Upon walking up the Get Lit Books & Things' storefront in the mall, I was drawn to the colorful window book displays as well as the colorful entrance sign. Upon hubby and I entering the bookstore, we were warmly greeted and enjoyed watching a "Unicorn Storytime" led by store owner Ruthie. Ruthie's storytime event was engaging to the children in attendance and used such catchy songs even my husband (who is a preschool teacher) was dancing during one of the children song breaks. I was impressed by the organization of the books, clearly designed spaces for kids, teens, and adults, the variety of new and used books for sale. As a reader of spicy romance, I especially appreciated that the store has a separate area in the back with romance books classified as Not Safe For Littles (NSFL.) Although hubby doesn't usually buy books on my bookstore trips, I was delighted when I saw that he found books to share with his students. While friendly staff, reasonably priced books, numerous places to sit and enough reading, colorful artwork on the walls, and snacks for sale in case you like to eat while you engage with a book you've purchased, we will definitely be visiting this gem of a bookstore again soon.

Downtowne Bookstore is in Riverside. It is the nicest bookstore with a huge selection of books and…read moresome gifts. They have new and used books and have it all from history to novels. It is family owned and a true independent book store. The owner is wonderful and the staff is just great. They have good prices and I bet they have what you want. It is clean and well organized and if you need help, they will help you. They pretty much know everything they have. If they don't have a book you want they will order it for you.

La Bomba is such a fun store. They carry vintage clothes and newer clothing for nostalgic people…read more(like me!) The owner, Ace, is so lovely! She started a conversation with me and treated me like an old friend. She told me all about the fun places to visit in town and had a lot of recommendations. I loved Ace's store and my teenager loved it, too. I definitely recommend checking this shop out when you're in Riverside. It's a gem.
