Incredible. All around this was a fabulous experience from start to finish. Brooke was absolutely charming, welcoming and knowledgeable. She did an excellent job on my hair and make-up and much like other reviews, definitely worth spending the extra $30 on eyelashes - I have thick natural lashes but with the lighting you really do need that extra Oomph. I appreciated her helping me lay out my outfits and choose (I brought SO many options that I needed the help to narrow down!). I never felt pressured to buy any of their lingerie (though boy was I tempted! It is a beautiful big loft space, airy and bright. The actual room where you are photographed is luxe. You walk in and are like, seriously? Can I LIVE here? A girls boudoir heaven. Skye was my photographer and I LOVED her! She was witty, fun, kept me informed and included me in the process instead of just telling me what to do, she allowed me to play a little and to suggest ideas, too. Loved her energy and passion for her work. She is a talented photographer and the results were so beyond what I had expected... WOW. She made me feel and look great! When I came back to view my photos, Hannah was incredibly professional but kind and warm. I actually had my shoot at the Beverly Hills location and came downtown to view my photos weeks after my actual shoot. The Beverly Hills location actually closed recently. So, day of the shoot...I bring in clothes and photo ideas because I am type A and I know what I want in my head so I came prepared or so I thought. Akilah did my hair and make up. She's as awesome. Very nice to chat with and made you feel comfortable from the very welcoming in. The hair and make up turned out perfect. My hair was beautifully curled and it turned out incredible in the photos as did my eye make up. Somehow you managed to make it look like I had false lashes on which I didn't. So, thank you for that! Next I had my pics taken with Kimber. Kimber has a way about her that makes you feel comfortable, beautiful, sexy and alive. Not only will she direct you during the shoot but she will also help with outfit suggestions, and help you work in your suggestions you came with. And she will reassure you that awesome shots were taken during that outfit gallery you had on. Flash forward weeks later when I came downtown to view the photos. First, they normally want you to view them a couple days later but they were so accommodating with me when I had to make the appointment so far in advance. I arrived late and they displayed no attitude whatsoever. I met with Hannah who showed me around, got me a water and helped me review the photos. I am more than picky so we went through these multiple times before I finally settled on my magnificent gallery. Hannah was patient with me and understood my attention to detail I made in each photo. The photos I would be proud to show off. I was so happy with this entire process. They are very clear with you during the appointment setting process to check the website and review all the information. That's your responsibility. This was my first ever boudoir shoot and Brooke, Kimber and Crystal are all professional, good energy, and extremely helpful. Kimber is amazing at her work, i know she really loves her profession, she also made me feel super comfortable and confident. I wasn't too sure what to expect from the shoot. So I kept my expectations in check. It was fairly easy setting up an appointment online and last minute changes--although not advisable--was made possible by the gracious coordinator/make-up artist Brooke. I walked in, chatted for a little bit with Brooke on what my options were, then decided to go ahead with the admittedly pricey--but convenient for the lazy and unskilled--make up and hair touch up. I was happy with it. One thing I regretted was not bringing my own set of lingerie. Could've saved around 100bucks. 4 outfits people--take note of that. If you're ill prepared like me, they have you covered since they have a fantastic collection of intimates on site anyways. The shoot with Kimber was very empowering to say the least. She made you feel comfortable with what your preference may be while subtlely hinting on what she thinks may work best. No coercion. There was non-stop flow of dialogue on the extent of poses to work with that you feel comfortable in doing. I loved it. Love the results. So I did my photo shoot at the Los Angeles location and I must say that after doing this, I am convinced that every woman should do this for themselves at least once. The photographer (Kimber) was awesome!! She kept me motivated, energized and feeling empowered, which was made me more comfortable. (Brooke) was great at explaining the whole process to me prior to taking the photos. I brought four outfits and they took multiple pics of each, which was fantastic!! When I came back to view my photos I met (Hannah) who was extremely helpful in assisting me with picking my photos. She had some fabulous ideas. I can honestly say my experience at the Los Angeles location was the BEST!!! Especially for first timers like myself. i've done quite my share of boudoir shoots in