We don't have much experience with hot springs except for a free public dirt one in Mammoth area, but we're looking forward to visiting with more time to enjoy it next time. Tecopa Hot Springs Campground at 760-852-4377 (Jeff, or ask for TJ) - Take credit card.    Do RV space with hookups too.    Includes bathrooms and showers available (1 Shower in campground side; certain showers/bathrooms area are closed during certain times). Inside pools are  hot spring water temperature (takes 5min to warm if you're the 1st person) showers all over and soaking by gender, and a private pool to rent $25/hr (and cleaned each time). Can not wear clothes due to natural spring (no dyes and such to endanger birds), shower then go into.    Saturday 11/8/2025 Car camping only $30 include showers and bathrooms times to when use; with soaking $45 (includes 2 soaking passes).    Located by the tecopa event (where the burger joint is, etc at Tecopa Hot Springs Resort). You'll need lights/headlamp to walk over to the event. When facing Tecopa Hot Springs Resort, left of was camping area for staff and such, the left of that is an elevated level for more camping, left of that is the office to check-in and get your parking pass from Tecopa Hot Springs Campground. 11/8/25 Tecopa Takeover talked to staff. 7am-8pm office bathrooms, and showers. And private, men, women hot springs. Restrooms have trash cans. Across the any time bathroom across the street, white small tent looking. Right of that is a different camping section area with bathroom and shower. - The women's section restroom and hot springs area is located left after walking through the office. - Hot Springs Tip: Good for skin but not good for hair. Not good for eyes. Put hair up. There's open star view one, and a semi-enclosed. Stores, things to do, etc other than hot springs and camping: 1 gas station store around 10-15min away, cafe and bar on the way in, 1 mini restaurant at Tecopa Hot Springs Resort area, date farm called China Date Farm, Spanish Trial and Mission Historic space, etc.

My wife was going to get a chance to soak. We drove up to the office. There was no one there. My wife got outside read all the signs rang a bell and waited a good 5 minutes. Maybe more. In the heat. Outdoors. A woman, with a scowl on her face and a very sour demeanor drove up to talk to my wife. We offered to rent an RV willing to pay up to $100 to use one for a few hours. Just so that my son and I had a place to spend time while my wife soaked. We were willing to pay for my wife and I took as well. The weirdest thing. They were not interested in any business. It was the greatest feeling of unwelcome I've seen in quite a while. I will say that as well their competitor was no better. I'll leave that review separately. Very sad. Terrible experience.

And their Hot Springs were down because the power was out still refusing to give us a refund. My mom barely touched the window to try to open it to let it breeze in and the windows are so old it just shattered. So I told the front desk and they charge me $200 extra. So it cost $400 to stay at a place had no air-conditioning no water and I couldn't use the hot springs. :(. I won't stay here again. Oh and there's no WiFi at all and no tvs. This place is a joke.

Hostel is an old trailer with one private room, a dorm for 4 & a well equipped kitchen. Bring your own food, water, etc as it is little expensive at store. Great place to view stars. They have a viewing tower for it. Only cons, it is 1 - 1 1/2 drive to badwater basin. So it is a great place to make a stop. If i have to spend few days in Death Valley, I will live at stovewells pipe or Furnance Creek. Gas is very expensive. I will definitely recommended this place.

We spent 3 nights at Cynthia's in one of the 3 tipis that she has in the middle of a date farm in…read morethe middle of nowhere. We used the location as our base for covering Death Valley and absolutely loved it! You check in at Cythias and then they lead you, by car, to the tipis by leaving the road and driving through a small canyon that opens out into the China Ranch Date Farm. The tipis are amongst the date palms next to the house which contains kitchen facilities if you wish to prepare food for yourselves. The tipis have air conditioning and heating if you need it while maintaining the pleasures of sleeping under canvas. There are no meals available at Cynthia's but there are several reasonable places to eat and one superb restaurant that is truly a surprise in this location. Talk to Cynthia about the places to eat and you won't be disappointed. There is also a local bar that bees its own beers from some non-traditional ingredients and the ones we tried during our stay and they were excellent. One of the benefits of being far away from built up areas is the the nighttime sky. The stars feel as if they are pressing down on you. Cynthia has an astro safari where Chad can answer any questions you have about the night skies. Chad has a massive astronomical telescope through which he will show you the farther reaches of our galaxy and galaxies beyond. We can really recommend this safari with the combination of pristine clarity and a passionate and knowledgable guide in Chad. We stayed at Cynthia's prior to the availability of the desert safaris. We would like to go back to Cynthia's and take advantage of these excursions. Cynthia loves Death Valley and know is intimately. There is so much to explore with limited time.

