She's a Story City native and a UNI grad, and she fully supports and recommends some nearby shops. I especially loved her greeting cards, candles, charcuterie boards, and cookbooks. The shop is in its fifth year and is thriving. I appreciated the fair pricing and overall quality of the products. We will add Des Moines Mercantile to our stops on future visits to Des Moines.

When you open the door, you meet a perfectly delightful and friendly shop owner. There is a wonderful variety of merchandise that would please a diverse array of shoppers....jewelry, clothing, kitchen items, large assortment of beautiful French tablecloths, home decor and much more. I bought two great necklaces made from Tagua seeds from Ecuador. I just love them and have received many compliments when I wear them. They are so attractive and unique. I also purchased a gorgeous rectangular French tablecloth in blues and yellows and some cute kitchen towels. In my shopping I also acquired a stylish top with a lacy edge and a fishnet type top to go with it. The shopkeeper also has many artistic wind chimes for your patio. Mine has a metallic dragonfly and colorful beads. If you can't make it to her shop, she also has a stall at the awesome Des Moines Farmers Market every Saturday for 6 months of the year. That's another thing that you should definitely experience! What a great little shop, full of such interesting things! Wish it was in my city!

Apparently, this displeased the cashier because for my buttons, which were clearly marked 2.99 each, she charged me $9.98 for the buttons. A naughty tax because I wasn't painting the correct thing? For a "Christian" store, you do not behave Christ like in any way. Jesus accepted all the weirdos: lepers, prostitutes, the weak and marginalized. I should not be overcharged because my project is "unacceptable." I will never walk into another of your stores again.

World Market carries a TON of chai mixes and teas that come to much less than $7 a drink. Lol While the store is fun to browser the online site is user friendly and often offers 15% off for an in store pick up order...which is exactly what I did last night. I purchased three different varieties of David Rio chai mixes and some gummy peach rings with tajin, chiles, and limon. I placed the order online at about 200 PM and it was pulled and ready by 430 PM. Your mileage may vary. On arriving at the store I headed up to a register and let the employee know I was there to pick up an online order. It was pulled and brought to me quickly. The staff is friendly and parking is easy. And there are a great group of adjacent businesses and restaurants nearby if you are in the mood to shop a little more... World Market is a great place to just kill some time. Especially for a foodie! I work just a few blocks away so it's nice and convenient. The online system make it so easy! Almost too easy...

This is really Terri's frame shop; she's there working everyday. Her work on my 4 different sized…read moreitems was astounding; hard to believe they were the same pieces I had brought in. As I was overwhelmed and intrigued by the hundreds (1000+?) of frame options, she and I worked together for about 20 minutes to find a few different, simple yet stylish frames which at the time I thought would work out "OK," but in retrospect turned out fantastic. Her pricing was fair; she even commented that "framing is expensive." But for the quality and beauty that she was able to bring to these pieces, it's absolutely worth it; no regrets. She also was very generous when the total came out to be more than I expected, offering to split the cost into as many payments as necessary after an initial down payment. I'm thinking 40%, but not sure. This is my first experience going to a real frame shop, and I'm so glad that I chose Terri's!
