If you're going up to the thumb area and need an amazing place to stay, this is it. I stayed in a…read moretwo bedroom regular cabin( there's a deluxe two bedroom cabin) and it was great. I spent a week there with my husband and kid. My kiddo loved having their own room unlike if we had chosen to stay at a hotel. All their cabins are on Lake Huron. You just walk out the back door and boom, there it is. Absolutely beautiful views. The cabin was really clean and had all the basic stuff you'd need. They provide a gas grill, utensils to cook with, towels ( not swim towels but all other towels), internet, a Roku connected to tv, a shower, etc. you get the point. It's very conveniently located to other city's up there. It's about 15- 20 min away from most of the tourist things to do. One of the cool parts of the lake is that along the shore are a bunch of boulders and rocks that create a wonderful habitat for little fish to swim around. So if you plan on swimming bring your snorkels so you can see the schools of fish swimming around. You'd be able to see them regardless cause the water is pretty clear on a calm day. But seeing them underwater is always fun. We also went to tour the lighthouse next to the cabins, snorkeled and kayaked at Harbor Beach. We tried out both of the popular ice cream places ( the one that I believe is called Rybeck is the better one imo.) we went to the farmers market and swam in the marina area down the street from the farmers market, and of course enjoyed stargazing. We saw a bunch of stars up there. A few small touches that were unexpected but fun was the guest book where former guests wrote things they did which was great to get ideas and they have this super tricky wooden puzzle that we worked on all week until we gave up and looked at the solutions on our last day. We can't wait to go back!

Loved everything about this resort! I spend most MI summer weekends enjoying the Lake Huron…read morebeachfront at different venues with cottage rentals. Crystal Sands Beach resort was able to accommodate a girls weekend (17 girls) easily. The beach house apartments provided plenty of room, gorgeous views, full kitchen and an open floor plan. The Villa's are equipped with full kitchens, bedrooms, and open floor plans in general living areas. The Suite's were open floor plans with refrigerators and coffeemakers. The property and beach were well kept and grounds crews seemed to make regular rounds to ensure cleanliness. The resort is on the beach and has a gorgeous beach area. There were many families and children enjoying their swimming, kayaking, and bulldog sand castles. At night the resort set up chairs and multiple fire pits on the beach for guests and kept the wood coming and fires going! The resort also came equipped with regular housekeeping which included daily garbage changes, cleaning, and towel replacement. The resort is handicap accessible with an ADA Suite and handicap beach access. My travel companion is wheelchair bound and we had no problems getting around. The beach house steps were wide enough to get a wheelchair bound person up and down and all staff and owners were quick to offer assistance when we took the wheelchair and occupant of wheelchair up and down the steps. I've stayed in many (most) locations in that area on the beach and this is by far the best. We can't wait to go back for our annual girls weekend next year! I can't say enough about the location or the amazing staff/owners of the resort. They truly work hard (while making it appear effortless) to ensure everyone is having a great time. Thank you Sam and Nada!!!! It was truly a pleasure meeting you and thank you for such a great time and all that you did to make our 25th annual weekend perfect!

Palomas were yummy, maybe a little, light on the booze, and the not quite dark and stormy was a little funky, they do white and dark rum which changes the profile quite a bit. The place is new ( or newly renovated) so everything was clean ( though our room smelled a little cigar-y). Restroom in the restaurant was very nice. Love the decor! Pillows were too poofy, I prefer a little flatter pillow, there were about 19 pillows on the bed, so they could've included a couple flatter ones to accommodate different sleep styles. We'll come back for sure, but all I could think overnight was I need to have a travel pillow in the car for impromptu overnights like this one.

The outdoor seating is stunning and they spent top dollar setting it up. Inside has room for family friends couples of just a loner. We did the bar and appetizers first trip and it was phenomenal. Pizza for our second visit was again phenomenal with a wide variety of beverages ... I tried Garage Beer and enjoyed it. Third trip was today outside... wow the lunch was awesome whitefish dip appetizer and the bbq brisket sandwich. Stunning experience I hope you try them out and enjoy.
