I love this office here. Our family has been going to see these Dentists for 25 yrs, and they have never steered us wrong. Similarly, I have sent others to see them who in turn were so happy they started going regularly and also recommending this office to others. I have a Dental Hygienist friend who works in another office who also confirmed that they have done excellent work in my mouth, and she sees it all. There are a wide range of specialties in this office, but they aren't going to do something on you that you really don't need which is something I really appreciate. They also see you the same day if you are in pain and need their help, and if you go see them, they will do something for you THAT day. No need to wait around in pain for another appt. which is awesome when you have issues with a tooth. And if the staff seems happy there, well, the track record speaks for itself. No one leaves that office once they start working there (until they retire, like my previous Hygienist Manon did a year ago) and that says a lot about them as an office. The Hygienists are treated with respect there by the Dentists & taken seriously, and as a patient, I really like that. Also, any of the negative posts here on yelp about this office should be tossed out & I'm quite frankly offended that someone would ever take the time to bash this office in this way. Our family has seen a wide range of dentists over the years since my dad was in the Army for many yrs and every time they went for a cleaning, it was a different dentist, different hygienist. Some were fine, and some were not so fine. When my dad retired from the Army, started a 2nd career in the Automotive industry here in Michigan, we stuck with the Luria & Birnholtz office the entire time living here because quite frankly, it was nice having such wonderful Dentists & Hygienists taking care us. We have been going there so long that we even remember seeing Dr. Harold Luria, the dad who started the Dentist office and remember him fondly. Nowadays, my parents have moved out of Michigan when my dad retired from the Automotive industry, and I remain in Michigan where I still see Dr. Birnholtz every 6 months for my checkup. Over the years I have seen them, I was fitted for a crown 15 yrs ago. The crown fits like a dream and I have had no trouble with it. They aren't trying to sell me more services that I don't need/want and I really appreciate that. They make notes about anything that they are keeping an eye on in my mouth & always ask me about stuff we talked about previously when I come in there for a current cleaning. They even told me where I could get a good deal on a sonicare toothbrush (Costco). They upgraded their Xray system so that they can get a full-mouth X-ray right in their new office as well as have a room specifically for special procedures & can do implants. If there is specialized oral surgery needed, they send their patients to the best Oral Surgeon in the State of Michigan. This is conscientious full-service dental care! By far the greatest experience I've ever had at a dentist. They make you feel so relaxed and comfortable, and make your comfort their priority...I've never looked forward to going to a dentist till now, and I'm so glad I found them. The staff are the loveliest and kindest people, and all the workers are so respectful...I had the pleasure of having Patti Adams as the dental assistant and she is one of the most sweetest people I've ever met...she took the time to explain everything and made sure I understood exactly what I needed...she did everything she can to make sure I was comfortable and make sure my experience went well, and she has a way of making you feel so comfortable... as if you are just talking to a family member :) which really helps, especially if you're like me and feel like you might ask a stupid question, which she assured me that there is no such thing and to ask on...I also had the pleasure of having Dr. Bruce Luria and I can't even begin to explain how kind and gentle he was...I didn't feel a thing! He is really great at what he does, and makes sure your comfort is the main thing. He doesn't like his patients to be in any kind of pain and he makes sure of it! I have had extensive dental problems since i was in my early twenties. I have had good dentists and a few bad ones that only made things worse. About ten years ago, on the recommendation of my family, I transferred to Dr. Mark Luria after my dentist at the time almost did a root canal on a perfectly good tooth. Soon thereafter I had a serious injury while in Traverse City where my upper bridge (done prior to Dr. Mark) snapped off breaking two teeth, one of which was live. Left with a root exposed and hanging we called Dr. Mark at home, yes he had given me his home number for emergencies, and we started the 4 hour trip back to Dearborn with me in excruciating pain. On Saturday, at 6 in the evening,, Dr. Mark left a personal engagement to meet us at the office and care for me. I have never had such exceptional, talented and caring dental care. Dr. Mark is so good my brother and his wife travel from Washington DC and my other brother from Tokoyo to be treated by him. Everyone in his office is exceedingly professional and gracious. I don't know exactly how many years, but Dr. Mark Birnholtz has been my dentist for at least 15 years! I'm the