Im blown away by the work Florence did on my teeth. I have lived in several states and have visited many different dentists but never once has one dentist come close to as amazing and professional as this office. I changed insurance to Kaiser Permenente and their dental plan is very limite. I went to a different dentist and was so upset with the cleaning that I ended up schwdulkng an appointment the next month with Dechter and Moy. As soon as you arrive to this dentist, you are welcomed with sweet receptionists and then Florence worked on my teeth this past time and she took her time and explained to me what she was doing and looking for. I love learning new things and she talked to me so kindly. My teeth felt like new when she was done and I didn't feel pressured to spend more money on non-sense things like my last dentist tried telling me I needed to fix 6 cavities Clem to fin out they weren't cavities. This dentist understands things are expensive and explained to me what I needed to take care of right away and what could wait until I get back on board with better dental insurance. I've been a patient here for at least 6+ years, and I'll continue using their services. Every hygienist has been fabulous. I'm not a fan of the Cavitron (sic) because the pressure hurts my sensitive gums. That's never a problem and they still provide amazing cleanings. I just had a cleaning this past Friday. I prefer a hygienist that balances out light conversation with proper scraping pressure. I understand that some might have trouble concentrating if they talk... They are not required to reveal their life story. However, I don't like the awkward silent treatment. A few kind words helps me deal with dental visits... Moving forward, I'm always welcomed by a warm receptionist; Mitzy (spelling) fits right in to the family--she's fairly new to the practice. We square away the business and she's extremely flexible with appointments. Dr. Moy has been my dentist and he's the nicest man! He assesses what needs to be done and provides the necessary options. I am someone who is absolutely terrified of going to the dentist. To the point of neglecting my oral care for years and living with terrible, near-constant pain. When it all got to be too much, I reluctantly made an appointment with Dr. Moy. How I wish I had met him years ago! He is, without question, the best, most caring, most understanding dentist I've ever met. He calmed my anxieties and came up with a treatment plan to fix the problems that left me in agony for so long. He never made me feel ashamed. And the best part is that I've now had several visits with several procedures and all of them were pain-free. Because of Dr. Moy and the amazing team there (Kimba is also amazing and deserves a shout-out), I am no longer afraid of going to the dentist. I never thought that would be possible for me. I don't think I have ever left the dentist office happier than I was today. I went for my regular cleaning and lamented to Dr. Dechter that I really wanted Invisalign, but two different orthodontics wanted to pull teeth first and then put me in metal braces. As always, his office is on top of everything with the latest and greatest stuff and introduced me to ClearCorrect - a brand new product. It is very similar to Invisalign and that I would be a perfect candidate for this without any teeth pulling. On top of this great news, I don't have to find an orthodontist, he can do it!!! I'm on top of the world with this news. Every time I go there, I am impressed with how current they are with all the latest dentistry techniques. I'm a customer for life. On a totally different subject, we took my 92 year old mother in law there just last week.... she had not been to a dentist in decades and had a fear of them. I have been a patient of Dr Dechter's since he opened his practice and lived upstairs. His quest for perfection and the latest techniques balanced with common sense and what is best for the patient has not varied since day one. Just yesterday, I came in for my routine 6 month checkup and unfortunately had broken a tooth in the days before the appointment. Dr Dechter took the time to see me immediately, fabricated a crown on the spot and I walked out with a beautiful brand new tooth in no time, compared with having to come back another day to have the crown prepared and impression taken and yet another visit to have it cemented in. That's cutting edge as well as respect for the patient's time. Kudos as well to Dr Moy who has seen me for emergency visits over the years when Dr Dechter was not available and Florence, my hygienist, who has the sunniest disposition of anyone I have ever met. I HIGHLY recommend Dechter & Moy Dentistry!!! I went in for a very sensitive tooth at my old dentist and expected an evaluation for a possible cavity. My old dentist could not determine whether a filling was needed based on X-Rays they took, and required me to undergo a debridement (deep cleaning) before they could diagnose or treat my tooth. The debridement was presented as "necessary" for diagnosing the cavity, which I later learned is not true or standard practice. After paying for the debridement and then the filling with my old dentist, my tooth remained very sensitive. As a result, I sought a second opinion with Dechter & Moy Dentistry. After they examined my tooth, they found, explained and showed me how the sealing of the filling/bonding done by my old dentist was improperly done. They re-did it correctly, and provided photographic evidence showing the poor workmanship done by my old dentist. I HIGHLY recommend Dechter & Moy Dentistry for your dental needs!!! I have been going to Dr. Dechter for over 20 years. He has always provided excellent, caring dental care to me and my family over the years. Dr. Moy is a wonderful addition to the team. Their work is of the highest quality! They really have a friendly and caring team. Whenever I have had any kind of procedure, someone from the staff follows up the next day to make sure that I am all right. Years ago it was a phone call. Now it is an email or text. Of course they will call you if you don't use email! Another thing that is special about Dr. Dechter & Dr. Moy is that they have Saturday hours for those people who work full time and have trouble getting time off during the week. This is by far the best dentist office I've been to. I originally came to for a dental emergency and I was treated like family and special from the time I arrived to the time I left. I have been back on numerous occasions for cleanings and have to have work done and I always got five stars treatment every time. Once I enter the office I'm greeted with smiles from the receiptionst . I always look forward to my 6 month cleanings going to get my teeth cleaned by Florence she is awesome and very professional. She is a great asset to the team. I enjoy my conversations with her and her professional opinion for caring for my teeth. My dentist for over 25 years retired more than a year ago, and I've been reluctant about finding a replacement. My experience today made me an instant fan of this practice. From my first interaction with the staff in setting up my appointment, I knew I had come to the right place. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I was even given a fun little welcome package as a new patient. The office is not your usual cookie-cutter set-up in an impersonal medical building. It is a cozy space in the basement of a home in a residential neighborhood. The dental hygienist Florence is amazing. Very thorough and personable. And for no additional fee, you can have a French lesson while sitting in the chair:-) My experience with Dr. Moy was equally pleasant. Dr. Moy and the office staff are wonderful! I know my family and I are in great hands when we go- whether it be for a routine cleaning or emergency visit. They have ample time slots that make it convenient for busy families to schedule a time that best suits their needs as well as a very friendly group of dental professionals who truly care about your dental health. My second cleaning with this dental office and I couldn't be happier. I couldn't go in December when it was 6 months after my first appointment as I was pretty much couldn't make it in. I had hip replacement surgery in January and they understood the consequences and asked if I took my antibiotics before I had one instrument in my mouth. They are professional. Kimba did my cleaning today and just like my first one, one of the gentlest hygienist I have ever known. Dr. Moy was ever the professional and was gentle in my mouth. I will be needing a cap replacement one of these years and he isn't pushing as it doesn't bother me and I am not excited about getting a new cap, said we will just look at how it is doing at the next cleaning. It had been almost 20 years since I last visited a dentist, and was a bit apprehensive about my first first visit to say the least (now several years ago). Dr. Dechter was excellent at easing my concerns, and great with the numerous cavities I needed filled. I also appreciated Dr Dechter's conservative approach to my treatment options. Dr. Dechter continues to takes his time, listen, and stay well informed (and equipped) with the latest facts and technology which I really value. I have not visited Dr. Moy, but I have spoken to one of his patients (a former co-worker of mine), and she had nothing but good things to say about her experiences with him. I actually enjoy going to the dentist with this practice. Aside from outstanding dentists and hygienists, this is the most efficiently run doctor's office I have ever experienced. It is clear Dr. Dechter and Dr. Moy and dental hygienists stay current with dentistry best practices. And they are genuinely interested in how you are doing and what is going on in your life. We began using Dr. Dechter over 25 years ago and still come to this practice even though we moved out of the area and it's quite a drive. We tried other dentists in our area but returned to this practice because of how great it is. This was my first time visiting the dentist after quite some time (ahem 2+ years) and I was a little nervous to say the least. In my experience dentists and hygienists have a tendency to be somewhat judgmental ("why aren't you flossing 5 times a day?!?!") and it tends to make you feel like you're going in for a flogging. However my experience was very pleasant. The front desk staff were friendly and informative, the practice used what appeared to be the latest in x-Ray technology, and Dr. Dechter was super nice and didn't give me a hard time about my dental avoidance. I was in an out with no wait time and even got a nice little gift bag. I would definitely recommend this dental practice and will certainly be returning in 6 months (I promise!). read more

Being a college kid whose family is moving to a new area, a lot is changing, including where I get my dental care. On break, I only get a few days' window after I've recovered from both jetlag and a food coma for dental care. It's important that I find a new dentist I can trust, and that I find one fast. After a few false starts with other dentists in the area, I found Dechter & Moy to be exactly what I was looking for: their office was clean (and COVID-safe), the staff were friendly, and their fish was surprisingly entertaining. After having my cavity filled, I can vouch for their quality dental work too! I went in for my 6 month cleaning yesterday and I had a great visit. The front desk ladies are so kind and helpful. My hygienist, Afsoun, is the ultimate professional. She cleaned my teeth thoroughly, reminded me to floss more regularly, and polished my teeth with fluoride. My teeth have never been so clean. She also made my next appointment for me while I was in the dentist chair. Dr. Dechter came in and checked out my teeth and then Afsoun gave me a goodie bag with a toothbrush and toothpaste. Both Afsoun and Dr. Dechter were on-time, super friendly and provided excellent service. I enjoyed my visit to dentist (you don't hear that often) and am looking forward to my next visit in 6 months! After moving to this new location, our family searched carefully to find best dentist in our area, finally Dr. Dechter and Moy on the top of our list. My husband and son went to first and came back with happy face, then my daughter came back from college for the winter break, and she went the office by her self, she usually complains about dental cleaning, but not this time! I made visit finally, the staffs were very friendly. Most important, they didn't let me wait, like what I had experienced in other dentistry. The exam and clean were very thorough and professional. I want to start by disclosing this - I have really bad teeth. Sadly for me that means I've seen plenty of dentists. My insurance dropped my last two so I found my way to Dr. Dechter and Dr. Moy. All of my past dentists have asked if I grind my teeth at night. It wasn't until I found this practice that I learned my bite is actually off which is why I am having so many other problems with my teeth. I can now finally get it fixed. I found this practice because I simply won't do that gooey biting thing for crowns. They have the technology that means I never have to do that again. My husband and I have been going to Dr. Dechter for nearly 25 years now and can't recommend him (and his colleague, Dr. Matthew Moy) highly enough. Yesterday, I had a crown, manufactured on the premises by Dr. Dechter's computer (so everything was done in one visit), had a small cavity filled, and had bonding applied to the roots of my front teeth. Everything was done in two hours with a gentle touch -- Dr. Dechter is very patient with nervous patients like myself. He also gives you an estimate beforehand, so you know what everything is going to cost. Everyone in the office -- hygienists, assistants, receptionists -- is very nice and friendly.
