Sooooo good! Just got done with a stay in Madrid... and I went to De Maria two nights in a row because of how good it was Food : Amazing... Dulce Vida , is amazing ... the high loin steak was very flavorful. Ambiance : great! Intimate, and the dining experience was upscale! Also very economical!

So, I'm thinking our visit tonight was a different location than my last visit. There was no outdoor seating here. Maria was our waitress and was amazing. She had many tables to cover and did such a nice job with us. She's very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Our food was very well prepared, we were all pleased. I can see bringing my coworkers back to this location again,

The service was great. The atmosphere was wonderful for our last dinner in Madrid. The food service was fast but we were not rushed. Best of all was the food and the extra appetizers and after dinner drinks that were provided at no extra cost.

Best service. Best meal. There's no way you won't like this place. I had been in Madrid a few days and took my wife here one night. We both loved it. Both of us ordered pasta. Deserts were wonderful. Very pleased.

So delicious steak what I ever had in Spain. Very fresh salad and price is reasonable. Excellent services.

The portions in this place would make any American restaurant goer proud! We were well greeted and welcomed inside this well decorated restaurant with a pristine looking kitchen. Excellent ribeye steak, mushroom pasta, caprese salad, potatoes and broccoli, grilled chicken. Go check it out and you won't be disappointed! And a surprise awaits you in the end!

Free desserts!

If you are in Madrid. Go Here for dinner. PERIOD. The ambiance is excellent sitting right off of a major plaza so lots to see in terms of people watching. The wait staff was very attentive, but did not "hover" (which my wife hates). Without ruining "the surprise", they give you a lot free here (see my pictures for hints). It's more than just being free, the surprises make the dinner magical as you're constantly being delivered items at the table unexpectedly. We will come back next time in España!

Mango Champagne that they served to us and charged us without us ordering it...

I came upon De Maria Parrilla while I was in Madrid for my birthday weekend with friends. Our first night there we were all anxious to eat some delicious Spanish food so we stumbled upon this restaurant called De Maria Parrilla near Plaza del Sol. It turned out to be a super expensive place. Upon arrival they gave us champagne that they said was on the house, and a bunch of assorted bread and smear. It was pretty good actually. I of course ordered the seafood paella. When the waitress came to deliver my paella she burned my arm with the hot sizzler plate! It hurt so bad and I still have a scab from it. I was kind of pissed but I didn't say anything to the manager. Other than the sucky service of the place the food was delicious. Well at least most of it, for dessert they gave us mango champagne and I ordered cheesecake. The cheesecake honestly wasn't that good, I think they might have used cottage cheese to make it. Eww. It was really lumpy. When our bill came it totaled 105 euros! **CHEESCAKE TIP FOR LIFE: IF IT'S NOT FROM PHILADELPHIA, IT'S NOT CREAM CHEESE! You cannot make cheesecake with cottage cheese that's so gross! It was such a memorable dinner because so many funny things happened! I regret that we didn't take a group photo at the restaurant. We were meaning to but the waiters weren't that friendly so I didn't have a chance to ask anyone to take our picture. The waiters just kept racking up our bill but it was still enjoyable!

We have mixed feelings about our recent visit to De Maria at this location. It was an early dinner for Madrid standards on a Saturday night. A few tables were open on the terrace, so my partner and our buddy were seated for dinner around 8:45pm. After 15 minutes, we received bread and complementary gazpacho soup in a shot glass. After another 15 minutes our order was taken. Once we finished our bread, the olive oil and balsamic for the bread was delivered. Wine and cocktails were delivered about 45 minutes after we were seated. It was obvious that our waitress was overwhelmed. To the rescue was 'Ramiro'. He took over as our waiter and the rest of the meal went smoother. We ordered the skirt steak, sirloin steak and grilled ribs in addition to side salads which were huge. The steaks were cooked to order, but lacked flavor. The ribs were meaty and slightly charred which made them tasty. The evening ended with delicious lemon pie and Flan. Complementary after dinner drinks and fruity sorbet made for a pleasant evening out.

The food was good and the service is unmatched. It was a perfect ended my to our time in Madrid. A somewhat quite place to enjoy a late dinner. They served us a glass of Cava and gazpacho as soon as we were seated along with some good bread too.

Located a few blocks…read moreeast of Puerta del Sol, it's nice because there are no hordes of people you have to navigate to find it. This is a place for people who appreciate their food and the experience, not for the tourist masses that are looking to get fed quick and cheap. It is an interesting set up as they have dining rooms on both sides of the street. I was in the one on the east side of the street and taken downstairs into the basement which has the looks of a refurbished ancient cellar. I had a 2 top in the corner to myself with a great view of the room so I could appreciate what everyone else was eating. I had a very civilized time. Frenetic Tapas this is not. There are white linen tablecloths present, a small container of housemade chimichurri, menus on line, great wi-fi service, a full bar and wine list, and menus that are bovine centric. I had an Argentine Negroni (the Argentine nod is due to a splash of Fernet Branca giving it a slight minty taste on the back end) and a glass of affordable, high ranking Tempranillo. These were perfect with the olive and bread starters with EVOO/Spanish vinegar on the table to mix to taste and also served with compounded butter. I was there to eat and the Mollejas (veal sweetbreads) are a must in my opinion. They are listed as a house specialty and come on a charcoal heated sizzle plate served with a side of broad flaked sea salt to finish to taste. Crispy edges and creamy textures throughout with a hit of grilled lemon and they were simply sublime. I also took down an Entraña (skirt steak) that seemed larger than its described 300 grams. Also served on a sizzle plate it was perfectly cooked by some expert grill guys upstairs. To ensure that I ate something with color, I had a salad on the side that I dressed to taste with the EVOO/Spanish vinegar on the table. The service here is friendly, professional, and not overbearing. My meal was about $85 USD which is pricey by typical Madrid eating standards but it was worth it considering the quality, quantity, and variety of what I experienced. I would be happy to go back here again any time I'm in the area!

From the centuries-old brick walls to the original wood-fired oven that has been in continuous use for nearly 300 years, every corner is filled with history. Watching the chefs prepare meals in that famous oven was an unforgettable experience. The service was warm, welcoming, and professional. The staff clearly takes pride in preserving the traditions of this remarkable restaurant while making every guest feel at home. Of course, we had to order the famous roast suckling pig, and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. The skin was perfectly crisp while the meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. We also shared the wild mushrooms, which were simple, earthy, and delicious. Botín isn't about trendy food or elaborate presentations. It's about experiencing authentic Spanish cuisine in a place that has been serving guests since 1725. That authenticity is what makes it so special. It feels like you're eating inside an old wine cellar, with beautiful brick-vaulted ceilings, stone walls, and a cozy atmosphere that makes the experience feel very traditional and distinctly Spanish. We ordered the Iberian ham croquettes, the grilled goat cheese salad, and a charcoal-grilled steak with roasted potatoes and Padrón peppers. The croquettes were okay, but they were easily the least memorable dish of the meal. The goat cheese salad was excellent, with creamy, lightly grilled cheese that paired perfectly with the fresh vegetables. The steak was the standout. It was cooked exactly as requested, flavorful, tender, and served with delicious roasted potatoes and peppers. The staff were friendly, attentive, and never rushed us, making for a relaxed dinner from start to finish. I'm giving it 4 stars because one of the starters didn't quite live up to the rest of the meal, but the atmosphere, service, and quality of the steak more than made up for it. If you're looking for classic Castilian cuisine in a unique cellar-like setting near Madrid's major attractions, La Mi Venta is definitely worth a visit.
