This is such a gem in the city of Corona! Not only is it a comic/book store? They also host concerts in their back room. My boyfriend is in one of the bands that played here which they've played once before. We recently got into comics and reading again so we went in to supper their bookstore. The staff was very welcoming and helpful when we walked in the store. There were so many book organized into their own sections. This made the book easier to look through. Recently I've been into horror book and that section did not disappoint. I ended up getting Stephen King's Pet Cemetery. The prices of the book were on the lower side which was very nice!. As for the concert aspect, it was another amazing hard core show. The bands were amazing and I have to give some love to the staff running the concert. A fight broke out and two members of the staff took care of it. They kicked the guy out who started it and was there for the guy that got hurt. Overall this is an amazing location and I will be back for another concert/book shopping session. read more

Had the opportunity to visit when they hosted a listening party for Bruno Mars' new album. The store itself has not only a wide variety of books and records, CDs and gifts, they also have a connected space in which they host the listening parties & live shows. The employees were welcoming, friendly and made the experience fun. They encouraged us to join their (free) rewards program via their website and follow them on instagram for updates and other events. I preordered the LP, and pricing is slightly higher than the Bruno Mars website, but I was happy to support a local business. Went for a BTS listening party of the new Arirang album. They handled the line well and distributed freebies/tickets to keep the order. The listening space in the back was cool, I liked the lights going on. Restroom was ok, I noticed the water pressure was weak at times. I didn't buy anything, but I thought the prices were reasonable. Parking was also ok, I found street parking pretty easily. My only complaint is they obviously didn't listen to the new album beforehand and didn't realize there was a soundtrack specifically meant to be a blank space. So the person replayed it twice. I understand it's confusing, but I would have expected them to at least listen before playing it. I am a more serious music listener though. Things like that do affect the mood of the event, but it's fine as everyone still seemed to enjoy the event. In the end, the vibe was good and it's a free space to enjoy music. DBZ is one of those destinations that upon first glance one might not think much of, however the absolute treasure of this hometown bookstore shines through in every aspect of its existence. As is the business name let's start with books; a massive selection of all genres ranging from the classics to post-modern and current with a team that goes above and beyond to make sure you have exactly what you're looking for. On the records side of things, they have carved out a unique niche and again are able to get a hold of anything an individual would want. In the event their physical inventory does not suffice, Dilver and team will special order whatever album or novel you might want. It will be in your hands within the week at functionally the same cost as any online retailer. In addition to what is immediately visible though, concerts are held at a little venue situated in the back of the store for up and coming local artists nearly every other Saturday with bigger names in the regional scene popping their heads in every so often. This combined with a recent expansion of the business into some newly renovated square footage makes for a third space in our community like very little else. I highly encourage anyone with a passion for literature and/or music to drop in and take a look. You won't be disappointed. read more

Hi! I went to DBZ Books and Records a couple of days ago. This is a nice, quaint, little bookstore in what I consider old town Corona. I went there because I have a bunch of old 45's and 78's I was looking to sell. The store is nice. The people working there even nicer! They don't deal much in the types of records I was trying to sell. But they were kind enough to send me to another used record store that does. I love both book and record stores so when I discovered there was one that was BOTH? Well that's what I call a must visit! Located right off of 6th St in Corona, DBZ Books N Records isn't the easiest place to find because if you blink you'll miss it. I also parked in the small strip mall nearby because they have about four designated parking spots on the side. DBZ looks pretty small from the outside but once you're inside you'll see they maxed every bit of space in there. New and used books, new and used records, movies, funkos, stickers and patches can be found here. Prices are overall pretty good and "unofficial" record releases are marked, which you don't see much. Much like anything it'll take a bit of effort to find what you want, but it makes the discovery all the more rewarding! Otherwise the friendly staff is more than willing to help answer your questions. If you like books and records, there's no reason you won't like DBZ. They have a nice selection with a bit of everything. They recently opened a new patio area to hold small concerts....I mean they are in close proximity from the old Showcase....ahhh, anyway. stopped in again for independent bookstore day! my partner and i searched high and low for the golden ticket to win a free year of audiobooks with libro.fm (an amazing alternative to audible btw) and found it tucked away in their horror/true crime section :) aside from that we picked up a couple of other goodies including some stickers and a rare copy of tolkien' smith of wooton major it was great stopping by and chatting with the owners who were just lovely folks! will be back soon read more

Super neat store here at Corona! We found it thanks to Yelp! This is a cute little place that has all sorts of unique and interesting things! They have kids' books, books, DVDs, vinyls, stickers, crochet things, and even floaties. It seems like it was an older house that's been converted to a store so there are some designated rooms that have its own theme. It's really just a neat place to browse around. They have some amazing book collections and some cool vinyls too. We ended up picking out one of the vinyl record home. There was just 1 staff that we saw that day but she was very friendly and welcoming. They also priced their items fairly. If you're in the area, I'd recommend that you check this neat little place out. read more

Great used book find! The staff was very helpful and friendly. This is a big store inside, the outside looks small and a little run down (it looks like it may not be open from the street). I was a little leery going in, but pretty ding dang surprised when I did. The parking isn't very good. The shelves are very neat and they sell collectibles too. I found a book I've been looking for for a couple years and it was ONLY $4! There was a wide selection of kids books too. They have a room full of vinyls and a section for collectibles. If you are looking for a particular book, collectible or vinyl, they can quickly tell you if they have it....it worked for me. I will definitely be back, this is a super find. This is another Barnes n noble store front. literally every vinyl is from target. they down grade trade in's and up front you to your face. We can do 60 for one vinyl minus the 10 others you brought but definitely we can sell that one for $200 in here and still take the other 10 vinyls you brought in so we can mark them up for $40 each don't bother coming here. The general stupidity age are typically range from 14 - 30. Be an actual punk burn this bitxh to the ground. read more