type that had nightmares about visiting the dentist. In casual conversation with a co-worker I mentioned my fears and she referred me to Dr. Mark. What a blessing!! I spoke to him about those fears and he truly seemed to understand. He has always treated me with kindness and compassion. This wasn't how he was just on the initial visit, but EVERY SINGLE visit since....at least 15 years. I'm stressing this because he is consistent in his actions. It wasn't just a one time thing because I stressed my concern on my initial visit, he treats me like this every single time. I live in the area, but if I ever move away, I will definitely travel however far necessary to keep Dr. Mark as my dentist. I haven't been to the dentist in 10years because I was traumatized from my previous dentist. I had a toothache so I Google the best dentist office in my area... Dearborn Family Dentistry was #1...for a reason! On Valentines Day I emailed them shortly after closing hours... They called me the very next day as soon as they opened and I was able to get a same day appt! I was super nervous in the waiting room but once I got to the back Ms. Patti assured me everything will be fine! Every assurance she gave me they followed through on! Not only was Ms. Patti amazing and such a beautiful spirit, so was Kaley(sp) who was in training! My tooth was a stubborn extraction and I absolutely felt no pain and Dr. Rena Allswang handled me with care and did not get frustrated! They ensured I couldn't feel a thing and I didn't! I have been a patient of Dr. Mark for 18 1/2 years. DR. MARK is the BEST DENTIST IN THE WORLD and the entire staff is great. Dr. Mark cares for his patients and he is the Most Gentle Doctor EVER. I have never been in pain with him even when he numbs me with the needle. I am terrified of needles and all the work I have had with him, he has never hurt me. I even let him drill in my back teeth and he didn't even numb me and still no pain. I had a tooth that was acting up last December 2018 and he was aware of the situation. I was able to call Dr. Mark on Christmas Eve on an emergency basis and he met me at the office to do a root canal. Of course,no pain. I went back to my family gathering and enjoyed my meal and being with my family. I have never been uncomfortable around him or the staff. Absolutely the best Dentist I've ever been to. From the moment you walk through the door you feel very welcomed. Dr. Bruce Luria is a dental genius when it comes to pain free. I've never feared Dentists, but his Novocain shot was like a gum massage. Him and his staff really have it together, with Assistants Patti Adams and Kari Kiker. They are so professional and fun at the same time. They keep you abreast of everything planned for the as well as any other possible work that may need to be done in the future. I have also been seen briefly by Dr. Mark, again top notch. I have and will continue to refer friends and family. I first met Dr. Bruce because my wife had a tooth pain that was causing her misery, our previous dentist contributed to her dental problems. She called different dental offices but nobody could get her in for 1 to 2 weeks! Dearborn Family Dentistry where the only ones that actually see you that same day when you have a dental emergency! There are so many things about this dentist that I love! I always feel welcome and the staff really cares about all of their patients. When I had caps put on a few years ago my dentist called me that evening just to make sure I was doing ok. Nothing goes unnoticed, something that seems insignificant to me is not insignificant to them. They always make sure I am comfortable and well taken care of. They really care about their patients. Specifically they have exceeded my expectations with the amount of caution and safeguards they have in place right now. Upon arrival, I was sent a text when hygienist was ready to see me. They took my temperature, covered my purse with a plastic bag, had hand sanitizer immediately available and everyone was wearing PPE. They are even filtering the air in the office. I have been going to Dr.Bruce for more than 40 years. When he recently announced his retirement I was very apprehensive about going to someone new. Yesterday I broke a tooth in half while eating lunch. I called and was able to get an appointment with Dr. Ballani the next morning at 9am. Patti who assisted has always treated me like family. She put my mind at ease right away. I was confident I'd be taken care of before I even went in, but my expectations were exceeded. I have been coming to Dr. Bruce Luria for at least 10 years and there's no other dentist or team I'd consider seeing for my oral care. I've never had any pain during our appointments and have had a range of dental work done from cleaning, to root canals to crowns. I've been going to Dr. Mark for over a decade. I can't say enough about what a kind, caring and skilled dentist he is! In my most recent visit, I had to get a crown and a filling. Just went here for the first time. Very friendly people, great environment, and very up to date technology (I.e. Digital X-ray machine). Karen did my cleaning and I can't recommend her highly enough. It was completely pain free, despite the fact my teeth are in pretty rough shape (see: Austin Powers). I also met with Dr. Mark and he was very friendly and professional.
