Visited Dr. Oh and his assistant, Shelley, last Thursday. This was the first of two visits to replace a crown. Shelley introduced herself as this was our first time meeting. She informed me prior to the actual work as to what would take place. The information was good and helped in keeping me in a calm state. When Dr. Oh entered, I was ready and relaxed. From my point of view, I think the actual removal of the old crown and replacing it with the temporary crown went smoothly, Dr. Oh took the time to show me what the old crown looked like and the fact that a part of the remaining tooth had to be removed because a cavity had developed. I was very pleased with the work and had minor pain afterwards. Many thank thanks to Dr, Oh and Shelley for your exceptional work. The new receptionist / billing admin, Geovanna, is great. Also very happy with Dr. Oh and dental assistant Shelly (and others I have met there). They are pleasant, patient, and professional; take the time to answer questions and explain. Overall, very good. The only thing not good is that they do not participate in any insurance, so they are treated as Out-of-Network which means my insurance pays a smaller %age of the costs. (I don't know if this is recent or was always the case. For some reason, I had known this earlier; just found out about this at my recent visit.) read more

I would give a shout out to Dr.OH that fixed my sensitive tooth. I had dental work at another dentist nearby. she said that I had cavity, need to be fix. I was like yeah whatever. she fixed it, but my tooth has not been the same. It was very sensitive whenever I chew, it hurts. I went back to that dentist, she said everything is okay. she adjust it, but it still hurt for days.. My husband went to Dr.OH a week before and he likes this doctor. so, he recommend CLopper Mills. I went to see him, and has to redo the whole filing. I was like "do it, better than suffering". Dr.Oh FIXED my tooth. I never felt discomfort again and back to normal when I chew. I am so thankful for him. from now on, I will go to him for anything, and never go back to that old dentist again. I have this feeling that the other dentist just made up my cavity. I went in for a yearly dental cleaning and was seen by Dr. Spivak and his hygeinist, however I came out of there with an estimate of thousands of dollars worth of dental work from extractions, implants etc.. Mind you my sister is a dentist but works/lives in san diego, and after asking her opinion and she reviewed my dental xrays, she said "they are trying to make a quick buck by doing dental work that is unneccessary."It's the equivalent of taking your relatively well-running car to a mechanic for an oil and filter change and then having an estimate of a few thousand dollars atleast, to have half the components of the engine replaced. Hence, I reccomond that you not go to clopper's mill dental if you value your money because in my opinion they are unethical. read more

Dr. Oh is very knowledgeable and patient. It helps to understand when he explains on visual xray what is going on, periodontal and hygienic wise; he's very patient. Brooke, on the other hand is condescending and I felt as if I were getting a lecture advising me I didn't brush at night [every night]. She is also a little rough with the cleaning [had deep cleaning before and I will not do it again with her]. Christina is very nice as receptionist but I also don't appreciate my bill having to be discussed during the procedure - I realize they want the money upfront-I always pay at the end-most Drs. submit the claim and then you pay out of pocket what is owed. New to our Met Life Dental care plan we selected Clopper's Mill Dental Care because of its convenient location. As we later learned the practice is owned by a Dr. Adams and Dr. Norkiewicz . The attending dentists at the time, Dr. Spievak and Dr. Oh, were very attentive and attempted to provide the best possible care. The hygienists and assistants were also very professional and courteous. Our dental needs as a family where probably slightly above normal. After multiple procedures which included cleaning, periodontal scaling, planning and crown work we collectively exhausted our allotted insurance coverage for the year. I personally had crown work done which required no less than three visits and two temporary's to get the fit to Dr. Spievak's satisfaction and prior to his resigning from this office. In spite of the effort problems persisted which ultimately involved Dr. Oh making an outside referral with a endodontic firm because he or this office is not certified to offer endodontic coverage under Met Life insurance. A long story shortened my concern, reasons and basis for this subpar review is the method in which the owners and administrative staff at this office handled my account and insurance claims process. There were many documented errors in accounting and a lack of accountability on the part of ownership to insure that the issues were addressed in a prompt and courteous fashion. In this regard I feel the "Mill" portion of this offices name fits the bill. A word of caution. Make sure you attempt to communicate and clearly understand what your insurance covers and how much before you move forward with any type of care at this location. Also double check which doctor is under your plan's coverage as I was instructed to do, as it is my responsibility. Do not accept what is posted online as accurate. An oversight in this regard could lead to confusion and extra costs to the patient. MAKE SURE to check your invoice carefully. This learning under fire experience also reminds me of how important it was for me to stay in touch with my own small business' administrators in order to insure it's successful efforts to address client's needs. read more

