Road Trips as a family look different than those I took when I was single or before kids. I could push it through the night and arrive at my destination without sleep. These days when we travel to San Diego or SoCal, we budget in a night half way for some rest and a good night's sleep and showers/bath before getting back on the road. Perks include free parking, large rooms with refrigerators, bath tubs and grab and go breakfast offered for free. The room was nice and clean, and my partner still claims they had the best pillows. I booked online, room was around $118 for the night and with my travel discount - I got it for under $100. The only bummer is (my own fault) that we had no time for the pool or jacuzzi - which looked so relaxing and clean. I love a nice pool day. read more

My wife and I were traveling to Southern California to see my Family for my Birthday and while we were at it since it was so going to take so long to get there, we decided to stay in this Days Inn, in Lebec CA. While we have never heard of Lebec, we made the decision to book a room here anyways. My wife got online and requested that we get put up into a King Size bed. Well we got our keys and went upstairs. When we got there we realized, that we were on the wrong side of the Room because when we opened 219 we saw 2 Twn Beds and not the King Bed that we originally wanted. After telling my wife that I think we were in the wrong 219 we decided to just go around on the other side becuase maybe we can find the 219 with the King Size bed. Well we opened the door on the other side and low and behold we found the King Size bed we were looking for. I would give this place a 5 star but the only reason why I am taking a star point off is because in our Room the Sprinkler head that is used in case if there is ever a fire in our room was Rusty. Outside of that the room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and other than having to drag a 50lb suitcase up 2 sets of stairs everything else was great. Thanks Days Inn for a wonderful night. By the way, this Hotel is just on the outskirts of the Grapevine so if you dont want to go up the Grapevine late at night stay here. The price of the Hotel isnt bad and since they offer Free Breakfast in the morning, why would you not choose this place as your Hotel for the night? read more

The roaches outside our room were out of hand. I was walking the dog and noticed one big bug- wow that's a cockroach- and then easily 20 more all around. I was too scared to open my luggage in the room and barely slept all night. Would not stay again- way too roachy. I called the front desk and they pesticide every 2 months, despite this it was a cockroach hotel out front. I can't imagine they are not inside and everywhere. It's a good spot to stop and rest if you're driving to go to LA or So Cal. Daily rates are not too expensive either. Breakfast hours are from 6am-10am. It's a clean hotel that has a grab and go breakfast. They have breakfast sandwiches in the fridge that you can microwave. There are also individually packed pastries available. There's a nice outdoor patio to enjoy your breakfast and one inside that can fit a small handful. If you're looking for a quick stop to rest your eyes for the long drive, this is the place! read more

This is the most amazing (view wise) Days Inn I have ever seen- and I will fight anyone that says differently! We were traveling from Oregon to Arizona and stopped here after a long day of driving. Even in the dark I was amazed at the beautiful property. It is cabin-esque, the price is very reasonable and service is right on point. The rooms were extremely comfortable and felt safe. Although we only stayed that quick night, I was amazed at the surroundings, for the kids/family and pets! Car broke down so I stayed here for the night - even tho it's kinda in the middle of nowhere it has a very warm vibe and I felt very safe. Pets are allowed with a small fee which was a life saver for me with my cat. What a gem!!!! Made an overnight stop here on our trip to magic mountain. The price was right. It is a super cute hotel! Hands down the nicest days inn I have ever stayed at! Newly remodeled room. We were literally stranded here after our rental RV broke down. This was the only place we could get to. We stayed for two nights waiting for the RV company to help us. We had a party of five, the receptionist offered us a suite instead of paying for two rooms. It was spacious and had plenty of beds for all of us. There is a nice outdoor area with a pool and barbecues. I never thought I'd say I stayed in Lebec for 2 days, but if you have to, this is the place to stay! Only downside is that when you don't have a vehicle to go anywhere, the Ubers are few and far between and the only other things at this exit are gas stations and fast food. read more

Driving the 5 from the Bay Area to Southern California can be brutal due to traffic, weather, and the lack of beautiful sights. This midpoint stop is right before the uphill climb of the Grapevine. It's a picturesque place with beautiful views. It's cozy and quiet. The small breakfast included Jimmy Dean egg, sausage, and cheese croissants, fruit cups, yogurt, granola bars, and a variety of pastries and muffins. The staff was friendly though we arrived after 11pm and left around 6:30am. It's clean and quiet and a nice break during a road trip. I would stay here again. read more

