Stopped in for a light dinner and was pleasantly surprised to find a first rate brewery in this little Death Valley adjacent town of Tecopa. Dan Leseberg is the brew master. I'm always a bit tentative about going into establishments off the beaten track alone but Dan made me feel right at home immediately and the customers were friendly. It's an anniversary beer from the folks who make 805. Dark, not coffee. On tap here and I can't find it elsewhere!!! Ate pizza outside, musicians stopped to talk before we sat down, oh well. Love this place. Enjoying a few flights, we got to try all of the beers they had on tap. Every beer was interesting and complex. I particularly liked the Hop Blanc ( a grape ale), Tecopafest (dunkel marzen), Coyote Campfire (pumpkin ale) and the Amargosa Sunset Red ale. Got those 4 canned to go, got a shirt and talked the the brewmaster. We enjoyed pizza from the kit fix café while we drank our beer. We will definitely be back. read more

Incredible, cozy little brewery that is absolutely worth the stop if you're anywhere nearby. Can't believe it took us so long to visit having driven through the area many times. All the beers we tried were fantastic and we are looking forward to trying others on our next visit. We were driving through and wanted to be responsible and not drink too much. After having a terrible experience at therapeutic Hot springs and delight Hot springs it was such a pleasure to get some real well made pizza here. What a surprise. The dough was excellent. It was cooked just right. The ratio of cheese and sauce was fantastic. I look forward to coming back when the season starts again. This place is like the Mos Eisley cantina crossed with Deadwood, with a splash of Mad Max for extra dusty desert dive bar weirdness! You never know WHO you'll run into here --outlaws, fugitives, LA hipsters, foodies, hippies, rednecks, geologists, Death Valley tourists.. and of course, plenty of good old-fashioned boozers. And somehow, it all feels cozy and welcoming --a place where everybody knows your name, like Cheers...if Cheers was located on the surface of the sun and had ginormous bat-sized horseflies swarming around outside. Kidding -- sort of! That's summertime; if you come here between October and April, you can sit out front on the porch or out by the firepit and watch the traffic go by on the Old Spanish Trail. The cafe next door serves awesome homemade wood-fired pizza, so you can kick back with a beer (or hard cider, if like me you don't drink beer), have a bite, talk to the locals...and just enjoy the weirdness of this wonderful world. Dan the bartender is also the brewmeister -- he brews all his own beer, and usually some kind of hard ginger beer, as well as non-alcoholic root beer for the teetotalers. This has got to be the best dive bar I have ever been to. A little dusty, rustic, friendly hole in the middle of nowhere, with an excellent owner/brewmaster. He brews some great beer, and next door serves some of the best wood fired pizza I have ever had. This is a great melting pot for listening to the adventures and stories of the local patrons. If you're looking for a bougie hippie spot to get completely naked in the privacy of your own walled in, locked door, under the moonlight you need to check out Delight's Hot Springs resort. My girlfriend and I needed an escape and it was absolutely perfect. Super affordable with all of the healthy energy one would need in a get away from the madness of Sin City in your own tiny cabin. Nearby, our surprise came from locating this amazing brewery with a plethora of super tasty brews, pizza, and one of the best pool tables I've ever played on. Local musicians jam throughout the evening and the sunsets and sunrises are immaculate. Tasty food and an amazing one of a kind experience = all wins! read more

The brewmaster, Dan, is as much a genius as he is creative in his brewing. The Cucumber Ale is probably the best beer being brewed in the United States right now. We had just left the date farm and heading towards Tecopah when we saw Death Valley Brewery. Y'all! This is a cozy, no frills spot with excellent beer! Super owner and locals make it even better. The pool table made for some fun. And the neighbor business, Kit Fox Cafe, has the most awesome tasting pizza that can be ordered through the brewery. The only negative, and by no means the brewery's fault, they have these horrible bid bugs they call bombers , during the warmer months. These bugs try to kill you! So, he may not be open during summer. But worth the trip!!! read more

The small Mojave desert community of Tecopa, CA is quite a ways from a town of any size, and is a great place to enjoy the beautiful desert scenery, camp, and relax. There aren't many restaurants in the area, but there is a gem of a micro brewery, Death Valley Brewing, who's motto reads, "When you're dyin' for a cold one..." Death Valley Brewing is a small micro brewery that brews "old school" beer, in the style of the old west, and is located in Tecopa, CA, near Death Valley National Park. There is a campground behind the brewery and a steakhouse next door, so all bases are covered. As you enter the brewery, you'll first notice the small bar, high, bar-type tables and chairs, and lots of friendly beer lovers. The taproom is quite compact, but there's a pool table in a co-located room, and a comfortable patio outside, which is an enjoyable place to enjoy a beer or two when the desert weather isn't excessively hot. The beer selection changes all of the time, and the current selection is posted on a white board, hung on a taproom wall. My daughter and I are big fans of IPA, and the "Snakebite" sounded like a great choice for this early Sunday evening. We absolutely loved our "Snakebites," and we were both "snakebitten" after enjoy a pint or two. The beer is a rich, artesian IPA, and it tastes like no other IPA that I've ever enjoy. It's crisp, clean, and just plan refreshing and delicious. The beer is brewed in the style of the old west, and is definitely "old school." We wanted to add another course to our vacation in Vegas. Unfortunately the brewery was back open yet, but the owner was there doing some work and pointed us to the course. Had a great time and the views are spectacular. Be prepared to lose a disc if you throw over the edge. Weather was great in the high 70s and just a breeze. All of which made onsite by family owned & operated brewers. The person that served us named Daniel, was extremely knowledgeable about each and every beer. We did a taste testing & wound up walking away with 4 different growlettes in keepsake reusable bottles & a tshirt. Our favorites were the 1. Celtic coffee stout (very good), 2. You were not open when I visited! A bunch of folks looked to see if you were open and you were not Christmas 2016. However, Eric's little 2 bar stool, 2 table restaurant was my go to for night caps. I love the way he's lit up the place at night. Eric was a great host and I am recommending the place to EVERYONE. Thanks Eric for the wonderful Sangria and Tequila wine.
