Small, not very holiday inspired venders. It's basically arts and craft markets with holiday lights.

I tried two restaurants, one Hawaiian/Filipino and the other Vietnamese. They were both delicious and no notes. I wish I had more time to explore this place because my first impression was so positive! I definitely plan on coming back when in the area!

Everyone was very polite and/or enthusiastic to help us, and it was pretty packed even though it was very cold outside. The costs of everything were definitely a bit overpriced, but what else can one expect from a place as such in DC? The two of us got the BBQ ribs with a side of mac n' cheese, and an order of the crab cake sandwich alongside some skinny fries. The ribs were too dry and oversalted, and came with a similarly-dry cube of cornbread and a small cup of pickle slices atop a small scoop of coleslaw, of which none were finished due to the disappointment in taste and texture. The mac n' cheese was a bit gritty, and could definitely use more cheese and/or cheese sauce, but was decent. The crab cake sandwich was fantastic in both texture and taste, and was gobbled up within a minute, and the fries were also picked clean, being very freshly made with just the right amount of frying time. Will definitely come back to try more options, especially the very highly recommended donuts!

Of all the farmers markets nearby on a Saturday morning, my partner and I decided on Half Street…read more It's dog friendly and open later than most farm markets (9am-1:30pm) which were two major reasons that led us here. It's right by the Nationals stadium, as well as really great food places like Andy's pizza, sweet green, cava, Rasa, and Atlas brewery. You can truly make a whole trip and afternoon out of it. The market itself has a really nice variety, with some vendors that give out samples. Expect to find fresh local produce, homemade candles, flowers, micro greens, handmade pasta, teas made from tea masters, wild caught fish, uncured meats, raw local honey, and delicious eats on the go like empanadas, sandwiches, pastries and fresh coffee. There's also live music and places to sit in the middle of the market. Be wary of the parking situation. If you're lucky you can find some parking; if not be prepared to park far. It's also right off the green line if you decide to metro instead. Highly recommend Half Street Farmer's Market!

It definitely helps that there's another market closer to me now, instead of having to go all the way over to the Eastern market. This is definitely a scale down version of the Eastern market, but definitely worth the visit. Ironically, I visited this market and the Easter market on the same day. I really love both of these markets!
