There were issues with a piece of equipment he rented-not his fault, that prolonged the project by many weeks. At the end, he gave us a new quote of 30,000. He stated this was for hours worked and many more days than originally needed. Unfortunately we didn't pay attention to days he was there, hours nor crew. There were days he didn't come, his crew would be there for an hour or so and we didn't keep track. Not once did he mention how much more it would be. He made a statement that he'd have to rent the equipment longer and that would increase the price, but that was all. We used our entire savings, and had to pull out 10,000 from our 401K to pay him. We now have a dirt lot we can't do anything with due to no funds. The work itself isn't bad. The job was well done. But I'd keep track of exact hours, crews and make everything written down in the contract. This destroyed us financially.

I just wanted to mention some highlights of working with LAP Demolition: 1) Luis came out the same day I called him to give me a quote and sent me the estimate right when he said he would. 2) The quote was significantly cheaper than any of the other quotes we had gotten, and the quote was written very clearly so we could see exactly what we were paying for. 3) Luis was very helpful and friendly and pointed out helpful details, such as suggesting we leave the support boards on the house until we could get stucco work to repair the exterior. He was also very flexible about the date of the demo as we wanted to schedule it for two weeks out, rather than doing it immediately. 4) Luis and his crew arrived right on time the day of and completed everything within about 4.5 hours. They brought their own portable toilet and were very efficient and tidy. They even swept up any sawdust left over and hauled everything away. We really appreciate the high-quality work that Luis and his crew did and we now have a blank slate for our future house projects.
