Not only was Dave super prompt, reliable and professional, but he sure knows his stuff! He came to my home on a Sunday because that was the only day I could see him or I'd have to wait another week. We had ants crawling through the kitchen cabinets and even into our dishwasher. And to make matters worse, we had a pesky mouse too (which he set traps for free and worked in less than 24 hours). Had a hornet's nest in an ornamental tree on my property. Was charged $300 for "killing the nest". At first I thought it was fair ... but then all the technician did was put a wand in the hive and squirted some chemicals in it to kill the hornets and that was it !!!! Also wanted it removed .... but the guy was reluctant .... he finally agreed to come back and chop it up ... it would be good fertilizer for the tree ( all those chemicals ????) and there would be no damage to the tree if it was done that way. I still maintained that I would like it removed from the tree. He then said he would come back to remove it but could not get rid of it as he couldn't put it in his car as he drove a Cadillac !!!! How about that answer !!! Classic !!!! Not very accommodating. After checking prices, for this type of service, on the internet, I found that $300 is at the top end of normal pricing for this type of problem. However, I found prices of $89 on the internet for this same problem. Please check prices before committing to your hornet's nest removal. It could save you hundreds. read more

After 1 month of service, I was supposed to have the tech come out again. I was told that I would receive a phone call to schedule my next service visit and I did not. I called and left a message and then followed up with an email. I never received any return communication and there was supposed to be 60 day money back guarantee for the services received. Last week, I found seven mice in my apartment. Although my cat was truly enjoying his new-found role as rodent assassin, it was time to call in a professional. Dave Bilyk to the rescue. He took the time to answer all my questions over the phone and explain their approach. While most companies use poisons, DBE focuses on blocking entrances that mice or other pests may be using. They also set glue traps as opposed to the snapping metal ones. This really put me at ease because I was concerned that treating the rodent issue would inadvertently hurt my feline friend. I imagine that this would be a better approach for anyone who has small children, as well. They are based out in the suburbs, but they had no problem coming into Center City to help me. After reading the reviews, I thought Dave was the perfect person to solve our squirrel problem. He caught two babies inside our house. Then, he set up traps outside to catch the mother. I called as soon as a squirrel was in the trap. Dave never came to take the squirrel and release it away from the house. Instead the squirrel died in the trap. As you can imagine, I am not a happy client and would not recommend his services. read more

He came over and set a variety of traps (standard, t-rex, glue) and meticulously sealed off areas with a foam gun where mice could potentially get into the house. The problem was not as bad as we thought and they did not recommend an extended treatment period which tells me they are honest since they could have tried to get a contract when one was not needed. Excellent service! Dave made time for us within 24 hours. Found evidence of mice for the first time after being here over nine years. Tried to deal with it myself for a few days but that was getting me nowhere. Dave did an inspection of the premises and found several weak spots of possible entry. Completely unreliable. After initial visit and a follow up for treating our roach problem, could not get a return phone call to continue regular service treatments in order to remedy the problem. Additionally, the written reports for our records did not accurately reflect the conditions at the property. They assured me the reports would be revised and resent which never occurred. Bottom line, we essentially had to start over with a competitor to take care of our pest issue. Wasted time and money. read more

Two years ago I renovated a kitchen floor in an apartment that I own. We pulled the entire floor up and put a new floor down. The apartment is in the back of the house and there is no basement under the kitchen, so it was quite a job. The tenants moved out recently and thankfully before I rented it again, I noticed a terrible smell that kept getting worse. I had the floor pulled up and low and behold, several rat families must have taken up residence over the winter. As luck would have it, several rats didn't make it thru the winter, and thus the horrible smell. When I saw this scene, I freaked!!! I called Dave at DB Solutions because he does the mice and insect extermination for the property, and he came over early the next morning. When I say he took care of everything, that's an understatement. He removed the remains of the dead rats, removed the filthy insulation, treated the dirt underneath, put down stones, found the point of entry and treated and secured it, told me what to have the cement worker do to secure the entire perimeter, and bagged everything up. He even came back the following week and treated the ground again before the new materials were laid down. I can't believe the job he did. I always thought I had the best exterminating company in the city, but now I'm 100% sure.
