suffer from seasonal allergies and requested ProAir to treat my slight wheezing and a check-in from the hospital's pulmonary staff. Neither the ProAir or the pulmonary staff member appeared. My domestic companion had to ask for my bandage to be changed as it was soaked with urine. We were both told that the doctor didn't like for "anyone to mess with his bandages" to which my companion (who is an RRT) replied, "He doesn't need to have a wet bandage on his open wounds..." The dayshift didn't keep us well informed as to our status during the discharge process. We had to ask when several times. All of this could have been due to training going on within the unit. I think if you fix these issues, you could have an excellent facility.

This was my first time at this hospital Center. I was having a procedure for my heart and my doctor…read moreworks out of this location. We arrived first thing in the morning and went through security who directed us to where we needed to be. Once upstairs, I signed in and waited till I was called and then did the rest of the check-in. It was just a short wait before they called me and back and started getting things ready. I ended up waiting about three hours for my turn in the rotation and once they got me in everything went pretty quick they already had IV set in my arm and shaved the area they would be working on. I was awake for the procedure, but I was medicated and I got to watch part of it on the big screen of the doctor was using. The whole team did a great job and was professional throughout. Everything went really well and then I was sent for postop. I did spend a lot more time there than I thought I would, but there were things they had to be sure of, and the doctor had to sign off on my release at the end. The nursing staff kept me pretty well informed and checked on me continuously while I was there. When it was time to go, they went over all the care and procedures I would need and provided me with paperwork to cover everything. They also sent my new prescriptions to my pharmacy. If you needed an outpatient heart procedure here I can genuinely recommend them. I hope I don't have to come back for anything, but if I do, I know I will be well cared for.
