Spectacular location for Balloon Fiesta goers!!! The staff was super friendly, and the location was superb to scoot down the back way to the Fiesta! The rooms were very clean, and the staff attended to our every need. They were able to get us a shuttle to the casino and suggest a shopping location with great local food. We did splurge for a suite since it was the only room available with a King bed. They served breakfast early for Balloon goers (like waaaay pre dawn). I can't tell you about it since the first morning, we slept in after a long, great night at the casino. On the second morning, we did chose to check out some local fare with some excellent green chile. We will NEVER stay in Albuquerque again for the balloons. This place is much more convenient and much less hectic with all the flavors of Albuquerque!

Mirror detached and shattered on the floor.

My family stayed at this Days Inn last month. I had requested a roll away bed when I set up the reservations. They told me to call right before we were to arrive to reserve it. I called the day before we were to arrive. When we arrived they had given the bed to someone else. This was the start of what turned out to be a horrible experience with this hotel. Getting a blow up bed at Walmart wasn't the end of the world. The first night, the air conditioner ran all night and could barely keep the room cool enough to sleep. We are from Phoenix and are no strangers to heat. The AC was old and inadequate for the job. Again, it wasn't like the AC didn't work at all, so we just lived with it. The pool was closed. Apparently thanks to Covid, so that wasn't a big deal. But there was no mention of this fact on their webpage. Their key cards only worked about 10% of the time on the outside doors. The hall ways are all not air conditioned and so were hot and stuffy. The final straw was on our last night of a 4 night stay. We had just drifted off to sleep when a loud crash happened inside our room. We turned on the light to discover a full length wall mirror had detached from the wall and shattered all over our luggage and the floor. I immediately called the front desk. It was attached to the wall by six spots of glue instead of anchors to the drywall or studs. The guy came up with a tiny trash can and a broom. We are talking a 6 foot tall mirror. Once he saw it, he returned with a slightly larger trash can. I told him they need a shop vac to get all the shards of glass off the floor. They don't have a shop vac, and it was clear it was going to take a lot more time to get this cleaned up. So, at 12:30 at night they moved us to another room. We were handed another key card and were left to move all of our stuff in the middle of the night. The next morning while checking out, to add insult to injury, the manager (Travis) decided to charge us for the broken mirror!!! I refused to pay it and demanded I talk to him. He was "not reachable" and I was told I could wait for him, but they didn't know how long he would be. We were on our way our of town so I couldn't just spend the day waiting for him. I then called Days Inn corporate to complain. They said I needed to talk to the manager and then hung up on me. The next day, once home, I called to talk to Travis. Big surprise, he wasn't available. I left a message for him to call me back, but he never did. I then contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge for the damage. This was the worst customer service I have ever had at a hotel and then to charge us for something that was not only not our fault, but to refuse to even talk to me about was just over the top. Horrible experience! Avoid this place. Motel 6 is just down the street.

No only was the faux leather tattered, there was no padding left in the seat.

This was the worst suite I've ever stayed in. The furniture was tattered, the AC sounded like a freight train, the faucet handle in the bathroom broke off, stains in carpet and ice machine was right outside door where you heard guests fill up chests in the am. Rented 3 rooms to attend a wedding and didn't have time to change or I would have. The management needs to take care of these issues and be held accountable. Ladies at front desk were ice but offered no resolve.

Beautiful, classic New Mexican architecture surrounded by desert and mountain views. The grounds are beautiful with options for biking (included), tennis/pickleball, walks, horseback riding, and golf. Located about 30 minutes north of Albuquerque and 45 minutes south of Santa Fe, made it easy to spend time in either. We were able to check in early, which was so nice after an early travel morning. Our room was large and included the classic hotel amenities, including waters. We were staying slightly during the off season, so two pools were open, which was fine as it wasn't that busy and it didn't get hot until about noon. Due to the location of the resort, it is easiest to eat at the property and there are a couple of options available: The Corn Maiden - nicer dining experience, Santa Ana Cafe - casual sit-down, Rio Grande Lounge - bar and bites, and Plaza - pool cafe. During our visit the Plaza pool restaurant was only open on Saturday. We tried in-room dining for breakfast one morning, as we were up early, the eggs had little to no flavor, and a couple of our items were forgotten/late. Not a huge deal as we understood they were training a lot of staff during the time of our stay. Overall, the food throughout all the dining options was just okay, and if there were more dining options close by, I would probably go there. The restaurants all tasted the same and there didn't seem to be much variety. It would be nice if at least one of the dining options was a different kind of cuisine to bring some variety. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, the staff was so friendly and helpful. There are plenty of activities to do at the resort and we loved that they had nightly s'mores. The room was great, but food could be better.

