I took my 2-year-old in for a trim and left extremely disappointed…read more At the start, I clearly said I wanted to keep the top longer and showed a reference photo (low taper fade with length on top). When she asked about going short on the sides, I clarified again that I wanted the top left long. The sides were taken much higher than expected, and once she started cutting the top, there was no saving it. The length I had been growing out for a year was gone within seconds. Afterward, she asked, "How does it look?" I said, "I wanted it longer on top." She responded, "Oh, I thought you wanted it as short as possible so I kept going shorter and shorter." That was never communicated. Now I've got an Avatar Aang and not a Saja Boy! Not cool. I understand my toddler was crying and moving, but this was not just a difficult haircut--it was a clear misunderstanding of a very specific request, even with a reference photo. Given the outcome was the opposite of what was requested, I don't feel this service reflects what was agreed upon. I would appreciate the business reaching out to address this.

When I got there, her stylist was an older Indian woman that didn't know how to do braids. I asked her several times to make her braids tighter so her hair wouldn't fall apart. She told me she couldn't ,and finally the manager Kristin stepped in and was able to braid her hair . This was a disaster and we will not be coming back here They should know in advance is capable of doing hairstyles before booking the appointment .

I'm on the fence with Snip-it's…read more First of all, this location is conveniently located in Rice Village on Rice University across From Velvet Taco. There is free parking, but parking is tight if you go during lunch time, weekends, etc. I came here because it was my 22 month old's first "real" haircut. When I say real haircut, I mean, not me trying to clean it up and butchering it. The price seems reasonable for a first haircut. I'm sure I could have gone to Supercuts or somewhere else for a cheaper cut. We went during winter break, during the week, so it was pretty much dead. As soon as I walked in, I was like oh no! This place is not only for haircuts, but it's a toy store, ugh! I knew what I was Getting into. I'll get to that part at the end. Amy, I believe was her name, did a beautiful job getting my son to relax and not stress out about his haircut. I mean she was just amazing with him. I was able to sit in a chair in front of him to help keep him chill as well. There was also a tv and he got to watch Bluey. But quite honestly, he was more interested in looking in the mirror and seeing what was going on. He moved a little at the end when she was trying to clean up the back and sides, so I'm sure it wasn't totally easy. But it's not like he was all over the place. When we checked out, she gave us this credit card looking thing to put in a slot so he could get a prize. It was a sticker, cool enough, he loves sticker. It came in one of those clear egg type containers. You might as well have just given him a sticker and not wasted the container. He would have been just as happy. When it was time to leave he started screaming because he couldn't take a stuffed animal home, which of course was for sale. I had to deal with the screaming until we drove off. I understand places like this. Want to make a little extra money... But for a toddler who doesn't understand that he can't have a toy is insanely annoying for a parent. That's was one of my huge annoyances with the place. Secondly, his haircut was just okay. Some places in the back were kinda choppy and around his ears aren't perfect, but for the most part it was pretty good. Like I said, it can't be easy cutting a 22 month old's hair. I would have taken him back but I didn't want to deal with the 'screaming for toy." I'm on the fence about going back. I've had some friends recommend some regular places to get your haircut and employees that do a great job with kids. But just to be clear, Amy did a wonderful job keeping him chill for his first experience with getting a haircut. It was the high stimulation with the toys that did it for me.
