Where do I begin? We just had our wedding at Swallow East in Montauk this weekend and I needed to write this review right away because Deb was such an integral part in making our wedding the most incredible, special day of our lives. I was on the fence about hiring a day of coordinator but because we had a lot of moving parts-many out of town guests, a ceremony at the Lighthouse, etc. we decided to go for it. Having our wedding at Swallow East and hiring Deb were the two best decisions we made without a doubt! She goes well above and beyond what is stated on her contract. Deb met us for a site visit at the Montauk Lighthouse in freezing, windy rain and was a total trooper, while our umbrellas blew inside out! She then spent several hours with us and the manager of Swallow East to make sure we had a good plan for our reception. We had decided to do a less formal, cocktail type of reception and Deb was great about making sure there was enough seating, etc. She checked in with us throughout our whole planning process and even though she was only hired as a day-of coordinator, she made herself the middle man in dealing with a difficult vendor so I wouldn't have to deal with the stress the week of my wedding. The day of the wedding they were calling for possible rain showers and we decided to go for it and keep our ceremony at the Lighthouse instead of going to our rain plan. Deb was with my every step of the way when it started raining at our house moments before the trolley arrived to pick us up. She had already been in touch with people at the lighthouse and restaurant and reassured me that the storm was blowing through quickly and that the ceremony would happen outside. She provided massive white umbrellas for our bridal party to keep us dry as we boarded the trolley. The whole ride to the Lighthouse I was truly calm and believed her that everything was going to be okay. And it was! It stopped raining right before we got out of the trolley and we had the most beautiful ceremony! Deb feels like family to Josh and I-even our families are still talking about how amazing she was every step of the way. There's so many details that Deb made happen but the last one I'll mention is that Josh and I decided that we didn't want a big wedding cake because the desserts at Swallow East are amazing. We asked her if she thought it would be possible to get a local baker to make a small cake for Josh and I to cut using my grandma's carrot cake recipe. Not only did she say it was possible but Deb made the cake for us!!! It was so beautiful and delicious and so special because it brought my grandmother who had passed into our day. I'm not usually a writer of reviews but I need to let the world know the most AMAZING experience I had with Deborah Minarik Events, especially with Janet Godfrey. My daughter came to me while we were planning her wedding and said "Mama, I think we need to get a wedding planner. I was not thrilled with that idea because I just saw more money going out the door. My daughter insisted that I just meet and speak to Janet and then I can make up my mind, so I did. I was having a few issues with some ideas for the wedding so I thought what a great time to see what she know before I hire her. Well Janet sat with me for 2 hours and gave me at least 15 different ideas on what I could do to solve my issues, all this time and ideas without even hiring her. I loved her personality and professionalism right away and I left that meeting feeling like I had known her forever. We hired her!! The next year in planning my daughter's wedding with Janet was GREAT! I had an issue, I would call and she would give me options on how to fix whatever the issue was at that time or she would say to me don't worry about it I will take care of it! The day of the wedding, THANK GOODNESS I HAD JANET! I was able to enjoy every aspect of my daughter's day because Janet took care of EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING! If my daughter or new son-in-law needed something she was right there, if the venue had a question Janet was right there, if my husband wanted something she was right there, if someone went astray for pictures, she found them and brought them back. I worried about NOTHING!! I had such a great experience that I immediately referred her to a friend of ours that also hired her as soon as they met her to take care of their daughter's wedding! We worked with Janet Godfrey from DME for our wedding and honestly don't even know where to begin on how amazing she was. I can't imagine how our day could have come together and ran smoothly without her. Throughout the planning process she was there to keep us calm, on track, and make sure we were getting what we really wanted. As someone who never imagined she would hire a coordinator, I can say it is the BEST wedding related decision I made (well, aside from marrying my husband of course!!) She worked with us throughout the whole process, kept our rehearsal and dinner running smoothly and handled everything, literally everything, on our wedding day. The running joke/battle cry/theme for the day and night became #AskJanet because she had the answer to every question, and had what seemed like a Mary Poppins bag filled with literally anything and everything anyone needed for the big day. Not to mention she is so so sweet and was an absolute pleasure to work with. She also handled a MAJOR issue for us with our limo company on the day of our wedding. Without her there to handle this we would have had literally no transportation from the church to the venue due to an issue with the AC in the bus which was sent to us. The decor and beautiful touches she incorporated throughout the venue really made the big day feel like ours. Every bride has a vision for their day, but for us we simply didn't have the time to put it all together. Having Janet there allowed us to make our dreams a reality. Most importantly having Janet there made my wedding day, fun, enjoyable, and dare I say stress-free. I was extremely skeptical about getting a wedding planner. I had asked a few new brides what they had thought about getting one and it was literally 50/50 Some said they are not needed while others said day of planners were a must. I had called my photographer, William Thomas photography, and had asked his opinion and recommended Deb. After emailing her and sitting