For approximately nine months I have been dealing with sewer issues at my resident in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Numerous local plumbers in the area have cleaned my sewer drain approximately 8 times in a nine month period. Whitney plumbing and Trout plumbing recommended that my sewer be replaced. Unfortunately, Whitney plumbing nor Trout plumbing could not find my sewer line after digging up my yard. Then on February 23, 2024, a friend of mine referred me to Tim Roger's Plumbing, who is located in Allegan, Michigan. Which is approximately two hour travel time round trip from my location. Fortunately Tim Roger's Plumbing arrived the following day. The two plumbers were very professional and courteous. They cleaned my sewer line with two different size cutters and I was astounded with the result. Their expertise was superb. Thanks to Tim Roger's Plumbing my sewer drain is draining properly again . Tim was a very nice person but very expensive. He charge over $900 to replace 2 toilet flappers and a flange on a toilet. He did not give me a price until he was done. Then wanted to change the hot water tank at 3X the price of anyone else just because there was some charring on the exhaust pipe. If you have to have work done he will be there. read more

He took advantage of us by trying to charge $715 for one hour of his time. Our short term rental had problem with the sump pump on New Year's Eve. He got our credit card before agreeing to go to the property. We knew it would be time and a half since it was a holiday but didn't have a choice. When he arrived, he found that the pump was simply off. He turned it back on. He told us $300-400 then called us back with $715. He was charging $275/hour during his drive time in addition to his $150 service charge. Luckily I disputed the extra $300 he tried to charge us with our credit card and it was refunded. I'll give him 2 stars, because he got the furnace fixed, at a very high cost. My daughter was sick and her furnace quit working because her exhaust fan motor quit, and it was starting to get cold in her house. I called Tim and met him there at 7:00 pm, and he was able to fix the problem and get the furnace working again. My only complaint was I felt his cost to do the repair was excessively high. I told him that I would pay it, but I wasn't very happy about the cost. He was very defensive about his pricing, even to the point of being rude. I left his check at my daughters house for him to pick up, and when he got there my grandson let him in to get his check. He was very unprofessional when talking to my grandson about my complaint on his pricing, and he became overly defensive to my grandson, who didn't know anything about what was said. My grandson called me after Tim left, wondering what was that all about. Very unprofessional dealing with his customers, and excessively high pricing. He charged: Service call $150, After hours fee $150, 4.5 hours labor $900, Exhaust fan $500, Opening fee to get fan $125; Then he added $40 for a new drain line. Total cost was $1865. read more

Tim is the quintessential "Greedy Plumber!" How do these guys think it's OK to charge $300/hour for over time??? Nowadays the rest of are lucky to have a job that pays $20/hour with no overtime and healthcare! If you hire Tim make sure you are clear about his charges in advance. If you have a project ... get it in writing as he thinks it OK to go way over budget and seems to have trouble planning his projects. I called one day for water heater, the next day I had a new water heater installed and working perfectly. They professionally worked around my schedule and the workers that showed up where friendly and professional as well. This plumbing outfit does charge a lot for parts and labor. Had some issues, one has been corrected, the other - he made a complete mess of my new wall & that will always be an eyesore. Another BIG issue, his verbal quote on price ended up being $1,500 - $2,000 more than his quote. I was in a pinch, another plumber was a no-show for a week, Tim and his guy came and got the job done. I would advise anyone to get a written quote, written & detailed invoices and then make him stick to the quote. He will charge a premium, I think anyway, if he knows you are in a pinch. Bottom Line- we were charged triple the amount that he quoted, after looking at it in person with no unforseen circumstances that popped up. Tim came out to look at what we needed done and gave us a quote that we felt comfortable with, so we scheduled for him to come out to do the job. We met him at the house to let him in, then he stopped by work after to confirm he was done and the house was locked up. Bing bang boom, done. When we received a final bill, three times the amount that he had quoted. We called to see if he had run into any problems and he stated that no, he had not. When we questioned his labor rate, he explained that labor was charged almost double his normal rate because he brought his helper 'who is uncertified, so I don't charge as much for him'. Not as much, just an additional 75% of his 'certified' rate. Also, the hours charged for labor were inaccurate. Mind you, we met him at the house to let him in and he stopped by work when he was done, so we know the exact times he arrived and left. When we spoke with him on the phone he also stated that he and his helper went to lunch. So, we paid for him to go to the hardware, paid for them to go to lunch PLUS just bogus extra time. His response? "labor hours are accurate". With any other business I've dealt with, if the bill is going to be more- let alone three times the amount- the business owner calls to say 'Hey- here's what's going on' or even at the very least let us know after the job is done so that we are prepared when the bill comes. Just very, very disappointed. Have never had an experience like this with any business. Would never use him again and definitely do not recommend his services. read more

