Of course, we had an old water heater go crazy and burst below in our very large crawl space on a Saturday night but didn't know until Sunday morning. Called Dayspring and they were down in an hour! Michael Mattox and Issac sucked the water out, put in dehumidifiers but not fans as they wanted to have their mold expert come first. They were here for most of the day then Michael came back the next day to check on everything along with Austin, the mold expert. It was decided we didn't have mold as we caught it quick enough so they were able to put in fans. The next day Michael and, a think a fellow, Chris determined all was well and took out all their equipment. When the insurance adjusters came the next day, they said they were very impressed with Dayspring's work and would recommend them to all their clients in the area...so would we...prompt, polite, professional and good work. read more

THey responded promptly to my black water back up and were in the next day for total clean up and mold and asbestos remediation. Brock communicated each step of the way and was very attentive when answering and returning my calls. The clean up was great and working with Joe the restoration person was great as well unfortunately they could not get the restoration fully completed to move my renters back in quickly. So I had to go with another construction company but was very happy with the responsiveness and working with Joe was great (just wish they weren't so busy). My Dad had a pipe break and although Dayspring did respond fairly quickly, that's where the quality ended. They would not show up at promised times; tried to do work that was unnecessary; had unpleasant management (their techs were nice, but certainly limited training and under staffed); and upon completion they inflated the bill and ceased answering or returning calls!! From the protracted time it takes for them to do anything, to the misrepresentation of issues and what the remediation needs to be, to the inflated billing...they are not a company that you want to use!! We gave them a chance to step up and address the main issue and they did nothing but put us down. They even attacked our insurance company; calling them liars and stating that most of their customers that had this insurance had to turn a claim into the Montana Insurance Commission to get payment. My experience with DaySpring Restoration has been difficult to say the least. DaySpring service people seem very friendly and helpful at first. DaySpring damaged several items in my basement when they did the mitigation work. They said they would fix these damages but by the time the mitigation got resolved, I had to go to another company to get the restoration work done. Their service people did not come to my house when they told me they would on 3 separate occasions. I paid extra for after hours emergency but they left soaking wet carpet pads overnight and even then I pointed them out they said they didn't have time to take care of them as they were due on another site. They would not work with my insurance on the overages they were charging. The did not find the cause of the leak. I told them I thought it was the hot water heater and they agreed but didn't check it out. When the plumber came we could find no evidence of a leak but DaySpring did not look further. 2 weeks later I have water in my basement again and the leak was found to be a busted pipe. I would never use this company again. I am using 5 valley restoration and am very happy with their handling of the situation and their work on the restoration and their work with the insurance company. read more

A slow plumbing leak dripped water into the basement ceiling below for a couple months before the sodden drywall fell out. I called another restoration company first. The estimator was here for 10 minutes, took a quick look at the damage and presented me with a contract to sign. He did not explain anything about the what they wanted to do or why. I called Dayspring and got a totally opposite response. Two people responded and took 25 minutes to look at all aspects of the damage and explain what they could do. They explained why the repair would be a multistage process (plumbing, electrical, drywall, flooring, etc) This meant that several workers would be involved over several days. The next day I received the estimate for repair along with all the details of the charge. They started the repair on time and kept me informed every step of the way. Dave Hiniker coordinated the stages of the job and he actually did much of the work himself. He was polite, cordial,and informative. The job was finished on time and the results are excellent. When the job was done, the bill was exactly what was quoted. read more

They were here very quickly to assess the damage. One of the first questions was if I had filed a claim with my insurance. I told them I did. They were going to be on it the next day. I got a call from their office the next morning and their first question was if this would be covered by insurance. I told them no, it's not covered. That is the last I've heard from them. We came back from 3 weeks of vacation to our lower floor flooded with a moderate amount of water, leaving walls damaged, and mold to set in. Once Daysprings was able to come out the started drying it out and address some of the mold. A week an a half later we got an invoice for 1 lower wall cut and some wall paneling. They left 3 walls that had water damage, they didn't remove and dry out the flooring that was damage. We identified a crack in the foundation that was the reason for the water damage and spoke with the supervisor Andrew to repair it. The crack was not repaired, so after they dried everything up and we had some rain we had the water damage back. We had more mold. After bring up the issue, I was told that we would have to pay for the travel time and mileage for the workers to come out and do the original job they should of done in the first place. I live an hour and 15 minutes away from there office. So for two trips they charged nearly $1,000 just for travel and mileage. I would seriously recommend you use a more professional company that can recognize and admit to mistake that had made. read more

