I'm doing a follow up review for my plantar fasciitis treatment from East Ocean podiatry, under the care of Dr. Dean Dorfman. If you've ever suffered from chronic severe plantar fasciitis you know the hopelessness, frustration, despair, and chronic pain that greets every day. At one point I honestly was just feeling like please amputate my foot and just be done with this! When your mobility is effected, it has a domino effect on so many other areas of our life. For example with that kind of pain constant, I was no longer able to go to the gym. So then My stress level started increasing because I couldn't burn it off sweating it out. Then I started eating more food because I got stressed. Which made me put on more weight. Which made me more depressed. Which caused more pain on my planter fasciitis because I was carrying more weight on it and putting more pressure on the heel. Then I started getting more irritable. And my relationships started to suffer. I was not able to participate in recreational activities or even take a nice hike in nature. Which started to effect my sleep patterns. Which then started to effect my work performance. I think you get the picture. But I can tell you, after 6 months of almost weekly treatments utilizing a combination of the shockwave machine, special custom designed insoles, special footwear, and even CBD pain relief cream it created an entourage effect that ultimately healed my injury. Today I am happy to say I am 98% better! Dr. Dorfman was not only a Physician that helped alleviate the physical pain but he also helped alleviate my mental anguish. His personality and persona are very comforting. He has no pretension, and you really feel like you with a very close friend or even family member. He is authentic and sincere. When I lost hope, I put my faith in him. His whole practice is immaculately clean and his staff are exceptional. And also the professional environment means that you hardly ever have to wait longer than necessary for your appointment. Everything is very efficient when you get there. And it's a very warm and happy atmosphere. I especially enjoy seeing Candace at the front desk when I check in. She always has a smile and a happy glow! I'm so grateful for the healing! Dr Dorfman's thing is selling inserts. A machine measures your foot. Info is sent to the insert fabricator. I work on concrete floors. I understand how important shoes are. A few years before my appointment I had had a broken leg. When breaks heal legs can be different lengths. People having legs of different lengths is not unusual even when they've never had a break. When I first met the doctor I explained that had had had a broken leg. It was ignored. When he was finishing up I reminded him. He told me to turn around and said it was 1/4". He guessed. The inserts are expensive. The inserts arrived and I started wearing them. After two days I had severe pain. I returned them and said I wanted my money back. The three people in the office were really quiet and didn't seem surprised. I never got a refund. Health insurance does not cover shoe inserts. He's probably good at some other function of being a podiatrist. read more

I had had plantar fasciitis in my right foot for a 12 month period back in 2015. Tried everything to cure it. After 3 cortisone shots that did not work, I finally resorted to expensive and painful platelet procedure. So when the same condition started in my left foot, I was open to suggestions. I recently had the pleasure of being referred to Dr. Dean Dorfman's office. I had been experiencing heel pain for some time and had been seen by other doctors with little results. When I arrived at his office I was greeted by his friendly staff and noticed that his office was immaculately clean and bright.
