I've been trying to get to this location for some time! Every time I drive by it's closed. Today it's around 3pm and I noticed the parking lot was full, so I found parking and walked up to the store and the sign said "closed" I opened the door and walked in. The cashier stated they were closed because of some kitchen issues. I indicated I wanted to purchase cake, which she said she could sell. First impression walking into the place of business, very nice decor and clean. It's quaint in size but adequate for a gathering or date night. I could smell the chicken or fish cooking it was kinda smoky in the sense it would be on my clothes after I left, of which it was. Maybe the exhaust was the problem, I don't know! The cake counter was looking amazing! The selection of strawberry, lemon, chocolate and German chocolate cake gave me many options. I asked the price for a miniature Bundt cake and I thought she said $2.50 it's 6 inches yall...so that's a good price. I made my selection of 2 cakes which look like 2 servings (one for me and one for hubby) when I checked out she said $21 for the cake. What you say???? I didn't hear correctly. I think that's too much for a miniature cake.. maybe it's just me. Nothing bundt cakes the miniature aren't even $10 a piece. So with my registered shock face, I asked her to put one back! I purchased 1 just to show support but honestly I don't think I will ever pay that again. I didn't eat the wings but the cake was okay not sure if this would be my first choice for desert! read more

Absolutely worth the drive! I started out in the direction of another area with a similar address, called and the owner guided me to their location which is just across from the Remington race track. Nice, clean, spot with the most amazing cakes! I tried the butter cake and it was flavorful, fluffy, and moist, simply delicious. Ok, so I actually went for wings and they didn't disappoint. I had the wet habanero mango and dry lemon pepper...delish! I couldn't resist, had some on the drive back so the pic I'm sharing is missing a couple lol! The wings were hot, flavorful, and freshly made to order. These brothers are bringing the wings and cakes. Ordered the 2 piece catfish & fries , & also got 2 kinds of wings. Fish was very good, fries were amazing. There could have been more sauce on the wings & I wish the ranch was homemade. Also, no tartar sauce offered with the fish- but it tasted so good it wasn't needed. Great vibes- Netflix was on, music playing, we felt right at home! Awesome service, super friendly, we were brought a delicious sample piece of their homemade scratch cake & we were sold- we had to get a chocolate bundt cake to-go! Catfish plate is a great deal. They're using channel cat to ensure that the inside is as juicy as the outside is crispy. Hushpuppies, fries, cole slaw -- all top-notch. The cinnamon cake piece was perfect, as well. What a treat to finish off a meal. The owner comes out and talks to customers frequently, and he's happy to share information and listen to opinions, which is the sign he's running the business right. It's a very relaxing place to have lunch. Nice soundtrack going, temperature comfortable, and everyone there is attentive. I hope they get some more exposure, because I think it's a hidden gem. Can't wait to go back and try a different kind of cake and maybe those chicken strips and potato salad. Everything looks so good, it's hard to choose! read more

Fantastic catfish and wings! Went in with my wife and was instantly charmed. Got the Lemon Pepper and Cajun wings and was thoroughly impressed. Wings didn't taste "artificial" at all and had a real good Lemon Pepper taste without being overpowering. Catfish was cooked amazingly as well. Cashier gave us a free slice of "Sock-it-to-Me" cake (not pictured) and it was just right! Not too sweet. Excellent wings! Larger than typical pieces, great flavor and did I mention the sauces? They are incredible! Fries are also very good. Got a pineapple upside down cake that was also off the charts with flavor. Went back the next day to try the 2 piece catfish that comes with fries and hushpuppies. Catfish has big flavor and these are the best hushpuppies I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Bottom line is DC Wings and Cakes is a must try restaurant. Great people and a very nice restaurant. I made it to the grand opening and was very impressed with the feel and how friendly everyone was. And the food was on point.