down in person with her, she was beyond helpful with everything. Any question I had was answered and even questions I hadn't even asked myself were brought up. Questions I never would have thought of without her. Leading up to the day she helped my vendors stay on track and took so much of the work load off me. The day of my wedding, Oct 5 2018, she showed up at my house with itinerarys for everyone for that day. She even was so helpful with a bridesmaid needing a steamer for her dress and my sister who needed a new dress clasp. She was so helpful in setting everything up to be photgraphed by the photographer and just was on top of everything. Throughout the day she just made sure everything was right on track, always a step ahead of everyone so even If something was to go wrong she was on top of it to get it fixed. My husband and his party ended up getting screwed by their suit place and ties, vests and colors were all missing and messed up and she was there to help my husband figure everything out so I didn't blow up. The day went so smoothly and organized and I know without her it wouldn't have been the same. She is worth every penny and I am so glad that I had her beside me all day. We tied the knot last week, and our wedding was an absolute dream, thanks to our Day-of-Coordinator (actually, she was with us for the month leading up to it), Becca. She's truly exceptional. Despite my meticulous organization, I still felt overwhelmed thinking about how everything would come together on the big day. But every time I spoke with Becca, my stress visibly eased. She exuded comfort and confidence, assuring me that she'd orchestrate our wedding flawlessly. Janet Godfrey was my DOC and she was truly SUCH a blessing. We were in contact for several months prior to the wedding and Janet helped me with various tasks such as my hotel block, finding a chaplain, securing our honor guard with the chapel etc. She provided tip guidelines, reached out to all my vendors, and eventually worked with me to solidify my timeline. I live out of state, so we met in-person only once, several weeks before the wedding and for two hours she went over every single little detail with me. Where Janet really shined, was of course the day of. I can't express enough, that without Janet...our wedding wouldn't have been as perfect (and on time) as it was. Anytime anyone needed something, Janet was right there, with a smile on her face, a solution to the problem, and a water bottle with a straw just in case you were thirsty. Parents, groomsman, and bridesmaids ALL made comments to me about how "awesome" Janet was. I know there's so much more that Janet did for us, a lot of things I'm not even aware of, but here are a few things I wanted to highlight: -I hated my bouquet. Janet drove back to the florist (where she had just come from) and had them remake it. -We forgot my fiancés military uniform, and realized on the drive to the chapel. Janet turned around and got it from the hotel. -I forgot the shoes I wanted to change into, and they magically appeared at the venue because Janet got them at the hotel. I had the absolute pleasure of having Deborah as my "day of coordinator" for my wedding on May 4th. From the moment my mom and I met Deborah at a bridal expo, we clicked right away. Even though I only had her as a "day of" wedding planner, she answered all my emails and questions from the day I met her on. She recommended my vendors, and confirmed that the vendors I already booked were fantastic. Most importantly, having Deborah allowed my mom and me to have the most relaxing and stress free wedding day. She contacted all my vendors, set up the timeline for the wedding day and organized all the tips and handed them out to the vendors. She was at my house from 11am and did not leave the wedding until I left on my bus back to the hotel at 12am. She was there every step of the way and I couldn't of been more grateful for her on the biggest day of my life! Even if anything went wrong that day, I had no idea because she took care of everything. When my husband was getting ready in the morning he realized the tuxedo place forgot his pocket square. Deborah told me not to worry, and immediately went out to her car and had an extra one for him. It was the small things, like that, that make her truly one of a kind. Coming from a bride who never thought of getting a wedding planner when I first started planning my wedding-- I HIGHLY recommend Deborah Minarik Events!!! Deb and her team truly were a prayer answered to make sure my daughter and son In law had their wedding reception after having it postponed 4 times. My daughter and son in law were married on April 3, 2020 in my home via zoom. Because of covid their reception was pushed off to December 26, 2020, but that fell through as well. After speaking with a friend we decided we were going to have the reception in her backyard on their 1 year anniversary. Again 3 weeks prior to that date we could not do it there, because of social gathering mandates would only allow 25 people in a backyard. Deb and her team tirelessly found a site that was not only affordable, but beautiful. We celebrated my daughter and son in law on May 1. 2021 at Camp Pa-qua-tuck in Center Moriches. Deb collaborated with the rental company we originally hired for the backyard wedding and helped with the process of the new location and everything we would need for this long awaited event. She was also in close contact with my caterer and every other vendor as well. There was nothing she couldn't have done better to make this day one of the most happiest days for my daughter and son in law. Deb is such an amazing person, and I know that she takes pride in her profession, and her business. I decided to look into a day of coordinator later in the wedding planning process. Everyone online had recommended Deb and her team, now I understand why! They said she was the best of the best, especially for the Bourne Mansion! Everyone was right! Deb took time to reassure me and listen to me vent during the hectic & stressful months leading up to the wedding. She guided me throughout the planning process and always made herself available for any questions/concerns I had. When wedding day came, she arrived to my hotel room and I immediately could relax knowing my wedding day was in good hands! It was so important to my mom and