Y'all please don't sleep on Daya's Snow Cones; they have the best sweet treats in the area! I discovered this place one day after hiking 2 hours at Palmetto State Park. I needed a cold treat to cool me off after my hike. I did a quick Yelp and Google search to confirm I wasn't embarking on a nasty establishment. Both sites checked out with their high star ratings. Only 10 minutes from the state park, I was en route. Upon arriving, there was a long line for the drive-thru. It was already a scorcher outside, I just wasn't looking to be too much more in the heat bath; so I decided to wait in my vehicle in line to order. After 20 minutes of waiting, it was finally my turn. I ordered #54 (the most vegan snow cone with fruit and no cream/caramel); and a mangonada sorbet. After a few minutes, the sweets were out. Heaven on muthafu~~~ earth this place is delicious!! It hit the spot so hard that it placed me into a sweet tooth coma that I wanted to immediately sleep and not drive back to Houston. The amount of syrup saturates the ice. No dry spots. The mango sorbet has bits of mango with its sweetness. Each time I pass through Luling whether that's coming or going; I make sure to stop here! Ive ordered the coconut sorbet without cream or caramel, but with nuts and it's so divine. I tried the mangonada, the best I've ever had. I've brought Sneakers and they gave him a free small cup of ice with cream. He gobbled that right up! I've even brought my parents and they loved it! Daya's is locally owned and family operated; you can't go wrong! Every person who works here has been very kind and always get my orders right. This was stop number 2 on our quest for great snow cones. Don't let the condition of the place fool you, they have some good snow cones. I recommend getting the combinations with toppings over a regular snow cone. We tried Wedding Cake, Peach Cobbler, Root Beer Float, Mango Sherbet and the Mai Tai. Wow! My family and I had such a wonderful experience here. They gave us a few samples so we could get a feel for their "extreme snow cones." We ended up getting the #1 (strawberries and cream) and the #24 (pina colada with fresh strawberries,mangoes,pecans and cream). Both we wonderful- the cream and fresh fruit were the best part. Talk about horrible service. We ordered, new girl was clueless or at least we hope she's new. Snow cones took about 20 min mind you only one customer was ahead of us. Waited to get the wrong order, excuse after excuse blaming the girl at the register. Was told they'd fix it and refund us the over charge, waiting 15 additional min wondering why I had seen over 8 snow-cones come out and not ours. When we asked the girl working suddenly said she " forgot " how do you forget? Knowing we've been here waiting for the refund as well as the remaking of the snow cone she promised. Ridiculous poor service, workers angry/ rude when asking why the snow cones and refund hasn't taken place. Then the girls didn't know the order and wanted the receipt mind you they claimed they'd process the return and had already began making the snow cone.. once we had given them the receipt they looked at us as if we hadn't ordered mind you they're not concerned about making the snow cones as promised just giving back the $ from the tip jar. Which was a mass amount of coins. 40 min later they begin to ask what we want mind you the snow cone receipt is in front of them. I'm not sure how much easier it gets by being given the receipt that shows the original order as well as cost. If we had known this stop was going to add an additional 50+ min we wouldn't have bothered wasting time. In the time being over 6 additional families have came and been served before us. Talk about poor service. To top it off after 50 min the snow cone was still wrong, I'm not sure how much crapper the service could possibly get. I've never had someone mess up on a snow cone order numerous times in a row. Yet alone never have I had to wait an entire HOUR for 2 simple snow cones topped with pickles and pickle juice. read more

Terrible customer service !! We had set a date to rent Daya's for a birthday party. This is part of their menu- to come out on location and make their cones. I have to mention, that having Daya's cater was one of the bigger attractions for my daughters party. We were excited about it all until 4 hours before the party, day of. the owner calls to say he can't make it.... this is a very last minute back out, and very unprofessional!! He explained that he was short 1 person. As a "paying" customer, who is about to rent your company and advertise you the same way someone else did when we saw you, he still decided to make it OUR PROBLEM. I asked the owner to please consider coming out and sticking to his word/commitment. But he said he couldn't do it. I don't see how contracting with anyone - and then last minute ditching is good or professional at all. To say the least, they lost a customer, who would drive miles to Luling just for their comes. Needless to say, we will choose to not support a company that can not keep their word and who just lost integrity in the eyes of at least 20 families that also thought this was not good practice.
