Dr Gayer is the bomb. Do they say that anymore? Dr Gayer is so kind, patient, and knowledgeable…read more Did I say patient? Yes, patient. I can be a difficult eye patient, with all the machines, and probing, and prodding around my eyes. Each time they remind me that I need to get my eyes dilated, in order to have a proper eye exam. When I make my eye appointment it is during banker hours, and therefore I have to get back to work. I haven't had my eyes dilated for a few years now, due to the downtime, it takes for your eyes to be able to read printed words. I just found out that they are open on some Saturdays, and that I could make a Saturday appointment, that way I wouldn't have to take anytime off work. On a less than positive side, Keirsten the assistant, was very condescending, and borderline rude. I would also, like to see the "intake" machines updated. They remind me of old school eye exams where you covered one eye with your hand.

I'm so incredibly disappointed with how I was treated as a patient after seeing Dr. Alder for 20…read moreyears, especially since my whole family goes to him for care. Dr. Alder was out of my network after just switching insurance but I felt a loyalty to him since I had seen him for so long and he knew my history better than anyone else. This was a big deal to me because I'm a poor PHD student who can't afford out of network care but made an exception for this case. I made an appointment to see him which felt incredibly rushed and I didn't feel good about how quickly I felt hurried out of his office. After getting my glasses from an online retailer I felt something was off with my prescription. I also got contacts for the first time and my eyes couldn't adjust to the new prescription and that indicated something was for sure wrong with my prescription. I felt like I needed to see him again so I went into the office and spoke with one of his nurses. I asked her if I could be seen again with no charge if my prescription was wrong and she assured me I wouldn't be charged for that appointment. When I saw Dr. Alder again, my prescription was indeed incorrect. He wrote me a new prescription and charged me for the visit, even after his nurse told me I wouldn't be charged. When I asked his billing department why I was charged they told me it was because there was a four week gap between my initial appointment and the revisit (this is how long it took to go through the try on process of online glasses shopping and actually to actually receive my glasses). He then charged me a high rate for my contacts which I did not authorize them to purchase and order for me. After I thought all was said and done they sent me another bill with no context. I called and told them I had paid around $600.00 just to get my prescription and they dropped the charge. Dr. Alder was so cold, rude, and rushed every time I visited his office. I feel so violated and taken advantage of. I don't know if he has been in the business too long and doesn't truly care about every patient but I strongly urge anyone considering going to him to find another doctor. I've never, ever, been treated like this as a patient.

Trust your vision to QuaCks associates. Cold Attitudes,…read morethe front desk staff would be better suited to treat your vision. Billing!!! They rather have you go blind then accept your insurance. They will have you sign a document stating you will pay a percentage of what's owed rather then resubmit your claim. They are LaZy liars. They will give you a courtesy visit and 1 courtesy refill on your prescription, and kick you out the door. Honestly, they shouldn't even claim to have an interest in their clients. A courtesy visit? One courtesy refill on your medication What's that? something out of a retail store some kind of coupon. Sick0s an outrage to the medical community.

I have been seeing Dr David Dodds here for a few years now and it's been pretty great! He…read morespecializes in glaucoma and he sees a lot of glaucoma patients. Its funny though, I'm probably the youngest patient who gets regularly checked for glaucoma. They have a lot of top of the line equipment for checking glaucoma, they have this fancy camera that takes pictures of my optic nerve and this sphere that you put your head inside for testing your peripheral vision. It's all way nicer than any other eye clinic I've ever been to. One criticism I have is their glasses selection. It's all pretty basic stuff, you're definitely not going to find the newest trends as far as glasses are concerned but if you're just looking for something basic, they probably have what you need. I think they pretty much expect everyone to order their glasses online though, they pretty much immediately print my prescription as soon as my appointment is over, they don't even bother asking if I want to peruse their selection first. If you happened to live nearby, I could see it being convenient to come here just for a regular eye exam just to be able to try on glasses in person. Their prices seemed pretty reasonable to me. Of course for me, I come here for the regular glaucoma check up, the fact that they can take care of my prescription too is icing on the cake. They're also not in the most convenient of locations. It makes it really hard to get here without driving. I often have to get my eyes dilated for the glaucoma screening and I don't trust myself to drive or bike after that. I end up taking the bus, which takes awhile. On the other hand, I would be exceptionally impressed if this kind of facility was conveniently located downtown so I accept the fact that you can't have it all and I don't mind the extra commute to get exceptional treatment.

What a disaster of an experience! This office is so poorly run. Dr. Wooldridge seems competent…read morehowever his communication skills could not be worse. I am the patient, I am the customer, these are my eyes! I was treated poorly by him because of the incompetence of his office staff. I went in for a procedure in December and was told to return in January for a touch up. Meanwhile, they totally botched the billing with my insurance (and of course blamed the insurance). I was told me that if I came in for a touch-up, I would not be charged, then I was also told by that I would be charged. I elected to wait until they figured out the billing. There is a 90 day window that they couldn't get the story straight on. I wrote a letter, and received one back from Dr. Wooldridge and at which point I went in for a visit. They promised to call me back and let me know if I could be seen on the 91st day, I never heard from them. Because of his staff (which he defended) made me miss the deadline for a touch up by 1 day, I was too late for the procedure to be covered. Go to Hoopes, go to Moran, go anywhere but there!

I told the doctor that I had an adverse reaction to a medication and he told me to trust him, he does everything "text book" and injected the medication (at a high dosage). During a follow up visit with my daughter present, the doctor said, "I have never seen this bad of reaction." I said, "Maybe some patients aren't text book?" I have missed three weeks of work and was referred to a corneal specialist in the UEC group due to the adverse effects of the injection. Today the corneal specialist used forceps to remove a protective contact that had slightly adhered to my eye. It hurt. I didn't over react, just quietly said ouch twice. The doctor said, "I've used the numbing drops, so..." So what? I imagined the pain? I will continue follow up for the damage done through another doctor, medical group. The take away here is that you know yourself best and doctors are human, sometimes arrogant Walk if you need to, sooner rather than later. The staff at the Ogden location was awesome! There is a weird culture with the staff at the Bountiful location. It's day and night.