Saturday, 10/08 - Sunday, 10/09/2022 - We decided to stay a night at Days Inn by Wyndham Lebec. Address is 9000 Countryside Ct, Lebec, CA, 93243. This is right after going through the grapevine (I5 north) coming from Los Angeles, CA. Upon arrival: Pros: 1) lots of parking. 2) they had a pool and hot tub. 3) there's a cute little court yard in the middle of hotel. They had tables and chairs in the courtyard so you can enjoy outside. It was cutely at up. 4) there's a laundry room, Ice machine, soda machine, and snack machine. 5) no public bathroom. 6) the check-in room was clean and cutely decorated. 7) the lady at the window, when we checked in, was nice. The new lady the next day, when we checked out, was nice as well. 8) we ran out of the little bottle of shampoo and Conditioner. I went to the front desk to get some more. They provided Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner. 9) the room we were in is 2 queen beds, non smoking. Cutely decorated inside the room. Comes with ironing board, microwave, mini fridge, small shampoo and conditioner, 2 small bar of soaps and even a bottle opener attached to the sink. Of course towels and toilet paper. 10) they provided a VERY basic breakfast. It consist of 2 kinds of granola bars, 3 kinds of muffins, yogurt, fruit cups, coffee, tea, and hot water. 10) free wifi Cons: 1) none Conclusion: We had no issue here. We really liked how their courtyard looked. It was cute. Pretty. Nice spot to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. You can see I5. Our room was comfortable. Bed comfy. A/C works and kept us cool through the warm night. The 2 ladies that helped us was nice. Pool looked clean. Hotel looked very clean and tidy. I'd stay here again if needed. read more

If you're ever in a jam or find yourself in a Grapevine closure, this little cutie of a hotel will bring you peace of mind. Not too much around, but a really nice Shell with all the good fixings for snacks & water. There is also a Jack in the Box & Dennys. However it's kind of placed in the middle of open land, so, when it gets foggy it's a beautiful sight. Rooms are extremely clean, & the showers have those cool heads that have different settings for pressure or massage or gentle rain. Very rustic Prarie chic with the prettiest bedding. Our room featured a really cute horse table lamp between the Queen beds! Coffee is served all day, & an older gentleman encouraged me to ask the front to brew up more when I discovered there wasn't any. I felt nervous about it because I don't like to be a bother, but the girl was more than happy to oblige. Breakfast offered is simple, fruit, muffins, yogurt, granola, fresh juice. I encountered no problems whatsoever during my brief stay, nor have any complaints about noise or other people around. Aside the gentleman in lobby, I only saw one other person walking thier dogs on the hill across the way. All the stress of being stuck due to closure melted away in the morning, & I was on my way. Hard to know if I should give 3 or 4 stars. I found the western theme to be charming although my 15 year old found it fake. The view was pretty from the pool. The room was fine. The pillows were excellent! Some maintenance. The paint in the bathroom was peeling badly near the shower head. Three or four layers of paint. The breakfast bar was very carb heavy. Neither my 15 yo nor I found w worth eating. Hard boiled eggs would have been nice. As others noted, gas is $$$$. Nevertheless, a good 9 hour stopover. I'd stay again. read more

A good stopping point when traveling up North from San Diego. This limited hotel is clean, "safe", and at a price point that's affordable yet out of the reach of riff-raff. I usually break up my trips to the Central Coast at this location because just getting through LA can be a bear in and of itself. There are also great dining options in the area ( Pieology / Black Bear Diner). - Don't come here for free WiFi. While there are several connection points there is no available bandwidth. - There is also a Outlet Center close by but I'm not sure that's worth a special trip - Do NOT use the Shell station next door. Sadly i can no longer recommend this hotel because their wireless does not work. It is a decent place in many ways so I am sorry this one fatal flaw keeps it from being a viable place to stay. We have a phone and a computer each, had been traveling a month with no problems connecting any of the 4 devices. here we called down and the kind front desk person said she would try resetting the modem but otherwise had no idea what might be wrong. 20 minutes later, when nothing would connect we called again and she said she would send a technician over and that it would be soon. 20 minutes later he had not appeared and honestly we didn't think he could do anything anyway, since there's no easy explanation for why four different devices won't connect to the Internet at your hotel except something is wrong with the Internet in general at the hotel or maybe the Internet doesn't do a good job of reaching the room I'm staying in. Whatever it is, it's going to be a dreary night trying to watch the little TV inside the cabinet that you can't get a clear view of from most parts of the room. I had a lot of business work I needed to do but that requires being on the Internet so if you're a business person or have anything you're going to need to do on the Internet, or simply want some entertainment here in the middle of nowhere, other than the small TV in the cabinet, you're out of luck. i would take a bath but they do not have a plug for the tub so it is essentially a shower. If I had known it was like this, I wouldn't have stayed here. Hopefully this review prevents other people like me from making the same mistake. if you don't plan to use the internet, the golden hills are nice at least. read more

