Serving up Allpress Coffee ($3.50 for small, $4 for large) and a small range of food to take away. Grab a freshly baked muffin, cake, muesli or GF brownie (these are huge) for something sweet or they have a range of stuffed flatbread sandwiches and salads. From memory, prices range between $7-15 for the savoury options. The salads looked fresh and the sandwich options sounded delicious. I just had a coffee and got my standard long black with a dash of milk. It was really good - strong with no hint of bitterness. Another great takeaway coffee option in the city and their signage was meant to arrive this week, which hopefully helps them as it's hard to find.

You guys. I had my first flatbread from Baby Jak today, and i fear this is the beginning of the end…read morefor my self control. This little hole in the wall cafe is the sister of Spring Hill's Jak and Hill, which I'm yet to visit but will have to make a trip to. Today I ordered a flat combo of sorts- flat white and the roast vegetable flat bread, which contains pumpkin, feta, mushrooms and rocket. Toasted to perfection, loved every bite and sip, can't wait to go back.

With COVID 19 social distancing they have had to make changes and it is takeaways only - normal hours and menu changed. Sad!!! The walk to the Cafe and via park across road is simple - so getting a coffee is still very worth it. It's a great cafe - everything is still good just restricted under social distancing. After an early morning Monday visit to Jacaranda Coffee Lane, I decided to hop on over to Scout,…read moreanother very highly rated breakfast spot in town, for a point of comparison. While Scout was good, it didn't quite compare with Jacaranda. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Even early on a Monday morning Scout was packed, and as I waited maybe fifteen minutes for a table I couldn't help but just be almost overcome with jealousy at the fact that it's so commonplace for so many Aussies to have the ability to just take a leisurely Monday morning breakfast. Anyway, I digress - I was promptly seated after a short wait and from there everyone was wonderful. The food did take a hot minute or fifteen to come out, but it was clear that's because my breakfast sandwich was made to order. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $15.00 AUD got me a pretty good sized Brekky Bagel, and while it was pretty basic, this was still good value. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? This was a good, although as I mentioned relatively basic breakfast bagel sandwich. I wished that the bagel itself had been toasted, and while from there the ingredients were good, the whole thing was just a bit more basic than I had thought it would be. Single Star. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? I didn't for a second dislike my trip to Scout, but there are simply so many great breakfast spots in Brissy that I can't get as excited about Scout as I can for others. No Star.
