So, I'm thinking our visit tonight was a different location than my last visit. There was no outdoor seating here. Maria was our waitress and was amazing. She had many tables to cover and did such a nice job with us. She's very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Our food was very well prepared, we were all pleased. I can see bringing my coworkers back to this location again,

The service was great. The atmosphere was wonderful for our last dinner in Madrid. The food service was fast but we were not rushed. Best of all was the food and the extra appetizers and after dinner drinks that were provided at no extra cost.

Best service. Best meal. There's no way you won't like this place. I had been in Madrid a few days and took my wife here one night. We both loved it. Both of us ordered pasta. Deserts were wonderful. Very pleased.

So delicious steak what I ever had in Spain. Very fresh salad and price is reasonable. Excellent services.

The portions in this place would make any American restaurant goer proud! We were well greeted and welcomed inside this well decorated restaurant with a pristine looking kitchen. Excellent ribeye steak, mushroom pasta, caprese salad, potatoes and broccoli, grilled chicken. Go check it out and you won't be disappointed! And a surprise awaits you in the end!

Free desserts!

If you are in Madrid. Go Here for dinner. PERIOD. The ambiance is excellent sitting right off of a major plaza so lots to see in terms of people watching. The wait staff was very attentive, but did not "hover" (which my wife hates). Without ruining "the surprise", they give you a lot free here (see my pictures for hints). It's more than just being free, the surprises make the dinner magical as you're constantly being delivered items at the table unexpectedly. We will come back next time in España!

Mango Champagne that they served to us and charged us without us ordering it...

I came upon De Maria Parrilla while I was in Madrid for my birthday weekend with friends. Our first night there we were all anxious to eat some delicious Spanish food so we stumbled upon this restaurant called De Maria Parrilla near Plaza del Sol. It turned out to be a super expensive place. Upon arrival they gave us champagne that they said was on the house, and a bunch of assorted bread and smear. It was pretty good actually. I of course ordered the seafood paella. When the waitress came to deliver my paella she burned my arm with the hot sizzler plate! It hurt so bad and I still have a scab from it. I was kind of pissed but I didn't say anything to the manager. Other than the sucky service of the place the food was delicious. Well at least most of it, for dessert they gave us mango champagne and I ordered cheesecake. The cheesecake honestly wasn't that good, I think they might have used cottage cheese to make it. Eww. It was really lumpy. When our bill came it totaled 105 euros! **CHEESCAKE TIP FOR LIFE: IF IT'S NOT FROM PHILADELPHIA, IT'S NOT CREAM CHEESE! You cannot make cheesecake with cottage cheese that's so gross! It was such a memorable dinner because so many funny things happened! I regret that we didn't take a group photo at the restaurant. We were meaning to but the waiters weren't that friendly so I didn't have a chance to ask anyone to take our picture. The waiters just kept racking up our bill but it was still enjoyable!

We have mixed feelings about our recent visit to De Maria at this location. It was an early dinner for Madrid standards on a Saturday night. A few tables were open on the terrace, so my partner and our buddy were seated for dinner around 8:45pm. After 15 minutes, we received bread and complementary gazpacho soup in a shot glass. After another 15 minutes our order was taken. Once we finished our bread, the olive oil and balsamic for the bread was delivered. Wine and cocktails were delivered about 45 minutes after we were seated. It was obvious that our waitress was overwhelmed. To the rescue was 'Ramiro'. He took over as our waiter and the rest of the meal went smoother. We ordered the skirt steak, sirloin steak and grilled ribs in addition to side salads which were huge. The steaks were cooked to order, but lacked flavor. The ribs were meaty and slightly charred which made them tasty. The evening ended with delicious lemon pie and Flan. Complementary after dinner drinks and fruity sorbet made for a pleasant evening out.

The food was good and the service is unmatched. It was a perfect ended my to our time in Madrid. A somewhat quite place to enjoy a late dinner. They served us a glass of Cava and gazpacho as soon as we were seated along with some good bread too.

When I found out I was coming to Madrid I had to book a table. First things first, my suggestion is book way in advance. This place fills up fast. My friend and I waited too long and the only seating we could get was at 11:15 PM. No big deal though there's plenty of places you can get a light snack in the surrounding area while exploring the city. Walking in, the architecture immediately hits you. Low ceilings, gorgeous old brick, tight dining rooms, it really feels like you stepped back in time. The whole atmosphere is elevated without being stiff. Staff was super friendly and made the experience feel smooth from start to finish. There's also apprently a really nice wine cellar at the bottom I overheard other patrons bragging about. Food wise, I will keep it real, it was good, just not my favorite meal in Madrid. The sangria was solid, definitely one of my highlights. The croquettes were fire. Crispy, creamy, exactly what you want. My friend's seafood casserole was actually really good too, I lowkey wish I went that route. Now the misses. The sautéed vegetables with Iberian ham didn't do it for me. The veggies needed seasoning bad, and the ham leaned a little too salty, so together it just felt off. The suckling pig, the signature dish, was good, but I was not blown away. If I find myself returning here, I would explore other options. After dinner, there was a little show and they let you keep a souvenir menu, which was a nice touch and made the night feel more memorable. Overall I had a solid 3.5 star experience rounded up to 4. Sobrino de Botín is history, it is iconic, and it is worth saying you have been. Just do not expect it to be the best meal of your trip. Hit Botín, soak it in, then go explore the rest of Madrid's food scene, because that is where things really start to shine.

The staff is friendly and helpful, even offering suggestions despite my very poor Spanish grammar when asking. The last two visits I've been fortunate to be seated next to the kitchen for a front row view of the magic. They have a wood-fired oven, and the artichokes may be one of the best things I have ever eaten. I normally order the grilled chicken breast and my bf had one of the best steaks of his life here. The grilled Iberian "secreto" was tender and juicy and flavorful. The paella had plenty of squid, prawn, clams, and mussels, and the rice itself had a very strong (in a good way) seafood aroma. We hadn't planned on eating there but decided to drop in. The interior is cozy and inviting, while outdoor seating is available if you prefer to dine al fresco (though it can get a bit windy outside). In fact, our water glass toppled over with one gust of wind. Reservations are recommended, as the place seems popular. The menu features a wide variety of traditional Spanish dishes, and everything we tried was delicious. Our T-bone steak arrived perfectly cooked, served with grilled peppers and sliced golden potatoes, it was simple, flavorful, and satisfying. The squid was also very good, but the standout dish was the asparagus in tempura with almond mayonnaise. Perfectly fried and incredibly light, it was absolutely outstanding. Another highlight was the homemade Iberian ham croquettes served with candied pepper sauce which were creamy and rich on the inside with a delicate crisp on the outside and a wonderful balance of flavor. To accompany the meal, we enjoyed a few glasses of Rioja Azpilicueta Crianza (Tempranillo, Graciano, and Mazuelo, 12 months aging, 2021). It was a bit on the dry side, but helped take the edge off the chilly wind while we sat outside enjoying a late lunch. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even indulging my enthusiasm for photographing the slicing of the Iberian ham. All in all, La Mi Venta delivered a fantastic, authentic Spanish dining experience with great food, good wine, and welcoming service in a charming setting. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Madrid.