Every conceivable spot has been transformed, and it twists and winds around itself, every bend revealing a colorful surprise. They've built multiple suites around the site, each one a gem. Ours was very comfortable and plenty warm in December. Lots of outdoor seating areas. The property abuts BLM land, so all you see is desert stretching endlessly into the distance. Let them feed you, for Pete's sake. The meals exceeded my expectations by a mile. Every meal (we did two breakfasts and one dinner) was a multi-course feast, with a ton of variety, flavor, and above all clean, healthy, nourishing food. If you take nothing else from my review, just trust that you want Carlo and Jack to cook for you. Villa Anita is warm, welcoming, eclectic, lively, and fun. Carlo is buzzing with energy and stories and Jack is sweet and serene. They have a pack of six darling dogs, so if that's not your jam, be advised. We loved them all: Guido, Vida, Dillon/Pickles, Lucy O. Ball, Dwight White and Betty White Magoo of the Long Island Magoos (my favorite, although Lucy took a shine to my traveling companion). There is no internet or cell service, and no television so it's best for people who know how to unplug and be present together. We spent the day exploring, so after our wonderful mini dinner parties we were happy to retire and recharge for more adventures the next day. Go use the private tub at Tecopa Hot Springs for extra deep relaxation. We loved our stay and plan to return.

We got one of the rooms with a kitchen area and it had a nice clean working kitchen along with a nice shower and beds, all well-designed and fit into a small room. The common area outside had a couple of tables and a few chairs. The monster-size trees and beautiful flowering bushes were amazing. There is some kind of water table near the surface and some greenery, even in the middle of summer in this desert. Very well maintained, and owners are gradually making improvements on what is already a very nice motel.

Shoshone Inn (really a motel) is pretty much the only establishment in the area and was convenient for my planned expeditions, so I bit the bullet and made the reservation. Amenities: Hot shower (no tub), mini-fridge, microwave and Keurig coffee maker including coffee pods and creamer. Breakfast of bagels, yogurt and fruit also included. BTW the hot water was truly hot, which was nice (it's chilly here in winter). Lots of complimentary goodies (lotion, shampoo, bath gel, even eye gel and pillow spray to help you get a good night's sleep). Room: Very comfortable bed, large wardrobe for storage, and a nice desk with chair. NO CELL SERVICE OR LANDLINE phone here; but there is free Wi-Fi and a pay phone nearby for emergencies. Cleanliess was great. Service: Check-in ran a little late as my room was not ready when I arrived. Keeping in mind that the town of Shoshone has a population of 31, it must be hard to keep enough staff to get everything done. Everyone was very friendly and helpful about the process and answered all my questions. Just go with the flow. THE BEST THING: The Warm Springs Pool. Staying at the Inn gives you access to the Warm Spring Pool, which is heavenly. Shoshone is home to amazing natural hot springs (as well as their own species of pupfish adapted to live in the springs.) These springs feed the pool, which is a short hike from the hotel. Parking: Free in the lot. Tips: Bring food and supplies, there's a gas station market right next store to the motel but with limited provisions. Drive to Tecopa for more hot springs. And have dinner at Steaks and Beer (reservation highly suggested.)

I have been told by several knowledgeable people from Sedona AZ, that it has the same powerful vortex as Sedona has. I also know that there was a burial site on the other side of Amargosa River SE of the Post Office, miners lived in caves there and made the caves into homes. The site is lost now but I saw the remnants of the homes and believe it is possible. Please visit our town and enjoy the beauty of this place.

One thing that I really envy about the desert people is that they really try and go for the more natural burial. i think it is a beautiful thing to bury your loved ones on the top of hills and in a more 'natural" site. This vemetery is beautiful.
