Both were broken. After the work was complete there was $600 more charge than agreed (i presume this was electrical work because no itemized bill was provided). The unit is only 14.5 seer. Perhaps these verbal agreements were forgotten and not intentional deception, but this is still unprofessional if so. Work was not up to city of Grand Rapids standards (or even the installation manual for the unit), it took 4.5 months of phone calls to them and the city to get them to fix the mistakes. I had to look up the electricians they subcontracted myself as ACR never even made an effort to update them. Eventually, through much stress on my part, everything worked out. Unit works fine, and did from day 1 of install, probably an ok business to work with outside of the city. So 3 stars despite everything. If you live somewhere without municipal codes, permits, and inspections they do ok work for what is probably a reasonable price. Just follow some advice: 1. Insist on a written contract with all promises and costs up front. 2. If you have any inspections necessary make sure the contract specifies they do not get the full payment for the work until the inspections pass.

Keep in mind that I had this appointment scheduled 2 weeks in advance - nothing crazy, just a water heater inspection + flush, but an opportunity to build a relationship and offer recommendations which leads to additional services. They at least offered to reschedule for a later day in the week -BUT- with little regard for the fact that I took time away from my busy schedule to have a set appointment. Needless to say that I won't be using their services (nor recommending them). Don't get stuck like me, take a day off of work to accommodate, and have them cancel last minute!

We hired Service Professor to replace electrical panels in our pole barn and home. The technicians…read moretold us the job was complete, but when power was restored later that evening, the main breaker immediately tripped--proving the work had not been done correctly. We called customer service several times and were told someone would come out ASAP, yet we were instead scheduled for the next day with no explanation. We called customer service again and only then did they tell us that a manager would call us back in 24-48 hours, and that no personnel were able to diagnose or fix the issue that same day. Because of this, our home had no power--no AC, no hot water, no lights, and no running water. The temperature inside reached 85 degrees, and we had two chest freezers full of food at risk of spoiling. We were forced to purchase a generator and cords to keep food from spoiling. We also had to take an extra, unplanned, day off of work to wait for the problem to be fixed. We did not receive priority service the next day, and were instead scheduled as the "2nd job" of the day, after talking to customer service first thing the next morning. After repeated requests for action, a manager finally came out in the afternoon and was able to diagnose and fix the problem in about an hour and a half. They stated that they would reimburse us for the generator and gas, which is the bare minimum. Service Professor's complete lack of accountability, poor communication, and refusal to address the emergency situation they created make them entirely untrustworthy. I strongly advise against using their services, as they clearly do not stand behind their work or prioritize their customers when errors occur.
