Debarges is amazing! Best little joint to get your Cajun good! The Spicy Crawfish, Cracklins, Boudin Balls, and Meat pies are always delicious! We stop here every time we pass through Alexandria!

5/5! We stopped here on our way to New Orleans for lunch. We were expecting just to get some crawfish and eat it, but we got something worth much, much more than that. Don't be fooled by their appearance! The storefront may look small, but their food packs a powerful punch. We strolled into the store, and were met by some of the most welcoming and nicest employees! They talked us through some of the different options available for crawfish and their other menu options. After thinking about it, we got the small crawfish and shrimp combo. Unfortunately, there were no tables to eat on, but as hungry travelers, this didn't hold us back. We decided to enjoy our crawfish out front on the sidewalk. While we were sitting there contemplating how to best dispose of the shells, one of the wonderful ladies there came out with supplies for us! We graciously accepted the disposable trays, plastic bags, and paper towels and went to town eating the yummy food! When we finished, we went back into the store to order some boudin balls and wash our hands. The same lady offered to take what remained of the crawfish and shrimp and dispose of it for us! As for the food itself, I do not think we could have picked a better time! We came right during crawfish season, so the crawfish were very reasonably priced, AND were super large, too. The seasonings were a perfect mix of savory and spicy, without one overpowering the other. For those who are not as keen with spicy foods, the house dipping sauce helps to relieve the heat while also providing a rich, cool flavor on top of the crawfish, shrimp, or whatever else you decide to dip into it. The corn and potatoes were cooked perfectly as well. They weren't overcooked or undercooked, but rather the corn was juicy and tender and the potatoes were super smooth and soft. All in all, I cannot offer any higher praise for Debarges Crawfish. The service was excellent, and is what I would call a perfect example of Southern hospitality. For whatever reason you decide to come to Debarges Crawfish, you will leave with a full belly and satisfied about choosing it!

They wrong for this blshit 2.50$ for these lil ass boudin balls I ordered 3 like I usually do but I feel robbed and bamboozled

Most definitely will be heading back to this place the next time I'm in the area. I read the reviews and checked out all of the pictures that were posted and non of it did any justice to just how delicious the food really is. The line was initially long however it went really quickly. We went through the the drive through and greeted with a friendly smile and great customer service. We placed our order not knowing if it would be enough for the both of us especially after hearing the total. But let me tell ya it was more than enough especially since my husband eats a lot. After paying we were asked to pull around to the second window where we would actually receive the food. The time it took to get our food let's us know it's really made to order. This alone brings so much joy. Ahhhhhhh FRESH FOOD !!!!! We ordered boudin, fish, shrimp and fries. And I must say that I didn't expect the food to actually be that good. All in all we enjoyed everything and will be returning.

Passing by the state and wanted to try authentic food. The place looked questionable from the outside and had no dining in but the food was good. I took the cashiers recommendation and she didn't steer me wrong. I got the meat pie, cracklings and pepper jack boudin ball. Good stuff, and I'm glad that we stopped.

A++++ early May and the crawfish are huge. I got 3lbs today at $5/lb. They were all large except like 2 medium sized ones in there. Seasoning was great they had good heat but not too much. I had to walk 20 minutes from my hotel to get them and it was very much worth it. It's take out only so don't expect to go there and eat.

    Boiled shrimp. Great seasoning.

Good stop for picking up crawfish, cracklins, and other Cajun dishes. Have not had lunch here, but good sides. Probably other better stops than here.

This is a true Alexandria institution. This is my third time going there, and it's walk-in or drive thru, but it has a large selection of Louisiana specialties that are hard to beat, such as cracklins, boudin links, boudin balls, pistolette, fried fish, etc. Very friendly owners, and the boudin balls ($1.50 each) are so delicious that I got 6 for my dad in Miami who considers them a real treat (there's nothing like that in South Florida).

On our way back from a road trip, my car was desperate for some crawfish. We found this place first but since there was no where to sit and eat, we kept looking. After driving in circles for about an hour and looking on Yelp for places, only to find that apparently they are all closed on Monday, we decided to grab some here and eat it at a nearby McDonald's. They were actually about an hour past closing time but still letting customers in and taking orders. The lady (I think an owner or manager) was extremely nice, friendly, and efficient. She popped some meat pies to be cooked just for us. Everything on the menu was cheap. I got a couple pounds of crawfish and some potatoes for like a quarter each. It was all very flavorful and pretty spicy. I'm glad we stopped here!

Meat case... Marinated ribeyes, stuffed chickens, boudin. Cracklins and meatpies in the back.

Slow as I've ever seen and the employees are too busy cutting up to get any work done. How do these places stay open with shotty service?

Came to enjoy the crawfish, but found out it was drive thru & take out only. Ended up trying the boudin balls only, and they were great.

I was raised in SW Louisiana not far from where this Seafood Market is located, of course it didn't…read moreexist when I was a kid, but I do pride myself in knowing good seafood. My dad was an avid fisherman and shrimper and I've probably eaten more seafood and fish in my life than most. This little market is clean, it smells clean and it appears spotless which is one of the utmost important parts of preparing and selling fresh seafood and fish. It's crawfish season and I couldn't be happier to be in Louisiana this time of the year, I came here the first time during my visit for 100 lbs of live crawfish and some fresh jumbo Gulf Shrimp. Let me tell you folks if you've never participated in a fresh crawfish boil it should be on your bucket list. We caught this delectable mud-bugs as a kid and always looked forward to catching enough to have a boil but going out to a local restaurant or bar that featured these boils was okay as well but nothing compares to doing it yourself. Well over the years the art of boiling hundreds of pounds of live crawfish became the norm, I'd put my son's skill set against anyone and he definitely has the set-up to do it right. The attached photos will show there's a lot more to it than simply boiling water, it really is an art - the perfect blend of seasonings, the perfect temperature and contact tine also known in these parts as "soak time". Add in lots of corn on the cob, red potatoes, onions and mushrooms and it's magical of course the key ingredients is always lots of family and friends. This place provided Grade A Crawfish when it comes to the size and quality, lots of places offer live crawfish this time of the year but I'm sold on this place. My second visit here was less focused I was preparing to go back to Florida and although crawfish was still in the forefront of my thinking I knew I'd never travel with an ice chest of live crawfish and in my neck of the woods freezing whole crawfish is not ever an option so I was looking for fresh clean tail meat frozen for use at a later date (mainly crawfish étouffée) but maybe I could get creative and make some crawfish boudin, jambalaya or a fresh stuffing for a nice redfish or snapper I'll figure it out. I am sure I'll be visiting this place as much as I can in the future, the friendly staff was very accommodating and being I have family in the area, shipping it from here to Florida isn't that big of a deal, it's impossible to cook traditional Louisiana cuisine without fresh ingredients from Louisiana so I'm fortunate that way. This place is a little out of the way but well worth the drive if anywhere in the Lake Charles area...

The location is great and so is the service. The African American sister who helped us was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable, even directing us to the other location at Hawn. We don't remember her name but she is the reason that we will always come here. Her efficiency and multi-tasking are top notch. This store is well organized, with clearly marked spices, sauces, condiments and a wide variety of side dishes. The freezers were packed with everything from Gar, crab, shrimp and lobsters to stuffed meats. Fresh and cooked foods are readily available, as well as a menu on the A frame showing the day's special. There is also a variety of specialty items that we didn't expect to find but were truly delighted to pick up. We left with three bags full of delicious groceries.
