Scratches are deemed as acceptable!…read more This company were brilliant when ordering & delivering the product, the issue started when we needed 2 badly scratched decking boards exchanging! We ordered 22, 4.8mtr decking boards, 2 were unusable - I am 6 foot tall & can clearly see the bad scratches without having to bend down. QUOTE FROM FYLDEGRASS - " Thanks for the photos, the boards look fine to me, do you agree? And thus the boards are acceptable....especially considering they are 4.8mtrs long. Nonetheless I've authorised them to be substituted with new boards, hopefully they will be ok" We did not agree & thought the length was irrelevant but accepted the 2 replacement boards as we mentioned that we wanted to order more in the future for the bottom of our garden. We asked for the 2 replacement boards to match our existing colour. QUOTE FROM FYLDEGRASS - " You can't see the scratches, you aren't being neither fair or reasonable. They are not deemed defective or faulty & aren't eligible for replacement or refund, end of. With the greatest of respect to you we politely decline any future business from you. It's impossible for the replacement boards to be anywhere near matching as they'll be a different production run. I really don't see multiple scratches in your photos. I do feel you are going a little OTT here, it's an outdoor product. As the world knows with building materials you always order more than you require to allow for this. It's not a kitchen worktop where you expect perfection." We did not want anymore of the nastiness in the email we were receiving so we ended by saying we did not agree & we would be very fair but honest in our Google review. In our opinion, if you are buying a brand new product it should arrive in new condition. There was no extortion, all we wanted was what we paid for - nothing more, nothing less.
