We hired Deconstruction works to partially dismantle a warehouse building we bought. The went far above the level we expected. They were adaptable, responsive, and always pleasant. Because we were about 2 doors down from the worksite we were around a lot. I have to say everyone on the crew was a pleasure to be around. Because this level of project is new to us I think I was pretty anxious a lot of the time but Erich was always helpful and easy to get along with. I feel very lucky to have been able to hire them. The idea that the materials are being reused, the savings over straight demolition and the potential tax savings are really the icing on the cake to what was a great experience overall. Deconstruction Works also did some side work not originally contracted such as cleaning up the place. The work was done at a very fair rate and the project was finished ahead of schedule and on budget. This may sound weird but I will actually miss the Deconstruction Works crew. So fast, so professional, so good at what they do, and enjoyable to be around, oh yeah, and they saved us money too. read more

Erich and team at Deconstruction Works were fantastic to work with on our deconstruction project. Their expertise was evident througout the process. Everything was dismantled with the care a 150 year old house deserved. It makes me feel great to know that the old timbers and slate would all be reused instead of landfilled. Erich was very responsive and punctual, and did quality work. He reclaimed a great deal of lumber for us from an antique barn that was falling down, and saved it from being wasted. Now we can reuse that wood in another project. He arrived on time, texted us photos throughout the process, and left a clean site, with the reclaimed wood in a neat pile. Everyone else who bid on the project wanted to burn the wood or haul it to the dump. Deconstruction Works has an arrangement where you can save wood from old structures and donate it to a nonprofit for a tax credit (which is a great idea, very win-win). We liked this model as we weren't sure how much of the wood we would re-use, and it was good to know that little would go to waste. His price was a little higher than the competition, but we more than made up for this in the value of the lumber salvaged, and the service was excellent. read more

Erich and Kestrel saved the day. We were in the process of relocating our one-room schoolhouse onto a new foundation, and the entire project hinged on the deconstruction of an abutting woodshed. Within hours, Deconstruction Works carefully disassembled, labeled, and sorted all of the lumber for future use. We were beyond grateful, and the cost was incredibly reasonable. Eric is responsive, honest, and goes above and beyond. I cannot recommend him and Deconstruction Works enough. It's only a small exaggeration to say that Eric finished dismantling our early 19th century chimney before his competitors even called us back (it was a two day project). He finished ahead of time and under budget, managed to preserve a majority of the material for reuse, and found a company that could salvage material for us that we would have otherwise thrown away. Erich bid on taking down an out building on my property. His bid was a little higher than simply getting the trash haulers to come in and smash and haul away. But Erich provided access to the appraisal service so that I could donate full value of the materials and take as a charitable deduction. Ultimately this will cost me less than simply having it hauled away and I can have the satisfaction of not cluttering our land fills. Erich and his crew did a great job on the demolition, worked on time, and left the site clean. And ultimately a very small portion of the building was not reusable. Thank you Erich and crew.