The property itself is beautiful and expansive, sits on Tamayame land, and at the outset of the conference a member of the Native American tribe welcomed us and shared about the land and setting. The property has with multiple event spaces, an on-site trail, a large gym, and several pools. It is a fairly large resort (our room was at one end, so it was about a 7-10 minute walk to the main lobby area). Each day began with a large breakfast buffet, and lunch was similarly well done. One of the highlights was being able to sit outside during meals at large tables overlooking the grounds, mountains, trees, and fresh air made for a really peaceful setting. For breakfast, I enjoyed the red/green chilies chilaquiles (New Mexican style breakfast), it was very flavorful and I enjoyed trying but was very spicy/heavy. From a conference and events perspective, the resort is very impressive. There is a large main conference room with a stage, and the room can accommodate over 100 people (at round tables), along with many smaller breakout rooms. Over two evenings, we attended events at different venues on the property, one about a 10-minute walk away (with hotel mini-bus transportation available), and another closer to the main area under a tent. The more distant venue was quite large and set apart, likely used for weddings and larger celebrations. That evening included a buffet dinner, DJ, dancing, and multiple bar setups. The second evening closer to the main hotel was a seated dinner under a tent, with music and performances in a more contained setting. There is also a nice bar and restaurant in the lobby, as well as another more casual restaurant by the pool. Given time constraints, I was not able to fully take advantage of all the amenities (including the spa, horseback riding, and longer trail walks), but I would absolutely recommend this property. It is incredibly scenic, serene, and feels immersed in nature, and I would gladly return.

The indoor pool and jacuzzi are nice to wind down after a long day driving. It is a small town and there aren't a lot of places to eat, but we've all been happy with both Nachos and La Hacienda which are both located near the hotel. The hotel also has some frozen meals available that are very inexpensive if you just want to microwave something quick to eat before heading to sleep. We have stayed here many times over the years and have never had any problems. I think this is the second time I've reviewed them, but we've been stopping here every year or two for what I think is about twenty years now.

Overall Rating: 3.5/5 - Honest Review from a Traveler, Not......an Influencer…read more I was traveling through this area on vacation and chose this hotel based on reviews -- it had a 4.9 rating, the highest in the area. That said, I'm not sure how it earned that score. I suspect a few influencers may have artificially boosted the rating without even staying here. I'm not saying this is a bad place to stay, but it's definitely not a 4.9 -- not even close. I just want to give an honest account so others can make an informed decision. PROS: Security/Parking: Felt like a safe area. Our vehicle was untouched overnight, and parking was well-lit. Interior Design: The hotel is older, but it's been updated -- mostly with fresh paint and new furniture. Room Appearance: Generally clean. Rooms have hardwood floors instead of carpet, which helped with cleanliness. Breakfast: The breakfast was fresh and tasty -- no complaints here. Bed Quality: Beds were comfortable enough. The pull-out sofa wasn't great, but that's not unusual for pull-outs. Entertainment: Large TV with a good variety of channels -- definitely a plus. Pool: Pool and pool area were well-maintained and inviting. CONS: Customer Service: Check-in experience was poor. The front desk clerk was on her phone when we walked in. She seemed rushed and disinterested when helping us, like she had to get back to her conversation. Amenities: Only two washcloths provided in a suite with two queen beds and a pull-out -- not ideal. Towels and washcloths were rough and felt cheap. Also, bring your own body wash and shampoo -- the ones provided didn't lather or rinse well, according to several in our group. Housekeeping/Condition: There was a damp, musty odor in the room -- likely due to the age of the building. The overall cleanliness was acceptable, but the smell lingered. Food Options Nearby: Not much to choose from in the immediate area, so plan to eat before you arrive or drive a bit to find something decent. Final Thoughts: If you're just looking for a place to crash for the night, this hotel may work. But go in with realistic expectations -- this is more of a 3-3.5 at most star experience, not a luxury stay. I'm not trying to discourage you, just sharing an honest take so you're not misled by glowing 5-star reviews.

The place smelled clean when walking in and the room itself was tidy, just very worn down. Fresh paint and small updates would help a lot. There were gaps under the doors, so bring something to block it if that bothers you. Walls are paper thin, so you'll hear your neighbors whether you want to or not. No streaming services on the TV, just basic cable filled with ads. No coffee pot or any other standard motel room amenities. No breakfast, not even cereal or a muffin. It had been decades since I had stayed in one of this chain's locations - I don't remember it being that spartan back in the day. I guess my standards have changed. I won't stay in a Motel 6 again. From now on, I'll spend an extra 10 bucks and stay in a place that cares about the services and amenities they provide, or spend double or triple and find a very nice place to stay, even if it's just for one night on a road trip.
