TL;DR: I paid $74 for a 75 min "Extended Service" for a blow-dry with waves and received a 35 min…read morebasic blow-dry. Probably best to try somewhere else. ......... Really need a blow dry spot and was excited to try this one out. Booked a "Blow Out with Extended Time" because I have long hair and wanted a blow dry plus a couple waves. For reference, the regular "Blow Out" is $59 for 45 mins and the "Blow Out with Extended Time" is $74 for 1 hr 15 mins. I got there at 5:15pm. The air is actually hazy from all the hairspray in the air. I have never seen that in a salon before - may be wise to invest in a better air circulation solution? I was told to take a seat but the small couch was full of people waiting. I was taken for my wash at 5:30pm, 15 minutes into my appointment time. The wash was okay, no massage. But the crazy part was that the "Extended Time" 75 min blow dry that started at 5:30pm was over at 6:05pm. It was okay for a regular blow dry (which explains the 2 stars) but there were no waves, no additional anything. I could tell she was in a rush and was hoping to make up time during my appointment. After the rapid blow dry, my stylist pretended by adding 2 curlers to my hair and then I watched as she walked over and chatted with another stylist. They peeked back at me and smirked at each other like they were pulling a fast one before she returned, removed the curlers and said "All done". Tip - maybe don't assume other people are fools just because you are.

I booked a last-minute blowout online for a wedding at the listed price of $59. The booking…read moreconfirmation stated that the service duration would be 45 minutes, and the description clearly noted: "If your hair requires 60+ minutes, book one of our Blow Out with Extended Time options." This language implies that while 45 minutes is the standard estimate, the appointment may reasonably run longer--so long as it does not exceed one hour--without requiring an extended-time booking. Upon arrival, there was a noticeable and heavy smell of hairspray throughout the salon. The concentration was strong enough that it created a visible haze near the entrance and immediately triggered sneezing. Although my appointment began later than scheduled, this was not an issue for me. My stylist, Victor, was professional and courteous. He worked efficiently and completed my blowout in approximately 50 minutes, which he confirmed at the end of the service. I have very long hair, and he did a solid job styling it. At checkout, however, the manager stated that because my hair is long, I should be charged for an extended-time service and mentioned that it had been noted on my account. This was not communicated to me upon arriving or during the appointment, and I have not encountered this policy at other locations. Since the service was completed in under 60 minutes, this contradicted the website's description, which specifies extended time only for services requiring 60+ minutes. After some discussion, I was ultimately told the charge would be treated as an "exception" and that management would review the website language. I was also informed that a note would be added to my file, and my receipt reflected a service time of 1 hour and 10 minutes, which did not align with the actual duration confirmed by my stylist. When pricing policies are applied inconsistently and documentation does not reflect the actual service provided, it raises concerns about transparency. Clear, accurate communication and billing practices are essential to avoid the appearance of discretionary or opportunistic uncharges.

I truly wish I could leave a better review, but my experience at this location yesterday morning…read morewas extremely disappointing...especially because I booked an up-do appointment ahead of a huge milestone: the grand opening of my art studio. I wanted to look and feel my best, and unfortunately that didn't happen here. I arrived on time, had sent my inspiration photos to the salon ahead of time (as advised), and came prepared with very clear reference images for a simple, messy mid-height bun with volume and some hair framing my eyes. I have fine hair and know it needs teasing and hairspray (I even do a simple version of this style myself) so nothing I asked for was unrealistic. My stylist, Deana, seemed distant and unfriendly from the moment the appointment started. I even had to ask her name five minutes in. The energy felt off from the beginning. About halfway through I turned my chair around to get a look, and my heart dropped. The front looked flat, unflattering, and nothing like the inspiration photos. When I politely and gently tried to give feedback, she was very cold and passive-aggressive. Even the client and stylist next to us picked up on the tension. She told me she "couldn't do" what I asked for, which was confusing because it was a very standard up-do. The appointment was booked for an hour, yet she rushed through it in about 30 minutes and immediately moved on to her next client. It felt incredibly rushed and uncomfortable. When I went to check out, the lovely stylist at the front saw I was upset, took one look at my inspiration photos, and honestly told me that my hair needed a lot more teasing and shouldn't have been done that way. She kindly sat me down and tried to fix it, but unfortunately there wasn't enough time because I had to get to my makeup appointment. Despite the rushed service and the visibly poor result, my stylist offered me only $5 off of the $90 price...and then asked how much I wanted to tip. Given the situation, that felt extremely inappropriate and uncomfortable. The bun itself was cute from the back, but the front looked flat, unfinished, and already had pins falling out. Even I (not a professional) could tell the lack of teasing and hairspray made it impossible for the style to hold or have enough volume. Thankfully, when I arrived at Charlotte Tilbury for my makeup appointment, the team there immediately noticed and felt terrible for me. One of their artists who used to be a professional hairstylist graciously redid my entire up-do from scratch for free, and made me look absolutely beautiful for my big day!!! They said that what I was asking for as inspiration was indeed possible and straight forward to achieve. I'm so grateful for them! It's a shame because the other stylists at Blo Blow Dry Bar seemed friendly and were creating gorgeous styles on their clients. But my own experience was rushed, unprofessional, and shockingly uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.