hopes of capturing my younger, hotter self for when im in my 40-somethings, and deBoudour is hands down the BEST. I've shot with them three times now (once in Carlsbad, once at the old Beverly Hills studio with Kimber, and once with Kimber here at the new dtla studio). Each shoot produces better pictures than the last, because my comfort level with myself and in front of the camera increases exponentially. Their photographers and editors are also very talented, and make you feel and look like a sexpot (in a great way). First of all, the entire process at deBoudoir is VERY professional. They do not allow men in any of their studios or for the viewing appointments, so you always feel like you are in a strong female zone. They also outsource their photos to a partner vendor who specializes in boudoir prints, so you get high quality and the added discreteness of not having the guy at walgreens see your photos if you choose to print them. Check their pricing before you jump in, as it's quite money, but you really do get what you pay for. They circulate groupons regularly for $19 sitting fee (as opposed to $400), which is a steal for an hour shoot and 4 outfits. Image pricing is $159 for a single image, and $800 for 7. It goes up from there. I've never ever been able to leave deBoudoir without purchasing the 7-pack, as I'd really regret not having those pictures in the future. The downtown studio is top knotch. It's chic and located in the poppin arts' district of DLTA, which is just booming. There's a great restaurant and wine bar around the corner for you to go out afterwards. The decor is all very... "naughty princess", which is perfect for a boudoir shoot. There's lace, gold, chains, diamonds, beads, everything. Kimber, the photographer, is AMAZING. She tells you you look amazing, and she really makes you feel like you are the fierce tigress that you could be. It shows in her pictures. If you feel awkward, tell her and she will help you through being more comfortable in your own skin. At the end, you'll probably want to just hang out with her and be her friend because she makes you feel so awesome about yourself. Tips: -They offer hair and make-up if you aren't comfortable doing your own, but if you are, that's a great way to save some cash. Do your eyes up really dark for added sultry effect. -False lashes are a MUST. they make your eyes really pop and add that bedroom-boudoir-seductive feel -Corsets end up looking best, as they add that that boudoir/bedroom feel, boost up your girls, and suck in the rest. get ones with boning for that extra "hourglass" effect. if you don't have any, they sell them at the studio for anywhere between $80-150 each -Bring black lace undies, black thigh highs with a lace top (that stay up well), and black heels. Bring jewelry and hair accessories. These all really enhance your photos and make them look high quality. -Come with girlfriends, and make it a fun event together. You shoot separately, but if you book stacked appointments, you can help each other get ready and feel comfortable, and then go out on the town all made up! -Parking is free on the streets, but read the signs. -Studio is inside a converted loft, so go inside and check in with the guard, and get sent up to apt 311. -To see your pics, you come back a few days later, because the editors (who are the best I have EVER seen) put in a good 4-6 hours on just your photos. You'll have about 100-150 great photos to view, and each one looks, feels, and will hit you differently. You'll have quite a hard time narrowing down, but the whole process will make you realize just how sexy or beautiful you can be and already are. -Overall, just be free with yourself and have fun. It's an empowering, different, and very eye-opening experience! read more

I had such a fabulous time. I would so recommend every women to try this at least once. I myself loved it so much that I might go back for another shoot. I brought a Groupon and was a little skeptical at first because it said you would have to purchase the digital prints separately and it wasnt included, but i decided to go any ways. How doesnt want to get dolled up and have someone take pictures of you? When I got there Brooke was so helpful. Helped me lay out my outfits. Went over the pricing with me and did my hair. I loved my hair so much, I was able to still go out on a date with it after my shoot. Sky was amazing. She knew which position to put you in to make you look most flattering. She walked me through everything. Was so encouraging. All my apprehension disappeared I felt amazing, sexy, seductive. When I came back to pick my picture Hannah was so helpful. I had a great time at my photo shoot. I bought a groupon and it included hair as well. Although I had a little mix up with my actual appointment scheduling, I like the fact that you can book your appointment on line. I got my make up done at the Mac counter at Nordstrom and they did amazing since I told them what it was for. The location can be a little confusing if you don't know the area, but once you are there it is beautiful! Brook did my hair and she was very calming and