One of my old colleagues recommended I come here for the home style food and told me to make reservations ahead of time as it is a rather popular place. Glad I listened to him on both accounts. Great food, great ambiance, and exceptional service. Really enjoyed the portions and the flavor of the food. Really enjoyed the strong drinks we ordered. Portion sizes were really up my alley as I expect to be getting a good amount of food for the price. Would HIGHLY recommend. read more

Pretty much the only place in Leuven where you can get a decent meal late in the evening or at night. Big fan of the cheese croquettes and pretty much all of their Belgian dishes (preferably vol-au-vent or the flemish beef stew). Other than that I'd go for a steak or tenderloin anytime ! Vary great restaurant, open late (name means night owl) ate the rabbit that is cooked with Trappist beer. Overall delightful. One disappointment was the tomatoes. Tasted hydroponic. Water has more taste. This restaurant is better than its tomatoes. America has tasteless tomatoes. Don't you do it! Otherwise fresh and delightful. We didn't make reservations, but timing worked out for us as we were able to get a table. Service was great, and the food was very tasty! The restaurant is located off a side street from the main restaurant/bar area. The menu ranged from ribs, to stews, to pasta. There's something for everyone. read more

A wonderful place to eat if you are looking for a true taste of belgium. this is a small cozy restaurant with a fire place in the middle of only a few tables. The service is warm and friendly. The food is authentic belgium family home style cooking. It feels like the type of restaurant which only uses grandma's recipes. I have been there several times now and highly recommend it. read more

I had the vegetarian pasta dish the night before I ran the Brussels Marathon and it was delicious. The portion was generous as were the assortment of vegetables and the sauce was perfect. I can't wait to go back and try some of the traditional meat dishes on the menu. The service was also very efficient and the waiter was very nice. There was a table of people from Amsterdam visiting for the weekend going all out on every course and they were having a great time. You can tell it's a must visit restaurant in Leuven! read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER I went to this restaurant to have dinner in a big group of people. We were sitting right behind the window and my jacket got burnt due to a small candle nobody of us saw before. The candle was placed right behind me. We unfortunately left all our belongings (jackets and bags) in there since the staff did not inform us there was a hanger in the restaurant. I expected their insurance company to cover costs of this incident (as it is the usual case), not only in terms of my burnt jacket, but also the medical costs we had to cope with after suffering serious burns in our hands and arm when trying to smothering the fire ourselves. After writing an e-mail to the restaurant, they let me know they would contact the insurance company to compensate us as soon as possible. More than 3 months later, the insurance company claimed the candle was "visible to our eyes", so they took no responsibility. I found this completely unacceptable, as we obviously could not see the candle and prevent the incident to happen. Seeing this situation, I asked the manager if something could be done from their side. Had I been the manager of the restaurant, I would have taken action myself and payed for all the damages and inconveniences caused to the clients (us). But no, they completely disregarded this and just mentioned they did not feel responsible of what happened. Avoid this place, they obviously don't care about their customers at all. read more

Was a nice walk into the Centrum for some fantastic food and beer pairings per the staff. Will certainly be back!

Fantastic place for traditional Belgian food. My wife and I thought this was our best meal in Leuven.

Now this restaurant words cannot describe. Unfortunately it has been awhile since I have eaten here, but if you let the place come to you, you will be family.The owner's wife treated us like family each time we visited. Remember words will fail me with the time I visited. The meals were exquisite. The hospitality exceptional. I found a place called home a long way from a home. The seafood was great. It is here you will will find out why French fries are not French. Such pride in what is presented to the customer. The more accurate term is Belgium fries. A global Five Star. read more
