After seeing so many great reviews and recommendations for Buddha Bellies, we booked the birth and postpartum doula services and honestly couldn't be happier. You get a pair of birth doulas to ensure one is available for when you give birth. Both were knowledgeable, friendly, and super supportive throughout my pregnancy. After an initial zoom call to get to know each other, we had a group text chat to check in and answer any questions I might have. They also suggested things to bring to the hospital, like an essential oil diffuser that really helped me and the nurses loved. My on-call doula on the day my son was born was Susan, and she was a lifesaver!! She arrived at the hospital promptly (despite living an hour away) and helped keep my husband and I calm. My husband had to leave for an hour to bring our dog to his boarding location, and so I was so grateful I had Susan with me during that time. I tried to give birth without an epidural, and her magical massages literally saved me and brought me to 6cm dilated. At that time, I decided I definitely did want/need an epidural, and she was very supportive of my wishes. She honestly felt like she became family that day and was so dedicated to my comfort. I can't imagine having done this without her. We're now onto the postpartum doula phase, and while we just started with our overnight care, we are SO glad that we made the decision to have a postpartum doula (kind of like a night nurse in this scenario). So far, it has been absolutely wonderful--the doula is very caring and loving to my baby boy and gives me a few extra hours of sleep each night, which is invaluable. As newbie parents, she offers advice and reassurance that things (like infant gas!) are normal. We are able to sleep soundly knowing that our son is safe with her in the other room! The Buddha Bellies support staff have also been excellent. It was very easy to be matched with and interview doulas--we hired ours on the very first try, as they were all of amazing quality, friendly, and with great experience/reviews. Then I received a bill for $464.25 for my labs through the same office. I mailed the full payment. After wasting a bunch of time to find out why I keep getting a bill for $16.50, the gal in the billing office said this is because I should have been charged $105.50 which is $16.50 more than what I paid. I have asked every way I know how to get a bill saying that my office visit should have been $150.50 and all I get is talk about how they won't send me any explanation from the insurance company that now I owe a higher office visit fee. My insurance says the $89 was correct. It's not worth wasting more time, I'm paying the $16.50 but be advised the billing office really doesn't act like they care to help the patient. I'll be looking for a new Ob/Gyn since fortunately, I only need the Gyn. and only need to see them once a year. Good luck to you having babies that have to deal with the billing office.

I was in labor for 12+ hours, couldn't eat sleep or drink, I kept moving from a hot shower to a hot bath tub (all natural birth, helped with pain). My body really started giving out, I thought I was going to die, but I have faith in God so persevered. They gave me an iv bag of fluid, which felt like a breath of fresh air. Eventually my baby boy was born, and healthy. I would give birth here again because the support was amazing. I really wanted to be left alone the entire time. But they were right in reach when needed.

They did NOT address my concerns and did NOT notate them in my medical records. They also kept telling me my baby was perfectly healthy and "medically unremarkable". They COMPLETELY missed major congential brain malformations forcing me to full term with a child who was dying the entire time in my womb and during birth. They did not offer an ambulance to Johns Hopkins when my son was dying. They also did not catch enlarged fatty liver or preeclampsia because they do not use the proper tests. They also yanked my placenta instead of allowing it out naturally which ended up in retained placenta. If you are 35 or older I do NOT recommend this place. I gave birth in January and they wanted to know "what they did wrong and could do better" .... im sorry YOU are supposed to be the medical professionals. So no, i dont recommend them and would not trust them with any medical care. They are certified PROFESSIONAL midwives which are COMPLETELY different than certified NURSE midwives. They didnt even have care when I had whooping cough and broke ribs, instead I had to go to urgent care and ER to get properly diagnosed. ​​​