had great style. Then Sky took over the whole show. She directed me and made me feel great! When I went to view the pictures with Hannah, she helped me out amazingly and didn't make me feel pressured at all. Deboudoir photography was great! Taking these pictures was something i always wanted to do, so when i finally got the opportunity it was a great experience. Brooke (make-up artist) did a good job convincing me and putting on my lashes seeing as I'm not a big make-up person. Sky (photographer) made me feel so comfortable. I told her the look i was going for and she and my friend made it happen! I loved all the ideas and poses she gave. I know she'll be proud of the pictures. Hanna (sales) was so nice. Thank you deBoudoir for such an wonderful experience! I am very happy with my photos. I choose to do a boudoir shoot because...well...I work hard and I deserve a little something for me. So, for my 33rd birthday I decided to do it! I am so glad I did. I really loved the atmosphere and decor at the studio, everything looked pretty and I knew my photos would take on the same elements and style. I enjoyed working with Brooke, she took her time with my make up and she even put on my clip hair extensions which made my pictures look amazing! My pictures were taken by Kassia and she was such a sweetheart, she was very quick with her work but I think she wanted to get the best angles in the best light possible. She even asked me what type of music I wanted to listen so that I can be more comfortable during the shoot. I really liked that she directed me with what I needed to do. I also put in my two cents on how I wanted to pose and of course she offered suggestions to make it look even better! Overall, it was a birthday to remember. I also did a Groupon, but you have to do your homework first before you decide to get a groupon. There is a website, the prices are all there, and there are no surprises on it. You bring all of your wardrobes and you can buy their garments there, so I was pleased with it all and you have to come in knowing what your budget is and be wiling to enjoy the moment and splurge! These pictures are beautiful now and they will be even more beautiful when you see them again 20 or 30 years from now. It's well worth it to me. Kimber, Brooke, and Hannah are awesome. I wasn't shy about taking these sexy pics, but if you're hesitant or uncomfortable about being in nothing but your undies (or less) these ladies will make you feel so comfortable. They're very sweet and funny. The sitting goes by fast, but it's a lot of fun and the pictures are available within about 48 hours, which is great. Now with that said, the pictures themselves aren't cheap, but as a once in a lifetime (or once every 10 years kind of thing), I think it's totally worth it, especially for the level of professionalism these ladies have. It's a must do for anyone thinking of surprising a special someone or even to just confirm how hot you are. ;) Oh, and to Elizabeth who wrote the one star review, I got the Groupon too and it clearly stated it was just for the sitting and no pictures were included. And I'm also writing this review without getting the bonus pic. I honestly had a good time and didn't even want an extra picture for writing a review, which I could have totally gotten. Sky and Brooke were so amazing to work with! They made me feel comfortable and relaxed from the minute I walked in. Brooke did a wonderful job with my hair and make up and Sky is just genius. She had plenty of suggestions for poses and shot the photos from flattering angles. The photos came out very pretty and feminine. Just what I wanted! Very professional yet warm and friendly staff! Clean, very tastefully decorated studio. It was so much fun to play model for a day. We took over 200 photos and they were all of great quality. I am so disappointed. I bought a Groupon for this, spent hours getting ready, read their website, and discovered upon arrival that you don't even get one picture with your Groupon purchase. The minimum fee, above and beyond the Groupon was $195 for ONE photo. Then they told me that for a multiple photo package AND a good Yelp review I could get a discount. Isn't that unethical?! The girls who work at this place are wonderful. Cassia was my photographer and she made me so comfortable. I didn't know what to expect since I'd never done this before, but she showed me every single pose prior to shooting, and we laughed a lot. Brooke did my makeup and she was great, and Hannah helped me pick out my photos and I had a lot of fun sitting with her and selecting them. I scheduled an appointment and was at the studio almost starting to have my makeup applied, but right before shooting the camera broke. They gave me 2 additional images at no cost, because I had to drive to the studio twice. I loved the discreetness of the place. It's in a loft apartment building so it's like you're just going to see a friend and no one has a clue you what you are actually up to! The only reason I didn't put 5 stars is because the pricing is a bit hard to swallow. I guess if this is a once in a lifetime thing you do, then you can manage the price just once. The only thing is that it is so much work for the photographer, stylist, and editors and then I only came away with 10 photos out of 125. The work had already been done and it's just disappointing that I couldn't afford more photos. I even used a groupon and was able to get the sitting fee at $19 instead of the posted $399, but in total I still spent $875 for the photos and makeup. I think the pricing is comparable to other Boudoir studios I have seen, it's just a shame that for most people, it is probably too expensive. All in all it was a fantastic experience and my husband LOVED the photos. If I decide to do this again I would definitely go back to this studio. read more

