I had a double wall oven along with a built-in microwave that I needed to recycle. I called EDCO but they charge $40 or $50 to pick up appliances from your residence and I had to wait a couple of weeks. I wanted them gone sooner. I called up Lee's and they said that they could take it and that help would be offered to unload it. I went this morning and got waited the scales before and after unloading the items and was out of there inunder 5 minutes. I even got paid a few dollars for the materials. They are nice people and it was a quick and easy transaction. I definitely recommend them if you are able to load your items into a vehicle. Thankfully my SUV was just big enough :-) read more

6 weeks ago, I was promised a check would be mailed to me for the balance of money owed to me for recycling. This is normal( payment delay) when recycling copper over $20( thanks crackheads)... I went there for a piece of steel and found the place very friendly and helpful. I did not go to the recycling area so I have no opinion of that. I did make a mistake on what I wanted and even after the cut, they exchanged it for me. They will sell short lengths of steel. Not chromoly. read more

I've been to Lee's many times. They're always very nice and friendly to me.

Wish I could show negative stars. Had a great piece of copper from a solar water heater removal. Talked with someone who works collecting scrap and was told I should ask what the basis of the price I was quoted ($1/lb.) was. Guy at Lee's with a smirk told me it was the sheet copper price but he could check the photo. He wouldn't let me see the photo and came back and said the price stands and that in the future I needed to find him so he could help me make money. What!! This is a one time roof replacement and I'll never take my valuable recycles to these people. Read the other posts, a RIP!!! read more

I called in advance for copper , brass pricing and they we're 3 cents lower but my drive was cut in half . , unloaded the truck for me , friendly staff , and I was out of there in under 15 minutes . Check I received was 180.00 over what I expected . My scale was obviously off and their weight was accurate . Lee's scrap metal is the only place I'm going in the future . I went there over a year ago and the place was a bit chaotic , understandibly , new concrete being poured and new office building under construction . I can relate to that with my own biz . Streamlined as it is , I don't like to wait and appreciate fair pricing . I'm not going anywhere else . read more

I recycled my old iron railings, and got $14 for them. I thought I would get maybe $3 max. Anyway, my top rating is because: 1) they lift the metal recyclables with a HUGE magnet off your truck, so you have to do NOTHING, they do all the work. 2) but the main reason for my rating is that this place is very unique you pretty much find yourself on a movie set, crime or horror movie. Piles of junk, huge machinery, really it should be rated as a movie set not as a junk/recycle yard! 3) you can spend an hour marveling at the huge crane with the huge magnet swinging around and your adrenaline will skyrocket. At first I almost run off, then I ended up making videos. Cool crazy place. And very nice friendly staff. read more

if i can give them negative star i will do that. We had them picking lots of metal parts from our company, they will show up after you call for three time. They have bad attitude and rude conversation. They take forever to issue a check and yet issuing to the wrong name and not sending a replacement check! Horrible business read more

I've been going to Lee's Iron and Metal since 2012 and never had a complaint until this year. 1. This spring I came in with more plastic caps then I had plastic bottles and the main CRV employee had half of a conniption fit and almost didn't allow me to turn them in. There is nothing posted on their site about this rule. 2. 7-27-18 I brought in 1.4 # of #2 bright copper the female cashier asked me where my car was so I pointed out my bicycle. She said I need to arrive in a car to cash in copper. Is this kind of discrimination even legal? read more

This place is a joke! If your recycling cans maby theyve figured out how that works , but do not take copper here! First off the idiots who weigh your scrap have no clue what the per lb. price on any of the wire types are because it seems like they can just make up whatever price they feel like at the moment! I scraped bare bright #1 and the only wanted to pay $1.60lb! The second portion was unstripped 12 and 14g same wire and they tried paying just .30cents a pound! So you weigh in and get a slip then walk 100 ft over to the payout booth and thats when you find out what they feel like paying you. After being paid and walking back towards the scales i asked the idiot there how much per lb for cat 5? He says 30-60cents a lb! I ask how much for the romex? He answers the same thing and continues to say he doesnt really know i have to ask at the payout spot. I thought he just made a mistake and categorized it wrong. I walk back to the payout spot and i ask if there is a list somewhere or a sheet that classifies types and prices paid? She wanted me to contact the owner of the buisness. The young man who initally rang me up comes walking up, at this point one of the guys that helps weigh had brought a small piece of coated 12gauge solid core strand up to the counter. I told them the price on the bright and shiny was very low, but okay. How is it you are paying only 30cents a pound for the unstripped and 160for stripped? You should atleast be paying 80% of 1.60 for unstripped . Its the exact same wire! So he nods and pretends to understand and then the girl proceeds to take my innital payment of 16 dollars and change, rerings me up under the exact same category on the unclean wire as they call it #1 insulated wire at .90 cents a pound so my total of 10 lbs clean and 6 1/2 insulated rang up to a grand total of $24.90! They just made a price up on the spot! They hand me my $20 and ofcourse in order to get my remainding 4.90 i must drive back in 3 days from now! This is not how a buisness is conducted and ran. These guys are as crooked as it gets! Do not go here this place should be shut down! read more