So, I'm new in town...I called this guy before when we were on vacation and the friend we were staying with had a plumbing issue. He did what he could, then called in someone else to do their part...no problem. Then I call him to install a gas line for my stove and dryer in the new house. While he was there we discuss a tankless water heater...no problem. There's a problem. Aside from the fact that I didn't get a fully itemized bill and the work cost me $1000 more than the exact same job that I had done in CA, (except this is easier because he had full access to all the plumbing.) I find out (after I've paid him) from a different friend that he is the worst plumber I could have called and I am told a list of over-charges, mis-charges, and plain old unprofessionalism and corner-cutting that has my head spinning. I go into the basement to check his work...dopey me I trusted him to do a good clean job...WRONG!! I have a hose dangling on the floor from the new water heater that is just lying on the ground aimlessly draining water on my basement floor!! I find out that the hose is supposed to be PVC rated to take hot water, and it is supposed to be mounted on the wall and leading into my sump drain in the basement floor (about 5 feet away from where the current hose is just sitting). I am not a plumber, so I don't know what else is wrong with the job he did, but I am calling someone else in to check his work. read more

Follow up i had all his cheap pex replaced with copper..what was there originally. . He charged me 900 for 50 ft of pex..unheard of i know..he charged me 150 for materials ..when i went to menards i found everything he used for 15 dollars..what a joke..i had copper put in by a more reputable company for 500 because i dont trust his dirty work...keep in mind they used copper.. not as cheap pex..so i let u make your on conclusions.. i just chalk it up as an expensive lesson i hope know one else has to go through read more

I'll never call him again. What a rip off. He called me at 10am to say he was coming over, then he was done at 2pm. He also took a one hour lunch break in there, and somehow my labor was $1000! For just the one guy! Even though when he gave me the estimate he said $800 to $1000 because he would have to have two people here. So he was here for less than 3 hours and i have to pay $1000. How's that work.Part estimated at $400 became $500 then he added $100 "service call". When i asked him if he had any problems his reply was "No, not really." Ahhhhhhh! Our well pump died after an electrical outage. We called Tim and he sent someone out right away. They gave us a quote and we were charged exactly what was quoted. We had the same experience when a subsequent, unrelated, problem came up. Showed up to the job with an assistant , you would think the job would be done twice as fast. Tim left the job to drop off his trailer and to get a tool that HE forgot, gone for over an hour but charged me for the time. His assistant installed the drain not to code, he said it was wrong but good enough, call if I have problems. For his grand finale, gave me the bill for $610, which I gave him my visa card. When I received my credit card statement noticed he charged $850, called him and he said he raised the price on parts and added a return trip fee back to his shop. We hired Mr. Rogers to put in a new septic system for us, he charged 8500.00 to do the job. When the health inspector came to do the inspection he said we had to have it done all over again because it was not done correctly. We called Mr. Rogers to let him know and told him we would be hiring someone else to do the job he said ok and he would give us some of our money back then later on he called back and said he wanted to work with the other's we had hired and do the labor for free but we'd have to pay the other company for supply's, so we contacted them and they said they did not want to do it that way and they would let Mr. Rogers know about this, so we said ok. So now we already gave Mr. Rogers 8500.00 and we have to pay the new people to do it correctly and it is going to cost 7400.00 more. We have not heard anything more from Mr. Rogers concerning this issues so I guess the only option we have now is to hire a lawyer and let the court decide the outcome. This has been going on for several months now so we have no other choice. I would not recommend you use Mr. Rogers for anything concerning a septic system because your going to get screwed. read more

My husband called tim to put in a new water heater, he quoted a price of 800.00 to 1000.00 because he was not sure of the exact job. that was fine I understand that a price quote of 200.00 one way or the other is fair. well he came and it cost over 1200.00 before I wrote the ck. I did ask him why so much more. well I took extra time. and as he said mise. parts really 185.00 of mise. parts !!!! of course he said that he did not tell my husband. the first price. well he did. he left said would have heat in about and hour well, no hot water so we called him back his worker came and did fix the trouble. I asked him to have tim call me. he did and about a 1/2 phone call. he was right we where wrong. and my husband just did not hear any of the money quotes. he charged us time to fix.something he put in wrong. but of course that was no big deal.
