One month before my wedding, without ever having had a trial session, Abby abruptly canceled our contract. Though she promptly returned my deposit and gave me the names of a few studios that "may have some last-minute availability," she left me in the lurch with only a few weeks to go before my wedding. Knowing I would have to scramble to find a replacement, if I could even find one, during a highly stressful time was devastating. After a while I decided to get my face painted, and my main reason was just to make my kids jealous (I know right.) There were several designs that were laid out on the table, or I guess I could have had something made up, but I choose Iron Man. With the design, I was given the choice of gold or yellow, and I picked gold since it was more like the original. The entire process was relatively easy and Cassandra has the most gentle touch. It was so gentle you could barely feel her hand. She was excited while doing the painting and liked the fact that it was my first time ever getting my face painted. I was impressed with the quality of the work. After everything was done I was told that I could eat, drink or do whatever I wanted with the paint on and it was non toxic. When I went to wash the paint off, there was no scrubbing required, but it did take a few washes since I did use a deep red, and I wanted to make sure I wouldn't stain my pillows. I would recommend Cassandra G of Character Paints. Maybe the next time I go to Animazement or something I will give her a call to see what she can do.

Since I have no horse in race to ACC championship I have decided to forgo any shade blue or red or gold or crimson or orange and picked some nontraditional facade, and since my ultimate Marvel superhero is Spider-man, and it is amazingly available, albeit in the traditional red mask on the selection sheet, I decided for one night I shall be the friendly neighborhood crime fighter. Cassandra is a master at her craft, even if I had thrown in a curve-ball and wanted a superhero split personality, spidey on one side, venom on the other. Have you seen my new profile picture? I could hear a man in the back talking on the phone and I first thought that was my stylist, so I said "hello...hello" but no response. He continues to talk on the phone. So, I looked around the lobby for a minute and then took a seat. I called Quavis at 9:55 to let him know I was at the salon. He said he was on his way and was running late. So, I sat there for a few more minutes and a young lady arrived (another stylist) and she asked if I was being helped and I told her that I was waiting on Quavis and I called him and he stated that he was running late. She nodded her head up and down and reiterated that she wanted to make sure I had been helped. I thanked her and after a few more minutes (10:13am to be exact), I called Quavis back and asked how much longer would he be because I didn't know if I needed to reschedule. He said that was up to me but he was coming up the stairs. When he got to the salon, he grumbled "good morning I'll be with you shortly" (or in a minute...or something like that). At that point, I was not feeling this appointment! So, after pondering for a moment, I walked towards the back where he went and called his name (because I was going to cancel the appointment). He didn't answer, so I went back out front and removed my name from the sign in sheet. When he came back out to the lobby, I told him I'd need to cancel or reschedule because we were already behind schedule. He looked me up and down and said "well if that's what you want to do...". I asked him if he was ok this morning. He said yes. I said that I didn't get an apology or anything and told him I'd removed my name from the sign in sheet. I told him to have a good day and left. I was very disappointed because I was expecting so much more from this salon. I'm sure the owner would be unhappy to know that this is how one of her stylists treats new customers.
