The first time I went to Decorus I was 12 years old and my mum was taking me to get my ears pierced. I remember feeling all grown up and posh because Decorus was a fancy place and all my friends had gotten their ears pierced by some teenager in the corner of a Claire's Accessories store amongst the novelty hair bands. The lady who pierced my ears was very nice to me and I don't remember feeling intimidated or looked down upon despite the fact that I was this young pup in a classy grownups beauticians.
I have to admit that I have only been back to Decorus a handful of times since then. I am not a regular at beauty salons because I am mostly too lazy to be that high maintenance! I often find that on the rare occasions that I do go to a beauty salon the beautician is usually some horrendous looking Jordan wannabe with too much make-up, Wicked Witch of the West fake nails and inhumanly orange skin and I think, if you can't make yourself look good then why am I trusting you with my own appearance?
However when I am going on holiday and need a little wax here are a pedicure there I do go to Decorus because the beauticians are immaculate rather than false looking. You do have to pay more than you would at other salons but I think it is worth it. Decorus reminds me of what beauty salons use to be about. You are made to feel relaxed and papered rather than shoved into a tiny little room where you are roughly handled by some idiotic looking Barbie doll as can be the case in a lot of salons! I would recommend visiting Decorus as a nice treat to make yourself look and feel your best before a special event; however it is probably too pricey to make it your regular go to salon. read more
