One had a mask around his neck, and the rest of the two movers didn't have them. When I informed them politely that Cambridge has a law that requires you to wear face masks in public places, such as the apartment building lobby they were standing in, all three pulled out masks from their pockets. I said great, please put them on. They did and walked to the elevator, then took them off. WTF? I say nothing, and when we got to our apartment on the ninth floor, I asked them again to put them on, this time a little annoyed since they don't seem to be taking this seriously at all. They said they can't put them on since moving is cardio-intensive and putting on a mask will hinder their work. Well, excuse me, there's a f**king pandemic going on and they are refusing to wear a mask inside my home? I had no other choice but to turn a blind eye since we were leaving from Boston to California that day and we had no other choice. The "quality assurance" guy reached out to me when we got to California and I informed him about my displeasure on the mask situation, and then I NEVER heard back from him, until I told him I was going to write this review. He called and said "they did not want to be defamed on the internet". lol. My pet food storage box, trash can, and some small items had dents when they got here, so I won't comment on the moving services. But please don't consider Long Distance Movers, please, for your OWN HEALTH'S SAKE.

They arrived late and didn't take accountability for arriving late. They were like, "who said we are late?". And they didn't even communicate their ETA to us. 2. No one answered the phone , the morning that our moving service was scheduled and no one reached out to us on when they would arrive. Their contract states that they would reach out with their ETA and no one did. 3. Some of our larger items were bent or broken. 4. Because they were late, they ended late in the day so we weren't able to inspect our items until the next day. 5. Customer service takes ZERO accountability. 6. We agreed with AOA on moving items out of our garage but the day of the moving, their team refused to move it and said that it would void their insurance to move these items (lawn mower, garden supplies, etc). Soooooo we had to hire another moving company the same day and get charged the extra rate for late night and expedited moving services which is expensive. We politely reached out to the company and shared our experience and nothing was done but the company giving us all of these new reasons and excuses for the service. Side note: upon arrival to our house, they were driving fast on our road and damaged our neighbors property.

What happened over the next week and a half was discouraging. I told them that I had a very restricted schedule (because I am a teacher). I cannot leave classes just because I have movers coming over. We tried to find a time, but it was hard. Eventually I asked my boss for a favor so I could get a time that would work. He let me out of a faculty meeting. This was a big favor. I worked hard to meet these movers halfway! But then on the day of the move, the movers called to say "Hey, we're done early today. Can we come to your place now?" It was TWO HOURS BEFORE THE AGREED TIME! I had to teach my class! What the hell? Who do these people think they are? I should leave work two hours earlier than OUR AGREED TIME just because it was MORE CONVENIENT FOR THE MOVERS? I tried to reach the dispatcher, Judy. I called her twice, but she didn't pick up. She claimed that she called me twice, but my phone said she hadn't. My phone ALWAYS picks up the missed calls. Her movers were certainly able to reach me via the same number. Judy said that she COULDN'T SEND THE MOVERS AT THE AGREED TIME BECAUSE SHE "DIDN'T WANT THEM WAITING AROUND FOR TWO HOURS." She said that over EMAIL. WHY ARE HER SCHEDULING ISSUES MY PROBLEM? You said 4-5PM, BE THERE AT 4-5PM! AND DON'T ACT LIKE YOU ARE _DOING_ME_A_FAVOR_BY_DOING_YOUR_JOB! Who do these people think they are? I cancelled my order. I will not be using them. I will be using someone else. This is flabbergasting, unacceptable. I can't hand over money to people who do such a miserable job with their customer service. Use someone else, someone who actually cares about their customers. Judy lost my sale, and broke a promise just because she can't schedule properly and because she didn't want to have her movers "sitting around for two hours" because she didn't have anything scheduled for them. Well, the estimator called me back and gave me some lame excuse as to why he didn't show up (no apology...and if there was a reason he couldn't show up, common courtesy is you CALL THE CUSTOMER!) Still, he asks if we can reschedule for an hour later. I hesitantly agreed. Fast forward to when he is supposed to come the second time. He still isn't here 20 minutes after the agreed upon time. Still NO CALL. So I called the company to cancel and he actually answered. I said "Well, you didn't show up a second time so I'm not using your company." He said "Well, I'm only like 5 minutes away but if you want to cancel, ok" I don't think he was only 5 minutes away! So...they won't be getting my business. While they were timely and polite, everything else couldn't have been worse. The damage to my household belongings was incredible - as if they were catapulting the pieces onto and off the truck. In addition to this ignominy, the total cost was double what a national carrier would charge...I used them before on xcountry moves with no problems but it seems the company was sold a while back with these results. Wow! Caveat emptor! ZERO/I mean '0' stars... Gone baby, GONE.
