Deck of Flavors is one of our favorite spots to grab a fresh baked s'mores cookie, and if you're lucky, you can grab one fresh and hot right out of the oven. This welcoming cozy spot offers self-serve frozen yogurt with many different topping (my crew hand just found their way through), drinks, both hot and cold, and cookies. The staff is nice and the facility is always clean. There is plenty of seating inside, and there are tables for the warmer months. Basically another place to get serve your own ice cream. Deck Of Flavors is in Winthrop Harbor, and has those machines you pull a lever to squeeze ice cream into a bowl on your own. It also has a crap load of toppings. Even though it may be kind of expensive, the stuff tastes pretty good. There's also non dairy sorbets. A lot of ice cream places have this business model. If you've been to one, you already know what to expect for the most part. This is where a customer gets a bowl and fills it with ice cream from one of the machines, and then puts on toppings. It's about 70 cents per ounce. You get it weighed after putting in toppings. Be careful. This can add up pretty fast. A few selections are non dairy. The last time they had berry and mango. Good stuff for getting cool. It has coffee if looking for something hot. The ice cream flavors change but there's always a few sorbets as well as tons of toppings. read more

Decided to go here for a small family outing for my nephews birthday on Sunday evening and I cannot express how disgusted I am with this place and management. The manager came to our take to tell us that my nephew needs to stop being loud, after explaining he is autistic, the manager proceeded to say he as other customers and we can leave. Pathetic how uneducated people are and the amount of careless words that were used. He told us we should "put a sign on him" and this is not a daycare. The fact innocent children get treated like this is mind-blowing and I truly hope karma does it's job. The owner needs to truly pay attention to who they have running their business. Please do not support this behavior. Horrible experience and I truly do not wish this on any other child. read more

Excellent cappuccino. I don't know about anything else they serve, and I don't know why a coffee shop would name themselves after frozen yogurt. I've never understood the attraction of frozen yogurt. Not far from here is the land of frozen custard, so much better. But the coffee here is the butterfly's boots. read more

This was our first visit to this great little place tucked in next to the Winthrop Harbor post office and around the corner from Harbor Fitness 24/7. There are lots of great frozen yogurt flavors as well as an abundance of fresh fruit, nut and candy toppings. My kids were having a hard time choosing because of so many tempting options. Hi Everyone! Today I had been out for a drive and wanted to stop in try the new Boba Tea's and had come to find out that it was closed so I decided to go run my errands and try again a little later. After I was done running around I decided to call and see if the business was open and I was happy to find out that this lovely location near my house was open and made me very excited. Once I got to the location I went inside to order a few drinks on my way home and I had kindly said to the young man I met working behind the counter that I had drove by and seen the place was closed and was very sad since I enjoy Deck Of Flavors immensely and was thrilled to hear they have new Boba Tea which he then explained to me that the person who was supposed to come into work didn't show up for their shift and he found out very late in the day after someone contacted him to let him know and ask why they were closed when the website said open when the lights were off and the doors were locked. Also he said to me sweetly said that he was so incredibly sorry that they weren't open when I came by and was very happy that I decided to call and make sure they were and to actually stop in during my busy day considering they were closed by accident earlier in the day as well as he apologized to new customers coming in after me. Not only was he extremely kind and respectful as he took my order but made me feel very wanted and comfortable being there and made sure he was very prompt in the timing of making my drinks when just after I had ordered thirteen other customers walked in and ordered just after he had begun to make my drink orders since he was the only one working today while also trying to cover the rest of his responsibilities of the shop and to take care of every customer in a timely and fashionable manner behind me and their orders too. Not only was he running across the floor to fill orders, he kept up with a positive and upbeat attitude and conversation with each of us while filling orders and it made me feel very patient and kept me wanting to stay there until my orders were taken care of. Before I walked out I made sure I could wish him a good day and in hopes he stayed busy and that to keep doing an absolutely fantastic job despite the circumstances of an employee not showing up of which he had to cover for and had no notice of the person filling his or her shift which kept him on his toes with everything going on. I want to commend him on a phenomenal and fantastic job well done, and to let him know how much I appreciated the way he handled himself, the business, and all the customers including myself. I will definitely be back in the near future to not only to try more Boba Tea but to also grab some delicious Froyo too! Thank you for my delicious drinks and making our town proud!