Previously I would have rated this office a 6 out of 5, however, after my experience today, I will no longer be going to this office. Dr. Oh is amazing and I wish I could continue to see him and the rest of his dental staff, the front office, however, I am no longer pleased with. The office changed their hours and could no longer accommodate my work schedule (they used to have evening hours). After receiving countless texts from the front office (I'll leave her name out of it) I finally decided to take a bit of time off of work in the morning to adjust to the new schedule because of how great Dr. Oh is. I unfortunately had to cancel my appointment this morning for an emergency. I messaged the front office person at 6:45 am because I figured messaging at 3 am when I received this fire alarm call at a property I manage would have been incredibly rude. She 'waived' the cancellation fee since it was an emergency but then proceeded to lecture me via text: 'There is no way we can fill this appointment with so little time...I'm waiving the broken apt fee for you this time because you say it's an emergency but for the future if possible please book appts on a day work can't interfere especially with these coveted 8am time slots. Thank you for understanding.' I'm wondering, especially since I've spent so much money with this office in the small amount of time I've been here that I am made to feel bad by their staff for something out of my control. Gee, thanks for waiving the fee, and 'coveted'... Really? Because I 'say it's an emergency'? What, you don't believe me? Do I need a note from my boss? Obviously it is ultimately my responsibility to keep my appointments, I just thought the response could have simply been: we will wave the apt fee this time considering the emergency, let's try to schedule something in the near future. After reading through all of the texts I've had with her since August. I've stated to her several times that this new schedule doesn't work for me and I was initially very polite about it and though it disappointed me, I would find another office. Then I was offered 8 am appointments over and over again, finally I just took it and adjusted my work schedule. I can't do anything about an emergency though, that's life. Since I only have to see the dentist for a cleaning every 6 months, I'll find someone else. read more

Dr. O and the dental hygienists are excellent. However, we will not be returning, because one of the front desk staff was quite rude to my whole family during a misunderstanding. It's unfortunate, because we were going there for years. But, if you want a good dental team, I would recommend them. I've been going here for a couple years now and have always had a good experience. All the staff is really nice, from the front desk to the hygienists to Dr. Oh. They are always on time with my appointments. I have noticed they are extremely thorough with their work here; they don't just give you a standard teeth-cleaning, they actually do a full examination of your jaw, gums, tongue, etc. every time. I found that odd the first few times I went, like, "What in the heck is she doing??" but now I'm used to it and it's probably better to be a little overly conscientious than not conscientious enough. As far as what the other reviewer said about them trying to sell a lot of unnecessary dental work, I will say that I DID notice this the first time that I went, years ago and I did not like it either. But, as the person who responded to that reviewer noted, I do think the practice must have changed since then, because I don't get that anymore when I go. It's pretty much just your standard dentist appointment now, minus any sort of sales-pitchiness that was there before. The hours are great too, because they have evening appointments. So, overall, it's a good place. I mean, it's the dentist, not a day at the beach, but take it for what it's worth. You really can't ask for a better experience than you'd get here. read more

Dr. Oh and his staff are amazing! They are incredibly detailed and thorough. Dr. Oh and his staff definitely know what they are doing. At most dental offices and doctor visits, you have to wait an incredible amount of time even if you are there on time for your appointment. There is nothing like that at this office. Plus it's so close to my work that I love being able to go in and out for my appointment. They treat you like family as well, which makes it that much more comfortable. They squeezed me in because I had some pain when I ate; I was afraid it was an infection. They are not my regular dentist, but they still got me in because my dentist is closed for a long weekend. Turns out it wasn't a cavity or infection; my dentist hadn't adjusted my crown properly and it just needed whittling. What a relief! Not only that, but their front office was on the phone trying to track down my insurance the whole time I was in back getting adjusted! AMAZING service, and all with a smile! For almost 3 years now, I have been coming to Cloppers Mill Dental Care for my dental needs. I absolutely love Dr. Oh and his entire staff. Not only are they incredibly professional, but they also go out of their way to get to know you. They are very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and understanding. In the past, I reviewed them after my 6 month dental check up (which was 5 stars- Brooke is FANTASTIC!). This time, however, I am reviewing them solely on how they handled my cavities. To start, I have had bad experiences in the past with having my teeth drilled for cavities. My previous dentist would either not give the local anesthetic enough time to "kick in" or wouldn't give me the sufficient amount to prevent pain during the drilling. I found out later that my mouth actually is very hard to numb up (for reasons unknown). Regardless of the reason, it has caused me a lot of anxiety ever since when it came time to take care of another cavity. Today was my first experience of having a cavity dealt with at Cloppers Mill Dental and I will tell you this..... it was Night vs. Day compared to my past experiences. Shelly was the tech who first escorted me into the room to get prepped. I explained to her my concerns (including my anxiety about the procedure) and she immediately assured me that this experience would be different. She was beyond helpful and understanding! She kept me talking (helping me calm my nerves) and personally explained the issue to Dr. Oh about my past experiences. Now on to the procedure itself.... Dr. Oh was incredible! He took note that in my past it was very hard to numb me, so he decided to use a different local anesthetic (a stronger one). To combat my nerves about the needles, he actually was nice enough to also rub a topical anesthetic on my gums prior to injecting the local. I literally did not feel the needle at all! That is a first... not even joking. Again, he addressed my concerns about not having enough time to have the local kick in. He did this by allowing me 10-15 minutes to talk with the Tech (who again, is amazing) thus allowing my mouth to become FULLY numb. Funny though, he administered the local anesthetic so well that it literally only numbed my top left side of my mouth. It was incredible really, especially since in the past my dentist would end up making my entire face numb for about 5 hours after the procedure. As for the drilling, do not feel a thing at all. This was the most satisfying thing of all honestly. After having so many cavities in the past that led to painful drilling, it was refreshing to finally have confidence that the procedure could be totally painless. If you were on the fence about choosing this place for your dentistry needs, I implore you to really look at these reviews. Cloppers Mill Dental is truly amazing. They are phenomenal with cleanings and totally blew my expectations away for the more in-depth dentistry work. Even when I eventually move farther away, I plan on making the drive back to this place. They really are THAT good. Worth your time, money, and trust. read more