I AM A COMPLETELY HAPPY CUSTOMER!I have been wanted to do a photo shoot as such for the past two years for my husband and I am so happy I decided to go to this studio. From the minute I walked in I was greeted with a big smile. Brooke knew what to do with my hair and make-up which was beautifully and professionally done. As soon as Brooke was done with me, the photographer, Sky made me feel extremely comfortable with her professional/bubbly personality. First, she asked me a series of question about to get a field of what my husband likes and she gave me some pointers on how to achieve the sexy, provocative, and romantic poses. Through all this she asked me what was my favorite type of music and to my surprise she was a country lover too so my entire photo shoot there was country music playing in the back round, which made me feel right at home. By the end of the session I felt confident and super sexy with the camera. Sky's coaching photo shoot helped me achieve the look I wanted for my pictures. The proof are in the pictures!! When it was time to decide what pictures I would buy it was really tough because they were ALL beautiful. My boyfriend and I were absolutely blown away with the quality of shots I got from my session! I had never done any kind of boudoir photography before so I was a bit nervous about the experience, but everyone made me feel very comfortable and were helpful the whole way through. One thing I can recommend is to read the ENTIRE WEBSITE before your session if you've never done it before. There are many helpful tips about outfits, accessories, etc. It's also important to know the pricing before you get to the studio. We bought a Groupon which made the sitting fee next to nothing, but to purchase then digital negatives is definitely not cheap! Also, the hair and makeup package is absolutely essential unless you are a make up artist yourself, my photos definitely would not have had the polished, professional look without the extra help! I was extremely pleased with the whole experience, and now I have some great photos to look back on. read more

I seriously cannot recommend this enough. WORTH IT. WORTH IT SO MUCH. I was nervous as hell, the memory of my mother telling a 12-year old me "You have the same big hips and flabby upper arms I have" echoing through my head and a giant bag of props and lingerie under my arm, with no idea what might look great on camera. But then the loft was beautiful, a glass of red wine went smoothly into my hand and from there on, it was one of the best afternoons of my year. Brooke helped me choose what order and what outfits to wear (and I LOOVE the stockings I last-minute decided to buy on location), and then Sky (photographer) became my own personal angel with a camera. We had so much fun I would've invited her to be a bridesmaid if I weren't already married. I felt awesome for the whole photo shoot. And amazing for days afterwards. Looking at the photos when I came byt for my consultation - wow. I'm not a pretty girl - I never have been, at best I'm more of a comically cute, big-titted, curvy bit of nonsense--but when I saw myself in the pictures Sky took that afternoon I felt BETTER than pretty - I felt beautiful, unique, special. I felt like maybe these moments Sky captured are the way I look in the moments where those I love find me most ME most worthwhile I love those pics. And I had NO intention of doing the "fine art: nude $99 add-on"...but ladies.....yeah. You gotta do this. For you, for a friend, to say fuck you to a bunch of losers you don't like, for a lover, a wife or a husband...get in there. Take it off and find yourself like I did. DeBoudoir Photography was amazing!!! Im a very shy person and especially getting down to my panties infront of a complete stranger. My friend got me the session so it wasnt my idea. I get there and Im greeted by Brooke, of the bat shes really nice and very inviting. At this point I was very nervous about the session but Brooke calmed me down. I felt like I was talking to an old friend. So then I met Sky the photagrapher who is amazing. She made me feel comfortable in my own skin and even sexy! She gave me great direction and made it FUN!!! Hannah helped me go through the 130+ pics and dwindle down the number to the ones I wanted. She was very patient with me and listened to what I liked. These group of girls are amazing, they love what they do and