I got a record player for Christmas this year & was looking for somewhere local to start my collection. Found this place & decided to stop by. When I tell you this my new favorite store, I say this with all of my heart lol. Getting there, parking was easy. I strolled the store looking for records & fell into a hole of amazing books & a funky pop wall! I ended up spending a good amount of time inside of the store. Everywhere you look, there's awesome paintings of different characters on the wall. It was almost like playing a game! I walked to the counter with 4 albums and was greeted by two awesome people ( wish I would've gotten their names! ) We talked about my records & how they're opening a little venue on their patio in March! Fell in love with how friendly these people were and how welcoming they were. Great shop with records and books. I enjoyed browsing their selection of records. They have them organized by genre, which is very helpful. They also have lots of rolling bins below the bigger bins that offer even more selection. They had some on sale too and I was able to find a couple of nice records for a good price. They carry both used and new records. The day I went in they happen to be running a sale too. The staff was very welcoming and I would definitely visit again to browse some more. My review doesn't have anything to do with the books n records, my experience is solely with their music venue DBZ Backstage. I really wanted to enjoy a local venue in the I.E but I guess I forgot we are in Corona and Norco is a close neighbor and let's be honest these places aren't beating the colorism/racism allegations. Off the rip the security guard was being a prick. I noticed he wouldn't let two of the roadies for a performing band enter the venue without paying the $16 fee even though they were clearly carrying music equipment. Then a friend tried to re-enter the venue after coming outside to meet us and he refused to let her back in without paying the $16 fee AGAIN. He kept referring to the large sign that said NO REENTRY and I get it, rules are rules but that place was empty -- like less than 15-20 people in that entire venue. It was giving GREEDY. He could've easily let her back in with a warning. He was also very unwelcoming to our 5 person party and I wonder if it was because we were the only people of color in the venue. Either way, we won't be back. The sound sucked too! read more

Very extensive collection of books, manga, CDs, vinyl records, and many more. The entire store feels like a clumped up maze of different rooms all glued together. Each room has its own little theme of decorations relating to the merch inside it. For a pre-owned store, they price their items as brand/new or retail. Some individual collectors CDs can range between $30-50. Some signed stuff can range for over $100 or more. This is less of a "used" store and more of a shop for rare collectors items with a premium price tag. You can find some clearance sections but most of the books and mangas are priced much higher than you would at Goodwill or Salvation Army. It's better to just shop around and look for stuff you can buy cheaper on Amazon, ebay, or Mercari. Place is huge but they only have one AC located by the register. So, it can get pretty hot during the summer. read more

I just love the vibe of a good used book and record store, and this place has some real gems--like an original black-covered hardback of "JAWS," and original issues of Starlog magazine (my monthly bible as a teenager). I went there to sell some of my movie, DVDs and music CDs and they did buy maybe about five or six of them. I didn't get much for it, but it was better than throwing them away. This place is a very cute place. There is a whole bunch of things there I'd like to come back and just walk around and take a look because they seem to have a lot of things there record CDs movies books really nice and the people that were serving me were really nice and pleasant. Easy parking in the back and street parking, welcoming staff, and pleasant atmosphere. It's as if they love what they do! It's a small shop but they packed it with quite a bit to search through. Most books are pre-owned but they do have some new stuff. I was interested in VHS but didn't see many. The music room has so many records and not one of them was trash-- all were definitely collectible and you can play them! That room is too small for what it is though. Would like to see records and music moved out into the main area so people have more room to search. They gave us a free gift and I signed up for their club. read more

So excited to have found this record store here in Corona! I spent over an hour browsing and left with a couple TS vinyls brand new and on sale. The owner was so friendly and helpful. My only gripe is that I hate Sixth St so the location is rough, it's always filled with shady characters. But once I was in the store I felt safe and sound. Found this little treasure not too far away from my home. Great little shop and when I walked in extremely pleasant workers. It looks like a family run shop. The front of it makes it look like a small property but once you walk inside it satellites out to different wings. It's actually quite huge. They had an array of absolutely everything from new books to old finals records, cassette tapes, CDs a little bit of comic books. It was really cool to just wander around and take a look at everything. I spent about 30 minutes there and saw a few items I thought were of interest. When I started looking at the prices of these items, I was shocked. I love going to shops like these specifically for being able to try new books in records and artist and publishers and writers you would not normally try because the prices are reasonable and it does not hurt the pocketbook that much if you do not like what you purchased. That is not the case with this shop. The price is in this shop are pretty high. Hence the four stars to set of five. For example, rush moving pictures vinyl they wanted $40 for it. You can buy a brand new one off eBay for 28. For Dan and Dean vinyl they wanted $15 for it. I went to the CD collection average price was five dollars for the large majority of them and a few they want it over $10. I was just a little disappointed at the prices that's all. When I asked the worker if I bought enough if the prices were negotiable, I was told no the prices are hard set. I walked out buying one book probably spent too much for it, but I wanted it. I will probably go back if I really need something and don't mind spending more than it's worth otherwise I'll wait and get it from a different location, but it is still a great place to look around. read more

By far one of the best thrift book stores I've ever been to. Not to mention the owner is super friendly and helpful! He's constantly making sure customers are finding everything they need or asking if there's anything in particular they might be looking for. The store is also always super clean and well organized. They opened up more space now too so, it looks like almost everything in the store has their own particular section which is nice. Makes it even easier to find stuff you might be interested in! The prices here are also really good for each quality of book, movies, CDS, and records. Which I personally love because often stores upsell products that look like they're ready to fall apart or simply don't make sense with pricing. All in all, I highly recommend coming here.