I recently had a Police action in one of my rentals which sustained several thousand dollars in damage pepper spray and tear gas, when I called day spring they were there immediately and took care of all the details and cleaned up the mess so my repair crew could start the needed repairs. They dealt with the insurance company and I could concentrate on the needed repairs. They were very professional and pleasant to work with. Beware, Dayspring not only runs up the charges unnecessarily, but they also add phony charges for equipment they never brought. Had a dishwasher intake valve break one evening that left limited water damage to the kitchen area, a little of the dining area carpet and down into the door end of the garage underneath. They came a week later and agreed there was no emergency, leaving one dehumidifier to run overnight and when I was out. They didn't start deconstruction until six weeks later, but milked the checks on humidity readings in the meantime, at $120 a pop. The deconstruction work to the lower kitchen parts and dining area and garage seems to have been well done. However, they eventually sent an invoice, labeled finalized rough draft, that claimed emergency services and included a second dehumidifier, a couple of fans (air movers) and air scrubbers, along with associated set up and removal fees, that were never here. Nearly $5000 worth of phony charges, emergency services schedule pricing aside. They of course insist the equipment was here, but it couldn't have been because there was no room (I don't even know what an air scrubber is, let alone what it looks like). Don't know yet how the insurance company and I are going to deal with this, but I'd suggest anyone who values their pocketbook steer clear of these fraudsters. read more

our review is 2 part. First, they responded right away. after having sump pump fail and flooded quite a bit of our daylight basement. Christian and Brandon were great. They went right to work pulling out the carpet, drywall, pad etc and getting things dried out. They came just about every day to check. They were awesome. 2nd, That bill however we found excessive. We were told we needed to do a deposit, done. Also informed that we had 30 days to pay the tear out bill. Told then that a lien could be placed on the house since its for sale for the rebuild. I received the insurance check but needed the bills and estimate to have mortgage holder release. We received the bill the 17th. We received their estimate on the 22nd. Found out that evening that they filed a lien on our house the 18th!!! They were paid off on the 24th as soon as i had the checks in hand, i delivered. The insurance repair and tear out estimate was for $19,000. Days estimate was for $30,099!!! talk about excessive. They did not break down anything. They even had listed for an electrician.....what, to replace switch plate covers!!! a 5 year old can do that. Look someplace else!!!! one Chamber member should not treat another member that way. Repairs will not even run half of what their estimate is. We have done work with them before and did not run into problems. Suggestion, go someplace else. read more

Just received my bill from Dayspring. Really?!! Over $1200 for one fan/dehumidifier to run 5 days with no monitoring (per what invoice says). And I, of course, paid all of the electrical cost! Yes - It was an emergency situation in which they came after hours, but it was early in the evening, not 3:00 in the morning! And they advertise 24 hour service! They also mismeasured the area according to their own diagram. The room is half as deep as they indicated! They also charged for "demolition". This consisted of tearing off an approximately 2' x 2' piece of wall sheetrock before running the fan. My son and I did all of the demolition work, and my son did all of the construction repair work! After this outrageous bill I will not use Dayspring again. read more

We had water damage at our home in Seeley Lake, which is a small town so I called Dayspring in Missoula, Montana. I worked with Isaac. Isaac was very pleasant to deal with and made me feel comfortable that everything would be taken care. The company overall did a good job but did try to over charge. They wanted to charge $4,000 just for commuting. Our insurance agent worked that out and we moved forward. When the work was completed I got a call from Stephen threatening to file a lien against our property. I was appalled that a person could make a threat like this when we did not even have an invoice yet. After a very heated conversation we got the total, wrote a check and sent it Fed Ex. We paid this bill without even an invoice. I sent the check via Fed Ex at 3:30 and we received the invoice at 5:30. This was not a pleasant experience. I would not recommend using their services. Unless you like drama and bullies I would find another company!! read more