would totally do this over and over again. I recently got a groupon and went to the deboudior photography studio in Los Angeles to take classic pin up style photos. I was a bit nervous as I have never done anything like that and am not the most confident in my physique. Parking is a bit scarce, but there is a parking lot on the corner, closed on Sundays. The staff was very good at calling to give reminder to your appointment as well as any questions. I even got a bit lost and the employee Brooke answered and very patiently and kindly got me to the place. They greet you in the lobby and walk with you to the studio, the studio is very quaint, lovely, and cozy. I was offered different choices of beverages and she explained how it would go. We picked outfits I brought with me and have beautiful corsets for purchase as well. She also did my hair; it didn't take super long and looked really nice. The photographer Sky was also very nice and both made me feel more at ease. The studio was set into different background sections and the photographer did a great job at building my confidence, I was able to be relaxed and enjoy the experience. She illustrated several of the ways she wanted me to pose and directed me to feel I was getting the best shots possible, she even prior to the shoot asked me the areas I felt most confident and which I was a little more shy about and throughout the photo shoot concentrated to make me look good and focus on the areas I do like and conceal those I don't; a big thing for someone like me whose not so comfortable with my body, by the end my confidence had improved and at reviewing my shots you can see that through the film. It was very fun and I would recommend it to any girl for herself or someone special to give to the photos to. After seeing the pictures, I was even more happy, because the hard critic I am on myself there were so many photos I didn't even believe were myself and Sky did such a great job at creating a diverse session from which to choose; I had shots that were done very artistically, some playful, sexy, happy, beautiful. The editor also did a great job and Hannah, my consultant to go over the photos at a few days later was also very friendly and sweet. She also offered me a beverage and chocolate upon arrival and then took time to go over each photo, give her opinion and be very patient to work with me to pick the photos that I wanted most. It is a bit pricy, I won't lie, but as this is not an experience you do often, I do feel it is worth it and a good investment in something that gives you a little lift in confidence. I took one star off because the pictures were extremely expensive and because in a couple of the pictures you could see my bra inserts so would have thought they would edit them out but when I asked I was told it would cost extra to edit the pics again which is a bummer since I really liked those in particular. Overall I would highly recommend doing this for yourself and Brooke, Sky and Hannah definitely made the experience that much better! read more

Great experience! I purchased a deal from Amazon and got my hair done and photos at the BH location; and went to the new downtown location to look at the pictures. This was something I never thought I would do, but it really was so much fun and the pictures came out GREAT!!! I can't stop looking at the pictures I purchased!! Little pricey, but again, this is something you don't do everyday and I would like to have some proof of my youth for when I get older! Everybody was really nice and professional. My pictures were taken by Kimber, who was really energetic and helped me with my outfits; and Hannah went over my pictures with me and helped me pick a few that I really liked. The only downside to the whole experience was the location change that happened right after I had my photos taken, as the downtown location is kind of far for me; but they accommodated me on a Sunday to view the pictures, which worked out fine. As the studio is obviously geared more toward women then men, I did not know what to expect...yet I was quite pleased with both the process and the outcome. Photographer Kimber had a lot of creative ideas, listened to what I was looking for, was open to suggestions, played music that helped set certain moods, recommended various attire (and sometimes lack thereof), and took a wide variety of shots in various settings. The retouchers they use did an excellent job, and so I purchased several photos and did not really feel the need to alter most of them further. In regard to those who think the price is high, you get what you pay for. If you want cheap looking, cookie-cutter shots that cost less, there are plenty of other options in this town. If you want high quality and something you will be happy with, go here...it's really that simple...you will find yourself having a difficult time eliminating photos in the review process that comes later because they take pride in their work. Speaking of which, Hannah was exceptionally flexible and understanding in accommodating my ever-changing work schedule in regards to doing the photo review. read more