Nice property and clean, comfy rooms (seemed on the newer side of a remodel.) I'd rate it higher than most you-are-stopping-primarily-to-sleep-at-an-exit-in-the-middle-of-the-night-hotels. This hotel is located at the last exit before you descend into the Tejon Pass. In other words, when they close the Grapevine due to weather, this is the exit at which you will probably turn around. We spent NYE 2016 here due to just such a closure. Clerk was excellent and patient despite the full house (we reserved online while still in the 45+ minute traffic jam of the turnaround.) AAA (10%) and AARP (20%) discounts available online if you register for Wyndham Rewards. Other discounts available. Stays can also earn airline rewards rather than Wyndham Rewards if you prefer. Property and exterior were much nicer than average for what is essentially a gas station-three restaurants-two hotels freeway exit. Pool looked above average for the hotel class/type, although we weren't tempted with the snow falling. There was a hot tub (open until 10) that we did not get to despite intentions. I spotted a grill area as well. Beds were comfy - neither too soft nor too firm. Bathroom (toilet + shower/tub) was very small but very clean (newer fixtures) with vanity outside. Our standard king had a mini-fridge and in-room coffee pot, but no microwave. 12 noon checkout was nice. Helpful suggestion: a 1-gallon (ok, maybe 2-gal) trash can holds NOTHING. Providing a couple of them...also holds nothing. Spring for a 5-gal next time ;-) -1 star for the free breakfast, offered from 6-10 am during our stay. Very little selection, pretty much cheap carbs only, meh coffee...AND they cleared the signature item (waffle batter for make your own waffles) a good 20-25 minutes prior to the end of breakfast service. read more

This Ramada accepts pets and it is on the last exit right before the grapevine heading toward Los Angeles. All the "better" places to eat are on the exit right before getting to the Ramada. There is a place to eat right next to the Ramada but we strongly recommend "not" eating there, one person in our group got sick after eating there and the other two who didn't get sick, picked at their food and took 90% to go. If you only need to stay one night and don't need or want a lot of frills or amenities this place may fit the bill. But the price may be a bit more than expected. The bathroom in our room was really small. The rest of the room was pretty average/mediocre for a off highway one nighter lodging. This will always be an option. But we will certainly consider other nearby lodging that offers more amenities and is posher that accepts small pets. read more

If you're in a middle of a road trip and need a place to stay. This Ramada Limited in Lebec, I highly recommend. Their rooms are clean and spacious. You definitely get the basics, flat screen TV with cable, coffee maker, couch, comfortable king sized bed, etc. Don't expect anything fancy. The good thing is, it's not a rinky dink hotel. The courtyard here is nice, with the wooden tables and fireplace. Even with that small area, it had a little bit of that western charm. When I walked outside our room, you have the view of the mountain, and in cold mornings you can see the hot tub steaming at the pool area. My favorite here was the complimentary breakfast. There is a wet bar to get coffee and juices. They have a bagel counter with toasters, packaged cereals and fruits. My wife made some waffles from their waffle maker and they came out, yummy! My small gripe here is that, there's no extra plug-in for charging your phone on the bed side, (not even on the lamp base, which was weird because the lamp on the office table had one). But you need to unplug the lamp or alarm clock on the bedside wall, if you prefer to charge your phone beside you. The cabin style in the lobby and cozy breakfast area had us felt like checking in Colorado. Friendly service at the front desk and access to the 5 freeway is very close. We had a good rate that night. They're AAA approved. If you're a member you get 10% off your stay. read more

Booked this room through Priceline. The first thing the clerk tells us when we tried to check in was "Did you know you booked a smoking room?" I told her we did not. Nothing on the Priceline site nor the confirmation email said it was a smoking room. (Also, this is California where I thought they had obsoleted those rooms). I rechecked the Priceline website which shows that the room I booked did not show it was a smoking room. However, there were others that showed "smoking" and others that showed "non-smoking", but mine showed neither. So the clerk said we would have to fix this through Priceline. Priceline Customer Support was useless as well. 30 minutes of chatting (because calling gets you no where with all the freaking prompts) and the only "resolution" was that they had to "escalate it". The clerk asked her coworker if we could change our room and our only option was to upgrade to a king and pay more. Nope. We were already tired from the road trip and took the room, which reeked of cigarette smoke. read more

Bugs all over the room, and when we spoke to an employee at the desk she said it was normal for that side of the facility because the bugs "hang out" there. That's 100% unacceptable when we have an infant and child staying in the hotel room with us. All she had to say was we will spray and take care of it, but instead she made it seem like that was normal and said they don't spray due to a "smell". I will be contacting corporate because that response is crazy to give a paying customer, and that problem will continue happening to other paying customers. read more

What an awesome gem in the desert! The Ranch Style decor with stone fireplace in the lobby AND outside by the pool area was a nice touch from the usual hotel designs. Our room was clean, large, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was simple. All the usual continental type foods. No meat, but hot oatmeal and choice to make waffles. The pool was 5 feet deep. The courtyard near the pool had the fireplace as mentioned before, a BBQ for use and nice picnic tables with beautiful landscaping and flowers to give such a nice relaxing time away.
