He also got a new contact prescription and i asked optical dept to print off his new prescription. They refused and said they had to order a trial pair before they would print prescription. I waited 5 days for that trial to come in and then asked for the prescription to be printed off and they again refused to print his prescription because he had to wear the trial pair for a week before they would print it off. In the meantime i am still waiting weeks for lenses and my son got into an accident where he both broke his frames and lost them. I explained this to the optical dept and they assured me the warranty would cover the frames. A month later i still do not have the full glasses set and when i called the optical dept said they were in back order and it will be another 2- 4 weeks from the manufacturer. I talk with the supervisor and find out they ordered the wrong frames. New frames are ordered now (1 month later) and i am told the warranty would cover them. This started in April and i come now in June to pick up the warranty covered pair and the optical dept asks for glasses frames that were broken. I previously explained multiple times that they were lost in the mtn bike accident that landed my son in the ER. They now tell me i have to pay for the frames. Worst service ever and my son is -4 in one eye and -8 in the other. I barely get both his contact prescription (they also printed the wrong one) and set of new glasses (they assured me warranty would cover) in June when the initial appointment was in April. Completely incompetent staff who never listened to the situation that was explained to them multiple times. I have come here 11 years with my son and was told by one of the staff members "i have been here 2 years and it's always been this way". Well i have come here 11 years and used the warranty and never had to bring back the broken frames. I was barely able to order contacts from another store because they held my son's prescription hostage and refused to print it off when asked multiple times. If you want your prescription 1+ months later then this optical dept is the place for you.

The procedure itself was about 10-15 minutes. It was absolutely painless, just felt some pressure. My eyes were very sensitive after the procedure (why naps are encouraged). I encourage you to research your drs before going through with any surgery. I think Dr Thompson has over 50,000 successful lasik procedures completed. The staff was amazing and all very nice. The procedure itself only took like 15min. It is exactly 24hrs since I got the procedure done. I went to lasik plus today for my follow up appointment. My vision is already BETTER than 20/20, and once the haloing goes away due to the healing process, my vision will become even clearer. If I was given the choice to do it all over again or stay using glasses/contacts, I would do the procedure again without hesitation. And I would recommend that anyone get it done for themselves if they were candidates. I would absolutely send them to Lasik Plus.

My Doctor was Dr. Passi he was amazing, I told him after I had my second eye done that I got a little teary eyed on my drive into my post op appointment, I said "Did you know leaves are not just green and have many different shapes and rocks have lines that make unique patters, that yellow really is a pretty color and the sky was so blue and the clouds were so white. Colors are so vibrant it's just been amazing the difference. And a special shout out to Becca who scheduled my surgery was the sweetest funniest, caring human ever, she goes out of her way and gave 110%. Unfortunately, I felt that the doctor, anesthesiologist, and assisting staff demonstrated very poor bedside manner throughout my care. I was originally scheduled to have surgery on my second eye two weeks after the first procedure. However, my surgery was canceled without any notification from the scheduling department. When I called the day before surgery because I had not yet received my surgery time, I was informed that I was no longer on the schedule due to missing a postoperative appointment. What was most frustrating was the lack of communication and accountability. Initially, I was told they would likely be able to correct the issue pending approval from Dr. Pitha. I then received an email confirming surgery for the next day, along with an estimate and payment request. However, only a few hours later, I received another call stating that Dr. Pitha would not allow me to be added back to the schedule because of a "hard stop" on the schedule. In the end, I'm grateful things worked out the way they did because I chose to move forward with another surgeon. I had my surgery performed at the Eye Institute of Utah by Dr. Ian Christensen, and the experience was significantly better. I would highly recommend exploring that option for cataract surgery or other eye procedures. Based on my experience, I would caution others against assuming that being affiliated with the University of Utah guarantees a high level of patient care or organization. Unfortunately, my experience was marked by poor communication, disorganization, and a lack of professionalism. The only reason I gave one Star is because there was no other option.