me (type A/controlling LOL) that we could be relaxed and hands off on wedding day. Working with Deb and her team was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We were supposed to get married in September 2020 and when we decided to postpone until 2021, Deb was there to help us every step of the way and was always available to answer emails, texts and phone calls. Then when we decided to move everything up to New Year's Eve and forgo our September celebration, Deb could not have been more supportive and willing to make sure our intimate celebration was still special. Since Deb had another event, Kristin on her team was there to help us out on the big day and she was amazing! I could not be more grateful she was there. After getting engaged every couple has the critical conversation of whether to hire a coordinator or to manage the logistics themselves. As we entered the serious planning stage, it made it more apparent that a coordinator would be helpful to manage all of our day of logistics and vendor contracts. Our wedding turned out to be magical and perfect and Deborah was absolutely essential in making that happen. She is so knowledgeable, knows how to handle any situation, so responsive, and personable. She also knew the best vendors who were talented, kind, easy to work with, and the most reasonably priced. After visiting all our vendors together and going through all the planning steps, Deborah quickly felt like family. We wouldn't want anyone else by our sides during contract negotiations, last second ice purchasing at the supermarket, or figuring out where lost family members are. We were married September 16, 2018, we started planning our wedding by ourselves for about a year. One of the first pieces of advice we received was to get a Day of coordinator which I had never heard of before and to be honest beliebed it wouldn't be necessary. When we first met Deborah, We knew that wasn't true. I had told her the craziness of my families and everything about the venue, and she just understood everything. She immediately felt like a friend. Deborah helped with any questions I had the whole time, and that's just before the wedding. The day of, she was my superhero. We were married in Montauk in September and I was referred to Deb by a friend. She was already booked for our date, but recommended that I work with her assistant Jenna, who she described as being very organized (she was right!). I ended up working with Jenna for day-of coordination - both Deb & Jenna were available for questions in the year leading up to the wedding. In the ~2 month period beforehand, Jenna and I worked closely together to develop a day-of schedule, confirm timelines with vendors, and work out all of the last minute details. While I consider myself extremely organized and planned most of the details myself, I didn't realize how much I would need Jenna's help in the preparation for the wedding and especially on the day of. She was available for all of my small, sometimes silly questions and made sure that I didn't have to worry about a single thing on my wedding day. My husband and I got married on LI but we live in NC so planning a wedding from a distance can be a challenge, but with Deborah and Becky, I didn't have to worry about a thing! They made planning our wedding enjoyable and took all the stress out of it. My mom said it best when she turned to me at the end of our wedding and said, "what would we have done without Janet?"  Janet is the fairy Godmother you didn't know you absolutely needed. We hired her as our day of coordinator, but she coordinated much longer than just the day of. She came with me to my last dress fitting to learn how to bustle, she was in constant contact, she kept in touch with all of our vendors and kept me posted on any changes that I wasn't aware of.  The day of the wedding, she was absolutely essential. She was my everything person. She made calls, she helped me with my dress (it did not fit - she pinned me into it!) she worked with the venue staff to make sure all was running smoothly, she knew when to check in with us and when to give a little space, and she packed everything for us beautifully at the end of the night. I hired Janet with Deborah Minarik events for my wedding a few weeks ago and I am so glad I did. I cannot say enough amazing things about Janet. First off, she is ON POINT! Everything she did to help my wedding was exactly perfect. She kept every single part of my day running smoothly. She helped with my dress and the bustle, my veils, she had food and water for me and made sure I ate, she kept the lu on track, photo and video on track, kept all my bridesmaids on track, had a detail oriented timeline for everyone to follow, and truly made my day as spectacular as possible. Where to begin! Deb was the best money we spent for our entire wedding. Before booking, we questioned if a DOC was something we really needed and I honestly don't know how we would've done it without her. Whether it was her or Stephanie, either one of them were always available leading up to the wedding to talk through anything. They also went over the timeline with me and my husband multiple times before the wedding so we were never guessing what/when was happening. The day of, she was there and took care of legitimately everything. She had drinks ready and in our hands while we were taking so many pictures, got a stain out of my dress right before walking down the aisle, and even had contact solution to give me when my contacts were bothering me towards the end of the night. Janet Godfrey was hands down the best wedding coordinator I could have asked for. She went above and beyond the call of duty the months before the wedding and especially the day of. She met with me multiple times, gave me great advice on things, helped me stay on track with the timing of everything AND she saved the day when our welcome sign (from Etsy) was delivered broken a week before the wedding - she replicated the exact one I wanted. She also made an amazing seating chart and card holder for me to use the day of. She is super organized, punctual, thought of everything. She is also the NICEST person in the world. She is sweet and has a calm demeanor about her which is helpful when you are a stressed out bride!! haha. I could not have been happier with her and would recommend her without a doubt.
