1 star is too generous! I wish I had read the reviews before hiring Deck pro. We wanted our deck redone - just old wood replaced, nothing else. Frank is a smooth talker! Beware! He showed up and quoted new decking and handrails and a maximum of 2 days for the project. The crew of 2, showed up the following Monday. They replaced our 48" pickets with 42" pickets and had the nerve to ask why we were complaining! The deck was 6" shorter, unfinished and unleveled and it looked awful! When we asked for it to be corrected, they (Frank and Phil), didn't want to do it. They fought us and complained about how much money they were losing on us, but finally agreed to fix it. Frank told us his crew doesn't like to work on payday Friday so we'd have to wait until Monday! A whole week later we heard nothing, no call, no text, no show! I had to cancel my credit card because they kept charging it! Save yourself the trouble and find another option! They're not worth it. read more

Frank came out to quote me on a screened in patio; said he'd send the quote but didn't say when. I initially got the impression by his style of departure that he wasn't interested in the job. A week later, they contacted me to see how the visit went which got my hopes up & since then I've incessantly gone back & forth with their admin person who has sent me the incorrect job quote TWICE now in TWO WEEKS. They continue to get my project mixed up with some other person's. I told her that they're clearly having some organizational issues to which she made an excuse about how many ppl Frank sees in a week's time....get a planner? I was going to write this earlier in the year but COVID-19 is what happens when you are making other plans. My wife and I bought our house almost 4 years ago. Our inspector told us the deck just needed re-decking an d metal flashing.....WRONG! We had somone else come out and was basically told not to even trust it with our cat (no concrete footings, no flashing and had not been staied in multiple years leaving large rotting holes in the deck). We finally got around to asking for estimates and even went on line and to the big box stores to ask. Those that responded either did not show up or were practicing their price gouging skills citing a lumber shortage. I then heard from a friend and he simply said "Deck Pros, without a question" Frank came out, gave me some great ideas and an even better quote for the job. Now yes, I've read the reviews and I've seen the good and the bad both. No one is perfect but the characher of a company does not show when all is going well but when something goes amiss; whether big or small. I have to admit that I had a couple of concerns and when presented to Frank and his company, it was handled quickly and effieciantly. I now have to say the only time I am not on our new deck is if there is a threat of lightning. We had it enlarged and a pergola added and it it like a whole other room for us. We love to entertain and it has now become the "place to hang out" when friends come over. Prior to the new deck, we wouldn't trust the cat out there. Now, you could build V-8 engines out there. Deck Pros does not have builders or contractors, they employee Craftsmen. We literally cannnot get enough of it and the "we" includes the cat. He loves it so much he has learned how to paw at the door to go out (becoming a bit annoying now). So, to Frank and his crew and all at Deck Pros, thank you for a job well done. The attached pictures just don't do it justice. My wife and I both work in healthcare and are both on the front lines. This has become our sanctuary after being in the trenches all day. This is where we go to relax and start breathing again. Take a look, give Deck Pros a call and be prepared to be thrilled with the results. Made a appointment. Took off work and did not show up for my estimate. Called him two hrs later and claims he knocked on door and walked around the building which was a total lie I was home the whole time. Then said this is not a job he wanted to take on and hung up on me. Very unprofessional do not hire these people read more

I was told this was a three week project and it took 6 to complete. Not because of weather or anything that simple. Only because 90% of the time there was only one man working on it. They told me several times I needed to be home for house access ( for electrical etc.). I rearranged my work schedule to be home and no-one showed. My husband stayed home to meet workers and they never showed. Communication was awful and in the end I had to fight to get everything done correctly (removing stain overspray from my house, pool deck, etc). While running electric they drilled through my bathroom ceiling and then Frank told me that wasn't their responsibility! What? I gave them three stars because my deck and screen room are beautiful. But that thanks goes to Rick who built the majority of it alone. read more

Do NOT use this company!!!! They did our deck and the work was....less than crappy. They left trash in the yard and left the work unfinished. 4 months later the owner came to "rectify " the problem (and to get the remaining balance) and they did the work but a week later the door didn't work...their answer, an ugly metal rod going across my door. Was satisfied with the initial product. Wesley assured me when the time was right they would do a color check and paint the deck for $100.00. Found out this wasn't true, when I made attempts to have screws replaced that were coming out and paint the porch, my calls were ignored. Please go with your first mind, especially when the BBB review gives them an F. Will take more care with the selection of my enclosed room. Hopes this helps someone else avoid the issues that were right in front of me. Had to pay someone else to rectify the work, and stain the deck. read more

The construction was good. However, they try to steal from you at the end. We talked about the stairs more then once, the sample drawing showed stairs and every deck on their web site has stairs. At the end they tried to close off the deck without stairs. They tried to charge extra and Frank yelled at my wife and told her she was going to hell. Completely untrustworthy. He pays his employees cash meaning he's off the books. Don't use this company. read more

I had a pergola attached to my existing deck. Eddie & crew did an excellent job! I love that it was painted before they put it together so that all sides have a good coat of paint. I'd recommend Deck Pro to anyone who needs a pergola. read more

A year ago, when they finished my deck except for staining, I would have given them 4 stars. 1 year later, after MANY MANY calls and emails, I am STILL waiting on a final stain and reimbursement for shingles we bought. Oh, they will come out on time to give you a quote, just don't expect that service once your payment clears... we are in the process of filing at small claims court. read more

Here is an update on Deck Pro: The wood on the deck is starting to buckle. It will cost $$ thousands to repair.

I had set a appointment for Wed 1/3/18, Received a call on the 1/2/18 at 8:45 am requesting a change for that day ,,,We agreed on 11:am for Tues 1/2/18 ,,,,The owner was coming out. When 11:25 and had no one arrive i called and was told that they set appointments 11-12 ,,no mention of that on the first call.I explained that i would find someone else,and she tried keeping the first appointment which i refused.I stated it was indicative of what type of company i was getting. The owner called trying to save the appointment which i tried explaining why i did not want them out he just kept talking over me,not LISTENING to what i had to say. Finally He got attitude and said forget it. So my first impression was spot on,Do not ever hire a company that can not keep there appointments,Its a big sign of whats to come EXCUSES EXCUSES EXCUSES. read more

These guys appeared to have a good portfolio, but be careful. We hired them to build a 11 foot square gazebo. Price was reasonable, but they farmed it out to one of their several crews. Posts were undersized 4 x 4's for the job, and only connection to footing were nails to brackets with one bolt in concrete. Just prior to finishing, with roof complete, it collapsed as temporary supports were removed. One worker was injured, thankfully not too serious, as it could have been very bad. Company very slow to respond, considering this event. Also, crews careless about storage of materials and tools, causing some damage to adjacent sod. 10-day job took in excess of 6 weeks... Finally sent a new crew to completely remove damaged gazebo and rebuild it, and final job acceptable. Just not very professional guys to work with. Would not recommend. read more

The owner, Frank Fort Sr., seems like a nice guy when you first meet him, but once you hand him the final check you wont see or hear from him again. He made numerous false promises to finish my deck and has not followed through. Deck Pro is a dishonest company that exhibits inferior craftsmanship, and abominable customer service. We had so many problems following the installation of our deck. The spindles came off in no time, because they were nailed and not screwed in. Some of the boards were badly, badly cracked as well. The gate fell apart within a couple weeks. The owner did not care to return my calls or fix the problems, and they ONLY came out to fix the problems after I wrote a bad review and filed a formal complaint on another website. read more
