    Repaired!
    Janet T.

I decided to give this shoe repair store a try and it did not disappoint! The sole of my Coach snow boots came apart, I needed help to glue it back. They did a wonderful job! I had dropped off the shoes last Saturday and it was ready for pickup by Wed, but I couldn't make it back to the store till Saturday again. When I walked in, they were able to find my shoes fairly quickly. It was $35 to repair my shoes, reasonable price. This place also repairs jackets, belts, and purses. If I ever need to get something else repaired, I wouldn't mind coming back to this place. Keep up the great work Dean's Shoe Repair!!!

I went in with my 'fiercest' black stiletto boots (lol) for a heel repair and re-sole. It all went well, but with one con: PROS - Strip mall location, easy to find, plenty of free parking - Store is neat & tidy, good selection of shoe/foot products and accessories like belts & purses for sale (for the quality a tad overpriced in my opinion) - Lady at the front desk was quiet, polite - My boots were done in 3 days, as promised, which was great - Price was $45 for both services I requested (Not sure if that's good or bad, I have no basis for comparison/never shopped around, but I feel it's fair) CONS - The only con was that there was quite a bit of glue all around where the re-soling was done and they were trying to give them to me that way. I immediately gave them back and asked them to clean it, but they instead put black polish over it. That was just sloppy... I'll likely go back to repair an accessory in the future... banking on the fact that this was a one-off. I'll update this review if/when I do!

Dean's Shoe Repair - I do not recommend them for luxury bag repairs I had a Gucci small leather bag with a shoulder strap that was too long, so I wanted to have it professionally shortened. After researching highly rated places for luxury bag repairs, I came across Dean's Shoe Repair. At first, I was surprised because they mainly repair shoes, but after reading several positive reviews, I decided to give them a chance. When I brought my bag in, I was told the repair would be almost invisible and that I wouldn't notice where the strap had been shortened. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. They never measured the exact length I wanted removed. Instead, they simply marked the strap with a piece of tape and proceeded with the repair. The final result was extremely disappointing. The workmanship was poor, and my beautiful Gucci bag was left looking damaged rather than professionally repaired. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Dean's Shoe Repair for luxury handbags. If you only need basic shoe services, such as shoe shining, they may be fine. However, I would strongly advise taking high-end designer bags to a specialist with proven experience in luxury leather repairs.

Amazing service here! Highly recommend this place! I had them convert a non interchangeable soles and heels to removable slide soles and heels for my classic bowling shoes.

    Repair gone wrong

They left gaps in my shoes and didn't repair my boots properly. I'm worried water will get in. I paid fifty dollars, and when I asked them to make sure there were no holes, they said they could add more glue but it would seep everywhere. It was such a half-done job, would not recommend, there shouldn't be gaps. Trash work

I waited a while to post this. I'm a collector of vintage shoes. I brought one pair of sketcher sandals from the 90s to be repaired and a pair of doc marten sandals also from the 90s to be repaired. As you may know doc sandals are infamous for the inner sole of the shoe deteriorating and crumbling out. I brought them to be replaced. Let me be clear these did fit properly before taking them. Both pairs of shoes were returned to me with glue wisps all over the leather which was quite frustrating. However I have worn the sketchers sandals and they have held up so i'm satisfied with that minus the mess of glue that was on them. However the doc sandals. They are way too tight now as the base was not properly fitted. There was a TON of glue all over the leather that I have peeled off but some still remains. The shoe also looks extremely messed up on the inside. You can see that the base of the leather foot pad is glued much higher than it should be hence causing them to be too tight now. Super disappointed as these shoes are one of kind. I was so excited when he said he could fix them and this is not what I anticipated receiving in return. Also on the left shoe the leather base is not even fully attached to the sole inside and is lifting. I'm trying to see if I can salvage these since I love them by gently stretching the leather top portion for a better fit. Over all I am very disappointed. I'm hoping that if I take them else where they may be able to correct these mistakes but super disappointed since he seemed confident when he assured me he could fix them.

Dean's Chop Shop Buyer Beware Called and ask for a quote to have my boots resoled Was told forty five dollars... A Pair Which is not unheard of cause I get it done At home for fifty when I drop off two or more. Then when I arrived with three pairs of boots, I asked if he could put healed soles on my boots instead of the traditional wedge sole he then told me it would be sixty with the new sole and sewed on at the toe. No just Glued. Which I agreed to and dropped off the 3 pairs. What I picked up was horrendous. He just crudely Glued heels on my old boots, over my old sole. I mean, look at the pictures, give me a break. I could have done a better job in my garage with no experience. Them to top it off they're crooked. Couldn't even make it through a day of work. Should change the business name to dean's chop shop.

Great work in a reasonable time frame, even done ahead of schedule. Repair is holding well and unnoticeable during daily wear.

It's got a beautiful mix of antique, vintage and vintage inspired wares from a variety of sellers. I saw so many unique paintings, decorations and even furniture that was reasonably priced. Super friendly staff who welcomed us in, pointed out how they are set up and encouraged us to look around. New items come in regularly, I believe. On the day I visited, I had in a mind a particular sized painting-either framed or canvas for a certain wall space. They didn't happen to have it, but I saw plenty of other beautiful decorations that my budget, right now, won't allow for. If you are looking to add a bit of vintage charm to your home, stop here first. They have a beautiful selection, great prices and are a wonderful local business to support!

I deduct one star because I have been in the antique design industry for 8+ years with an Etsy store of my own. I also work at an antique store in Pacheco..... so I have some background knowledge here. No fault to the gals helping me but I was told discounts are not often given and when I asked about two pieces totaling roughly $50 ($28+$19) a $3 discount was given. That's less than tax. Again the gals working cannot control the dealer pricing HOWEVER competition is steep. When I can and did find similar items online and it cost less to buy and SHIP to me... perhaps the dealers should take that into account and price fairly. I recognize they are paying Walnut Creek rent for their space but folks won't continue to "shop local" if prices are obnoxiously higher than online. That being said the painted furniture prices are outstanding the work is really well done.
