The place is not much to look at...signs missing or falling down, etc. since it was lunch and there was not many people around, frankly, I wasn't really expecting much. Boy, was I wrong! The lunch came with a good sized helping of red beans and rice with sausage. Red beans were seasoned with sausage and an additional two links on the plate. The whole thing was pleasantly spicy. Got our crawfish fix over Easter from Debarge's . Ordered 15 lbs of crawfish but it included corn and potatoes so seemed a bit high per pound given it was a lot potatoes, corn and claws. The cracklings are the best I have had in a long time. Definitely would buy again from them but would prefer to see what's in the bags before we get home. Wanted some Cracklins so stopped by on my way back from Texas first and last time here got the pork cracklins they were the worst dry and hard and not taste at all got the shrimp there was no potatoes the seasoning was bad none the corn was just boiled in butter and the turkey necks were too seems as if they boil the shrimp in a little seasoning and that's it nothing is cooked with flavor I will never go back it's the worst if I could give it 0 stars that's what it would be I wasted almost 50.00. read more

5/5! We stopped here on our way to New Orleans for lunch. We were expecting just to get some crawfish and eat it, but we got something worth much, much more than that. Don't be fooled by their appearance! The storefront may look small, but their food packs a powerful punch. We strolled into the store, and were met by some of the most welcoming and nicest employees! They talked us through some of the different options available for crawfish and their other menu options. After thinking about it, we got the small crawfish and shrimp combo. Unfortunately, there were no tables to eat on, but as hungry travelers, this didn't hold us back. We decided to enjoy our crawfish out front on the sidewalk. While we were sitting there contemplating how to best dispose of the shells, one of the wonderful ladies there came out with supplies for us! We graciously accepted the disposable trays, plastic bags, and paper towels and went to town eating the yummy food! When we finished, we went back into the store to order some boudin balls and wash our hands. The same lady offered to take what remained of the crawfish and shrimp and dispose of it for us! As for the food itself, I do not think we could have picked a better time! We came right during crawfish season, so the crawfish were very reasonably priced, AND were super large, too. The seasonings were a perfect mix of savory and spicy, without one overpowering the other. For those who are not as keen with spicy foods, the house dipping sauce helps to relieve the heat while also providing a rich, cool flavor on top of the crawfish, shrimp, or whatever else you decide to dip into it. The corn and potatoes were cooked perfectly as well. They weren't overcooked or undercooked, but rather the corn was juicy and tender and the potatoes were super smooth and soft. All in all, I cannot offer any higher praise for Debarges Crawfish. The service was excellent, and is what I would call a perfect example of Southern hospitality. For whatever reason you decide to come to Debarges Crawfish, you will leave with a full belly and satisfied about choosing it! read more

It was ok. We had to wait a while. Menu was not clear. Outside vs inside vs another did not matchup. Crawfish was nice and spicy though.

Came to enjoy the crawfish, but found out it was drive thru & take out only. Ended up trying the boudin balls only, and they were great.

Most definitely will be heading back to this place the next time I'm in the area. I read the reviews and checked out all of the pictures that were posted and non of it did any justice to just how delicious the food really is. The line was initially long however it went really quickly. We went through the the drive through and greeted with a friendly smile and great customer service. We placed our order not knowing if it would be enough for the both of us especially after hearing the total. But let me tell ya it was more than enough especially since my husband eats a lot. After paying we were asked to pull around to the second window where we would actually receive the food. The time it took to get our food let's us know it's really made to order. This alone brings so much joy. Ahhhhhhh FRESH FOOD !!!!! We ordered boudin, fish, shrimp and fries. And I must say that I didn't expect the food to actually be that good. A++++ early May and the crawfish are huge. I got 3lbs today at $5/lb. They were all large except like 2 medium sized ones in there. Seasoning was great they had good heat but not too much. I had to walk 20 minutes from my hotel to get them and it was very much worth it. It's take out only so don't expect to go there and eat. read more

This is a true Alexandria institution. This is my third time going there, and it's walk-in or drive thru, but it has a large selection of Louisiana specialties that are hard to beat, such as cracklins, boudin links, boudin balls, pistolette, fried fish, etc. Very friendly owners, and the boudin balls ($1.50 each) are so delicious that I got 6 for my dad in Miami who considers them a real treat (there's nothing like that in South Florida). read more

On our way back from a road trip, my car was desperate for some crawfish. We found this place first but since there was no where to sit and eat, we kept looking. After driving in circles for about an hour and looking on Yelp for places, only to find that apparently they are all closed on Monday, we decided to grab some here and eat it at a nearby McDonald's. They were actually about an hour past closing time but still letting customers in and taking orders. The lady (I think an owner or manager) was extremely nice, friendly, and efficient. She popped some meat pies to be cooked just for us. Everything on the menu was cheap. I got a couple pounds of crawfish and some potatoes for like a quarter each. Their crawfish are different from any that I've had because they add pickled jalapenos to the boil, giving it a spicier, yet tangy and very distinct flavor. A co-worker picked this place and we pulled in expecting to dine in. When we realized it was take out, we debated moving on but decided to go in anyway. I started with a Boudin Ball with Pepper Jack Cheese. It was fantastic! Moist, spicy and very tasty. For my meal, I had the Boiled Shrimp with Corn & Potatoes. Between the cayenne pepper and sliced jalapeños, the shrimp was nice and spicy. The potatoes were perfect to soak up the flavor and the sweetness of the corn cut the heat nicely. The hotel lobby wasn't where I expected to dine but I'm so glad we didn't decide to find something else. The meal was a great value for the money and very, very tasty! I ordered 4 lbs of cracklins on 12/17/19 to be vacuum packed and was told by the manager they would be ready for pick up on 12/18/19. I made advance payment over the phone with the manager and gave her my phone number and i find out today 12/18/19, there are no cracklins available. I use to eat here all of the time. I moved away to TX and I am here visiting. I couldn't wait to get some crawfish at Debarge's . I bought 6 lbs. About a pound and a half was just smashed guts and claws with out tails. I bought 5 potatoes. Four of the potatoes were a good normal size. The fifth one was actually a mashedup mess. What a total waste of money. The crawfish was $8 a pound and was horrible. On top of everything the employees were not even friendly. Crawfish is the most expensive in the area, but they are the best tasting to me! EVERYTIME I'm in Alexandria I go straight to Debarges. The customer service is excellent and they put your crawfish in a durable plastic bag for no spills. They also sell THE BEST CRACKLINS EVER! I always get the cracklins too. I normally would have given this place 5 stars as I've done in the past but after my last order for a 15 piece shrimp was short and when I called to inquire how it could be corrected I was treated as if I lied and could not count I decided I probably shouldn't eat there again.