I was told they would be happy to come see my flooded basement without a consultation charge as they had other jobs in my neighborhood. They had been recommended by another client who had insurance coverage. When he arrived and was told I did not have insurance, he said that they could do some extra things and try to keep the cost down. He said they could dry out the six rugs with a huge vacuum from their truck and put big fans out and have them dried in a day. I asked him how much the fans cost. $125 a day per fan! I told him I had just reserved ten of the big fans at Star rental for $20 a day, but since I was pulling all the baseboards, drywall and insulation myself it would be a big help to have them extract the water from the rugs. they were very good at coming out on time the next day with a quote of $600,"but probably less." A fellow new on the job, his first day, was given the vacuum and shown how to get the most out of the suction. I told them that two of the rugs had pads and would have to be done separately from the rugs. I was assured that the vacuum was so powerful it would get 90% of the water, even with the pad under it. Since I was down there doing other work, I saw when he was through with the padded rug that it was still squishy when he was done. So he started over and did the pad and rug separately. The last rug was very nubby, and the boss fellow said that he could not do it because he could not get suction on it. But he would not charge for it. I told him that he was the professional and that I could do it with my shop vacuum but did not have time, so he went out to his truck and got another press with a suction on it and used that. It was still very wet when they left, but he said if it did not dry, and I called they would not charge me. As he had said he would help do other things when he was there, I asked him to pop one baseboard off under a built in cabinet. He said that he could not as he did not have the right tool. ???? the professional without the right tool. Had he had the whole job, how would he have taken the baseboard off? I was pleasantly surprised when the bill came for $316. I sent my payment in within a couple of days and received another bill for the same thing within a week. ??? Interestingly, I was called by THREE OUT OF STATE insurance adjusters who wanted to HELP. they could fix me up with the best, professional restoration folks. When I told them my insurance agent (Farm Bureau) had told me that I was not covered, they wondered why they had been contacted. I asked one who they recommended in my area for clean up and was actually told that since I was not insured they did NOT GIVE THAT INFORMATION OUT UNLESS I WAS INSURED!! WHY WOULD ADJUSTERS FROM OUT OF STATE WANT TO HELP, UNLESS THEY ARE GETTING A KICK BACK FROM THE RESTORATION PEOPLE? My insurance agent acted surprised when I told him this story. he said they just write up a claim and it goes out to all adjusters (in the US??), Code Blue, is the company, I think. Then my insurance agent said they are done with it. So how many people from all over have all the information about my insurance policy? They were able to tell me things about it that I did not even know! My agent took notes and said he was going to find out more. I have not heard back from him in two weeks. It seems that an insurance company would have some concern about paying out huge claims for work done. Those "thank goodness I am covered" claims that the adjusters and restoration folks take advantage of run up the price of insurance for all of us. But I guess they don't care. This company may be efficient in getting to your home faster than their competitors, maybe by 20 minutes, but do not use them! Wait the 20 minutes. If I knew, what I knew now, I would have never chosen them to help with water damage in my home. My whole basement was submerged in water due to a water pipe burst. This has never happened to me before and I was a completely overwhelmed and a novice in this whole process. I contacted my insurance company, they suggested I use Servpro or Dayspring Restoration. I called both companies, DaySpring was available to come to my home immediately. Fast forward.... Once DSR knew that my insurance would cover all damages, they ran their machines to dry the space/walls,carpet for 8 days and charged my insurance around $1000 a day. ( Cost wise they could have sucked up the water, ripped out the carpet and then dried the walls. ) Instead they chose to leave the soaking wet carpet, so then the walls took longer to dry. I was surprised that they chose this path, but as the professionals, I trusted their judgement. BOY! WAS I FOOLED! Trevor was very unpleasant to deal with. When I first met him, he seemed nice, but by the end of the week, he was rude,demanding, and unprofessional. He made the assumption that my carpet was underwater for less than 48 hours. He had no idea when the pipe burst. . I knew it was more than 48 hours .According to water damage standards, ( I spoke with another restoration company) , they said u can't assume when the carpet got wet. If you don't know, rip it out. If the carpet is submerged for more than 48 hours, get rid of it. Once the basement was dry, the carpet was bubbling, stained, frayed, and it had shrunk. Isn't the definition of restoration: the action of returning something to a former owner, place, or condition. DSR DID NOT BRING BACK MY CARPET TO THE FORMER CONDITION. On top of it, Trevor was telling my insurance company to not replace my carpet. For a company that is suppose to be on my side, he sure wasn't. After several months of research, I found enough evidence that Trevor made the wrong decision to keep the carpet. I was able to present this to the insurance company, once I proved my case, the carpet was replaced. So here are a few things I learned from this experience: 1. MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND: You can use any restoration you want. Don't let the insurance company imply that their suggestions are the best. Its worth the time to do research. Avoid any hassles in the future. 2. IF U CHOSE A RESTORATION CO, ASK THEM THEIR OPINION, BUT THEN CALL ANOTHER COMPANY FOR A SECOND OPINION ( I KNOW THIS IS AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, CALL A PLUMBER FIRST. The restoration companies won't start work, unless the water is turned off.) 3. TAKE PICTURES, VIDEO, WRITE A REPORT on what you see during your emergency. EVERYDAY. 4. ASK QUESTIONS- It doesn't matter if your being annoying to the restoration guys... Your paying their wages. 5.
