I truly wish I could leave a better review, but my experience at this location yesterday morning was extremely disappointing...especially because I booked an up-do appointment ahead of a huge milestone: the grand opening of my art studio. I wanted to look and feel my best, and unfortunately that didn't happen here. I arrived on time, had sent my inspiration photos to the salon ahead of time (as advised), and came prepared with very clear reference images for a simple, messy mid-height bun with volume and some hair framing my eyes. I have fine hair and know it needs teasing and hairspray (I even do a simple version of this style myself) so nothing I asked for was unrealistic. My stylist, Deana, seemed distant and unfriendly from the moment the appointment started. I even had to ask her name five minutes in. The energy felt off from the beginning. About halfway through I turned my chair around to get a look, and my heart dropped. The front looked flat, unflattering, and nothing like the inspiration photos. When I politely and gently tried to give feedback, she was very cold and passive-aggressive. Even the client and stylist next to us picked up on the tension. She told me she "couldn't do" what I asked for, which was confusing because it was a very standard up-do. The appointment was booked for an hour, yet she rushed through it in about 30 minutes and immediately moved on to her next client. It felt incredibly rushed and uncomfortable. When I went to check out, the lovely stylist at the front saw I was upset, took one look at my inspiration photos, and honestly told me that my hair needed a lot more teasing and shouldn't have been done that way. She kindly sat me down and tried to fix it, but unfortunately there wasn't enough time because I had to get to my makeup appointment. Despite the rushed service and the visibly poor result, my stylist offered me only $5 off of the $90 price...and then asked how much I wanted to tip. Given the situation, that felt extremely inappropriate and uncomfortable. The bun itself was cute from the back, but the front looked flat, unfinished, and already had pins falling out. Even I (not a professional) could tell the lack of teasing and hairspray made it impossible for the style to hold or have enough volume. Thankfully, when I arrived at Charlotte Tilbury for my makeup appointment, the team there immediately noticed and felt terrible for me. One of their artists who used to be a professional hairstylist graciously redid my entire up-do from scratch for free, and made me look absolutely beautiful for my big day!!! They said that what I was asking for as inspiration was indeed possible and straight forward to achieve. I'm so grateful for them! It's a shame because the other stylists at Blo Blow Dry Bar seemed friendly and were creating gorgeous styles on their clients. But my own experience was rushed, unprofessional, and shockingly uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. read more

Honestly one of the worst locations. I am so happy I don't live close to this one because I will never be coming back. I signed up for a membership at the coconut creek location. They were nice and friendly and I was running late and they were able to accommodate me. No mention of a supposed fee. As they were lovely and I liked my blow out, I signed up for the membership that's 2 blowouts a month. I decided today to go aventura as I'm heading to the mall for shopping. I call to move my appointment by 15-30 minutes and THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $25. Not even at a hair salon do they do this. When I did this same thing at the coconut creek location did they mention a fee. Had I known there was a fee, I wouldn't have booked the appointment. I would walked in. I spoke to the manager and she was ADAMANT about charging me. I guess the $25 goes directly to her paycheck. Honestly terrible experience Also- I thought the girl who did my blowout did a good job but of course at closer inspection, my hair is way at the root. I know I have thin hair but she spent a short time on my hair. The place was small, dirty, and HOT. I don't get why the AC wasn't blasting at a place where hot tools are being used. As I was checking out, I said I was a member and I should be fine and THEY STILL CHARGED ME. the incompetence of this place is wild. This location needs to shut down. read more

There's one stylist here that I really like--she's fantastic. However, the front desk experience has been consistently disappointing. The last two times I called to book specifically with her, I was scheduled with someone else instead. Whoever is handling the phones is clearly not equipped for the job. Most recently, I arrived for my appointment expecting to be seen by my usual stylist, only to be told she was busy and could take me in an hour and a half. No apology for the mixup, nothing. I let the front desk know I wasn't willing to wait that long when I had a confirmed appointment, so I was reassigned to another stylist. But while I was getting my hair blown out, the stylist I originally booked with was not with another client the entire time. Absolutely unacceptable. On another visit, I made it clear that my very curly hair requires hot tools to avoid frizz. The stylist ignored this and didn't use any, resulting in my hair frizzing up the moment I stepped outside. I had to redo it at home. After multiple frustrating experiences, I canceled my membership. At this price point, I'd rather use a service like GlamSquad--they come to your home and actually listen. read more

The receptionist was RUDE to my wife because she was one minute over the appointment grace period; when she explained it was beuacse of their overcrowded parking lot, she was told that they couldn't take he for her appointment. It was extremely embarrasing to my wife and for that reason, we would never, never use them again. read more

Giving 2 stars because BLO Aventura USED to be fantastic!! I used to love BLO Aventura, and came here often over the last 5 years when Juliette was there (she was fantastic). My last time in was Saturday 3/2 and I hadn't been in a year, because I had a new baby at home. I scheduled my appointment at 1pm, and even got there about 8 mins early just in case they were finishing up early and I could be done early, if not no big deal. It was my husband's 40th surprise birthday party later that day, and I had a ton of things to finish up. I waited patiently while everyone who come in after me got taken before me. At 1:10pm I asked the front desk woman how much longer it would be, because I needed to pick up my dog from the groomer and was on a tight schedule. She responded to me, without even apologizing for the wait, that she thought I was scheduled at 1:15pm. No, I was scheduled at 1pm and I showed her the screen shot because she already had a rude tone with me. She responded "I don't know why I have you in at 1:15pm then". Well, lady, I don't know either, but my appointment is at 1pm. She said she would check to see how much longer it would be and came back and said 5 mins. They didn't take me until 1:20pm which means I had been sitting and waiting for almost 30 mins and 20 mins after my scheduled appointment. No apology, no offer to discount the service, absolutely nothing. Not even the stylist apologized. I had my hair washed and blow dried and left because I had no time for anything else at this point. What I think happened was they got a walk in and decided to take her and just let me wait knowing my appointment was at 1pm. When she went to the stylist she didn't say "oh, her appointment was at 1 and she's been waiting". She said how much longer do you think you'll be?". Customers saw I was annoyed as they had already been sitting getting their services for 20 mins while I was still waiting. Completely unacceptable BLO. Your front desk needs to respect other people's time and be overall more friendly. Unfortunately, because of this, I probably won't be back, even though I still have remaining balance on a gift card.. A little empathy for your mess up could have gone a long way here. read more

Could not say one bad thing about this place! The owner Eric was fantastic and even offered me a refill on my white wine. Maria, my stylist took her time to create a beautiful red carpet type blowout. Did I mention that I was a few minutes late since I thought the place was in the mall? I'm from California and I love Blo there and I love Blo here too. I'm in town for a conference and the hotel shuttle dropped me off very far from where this place was located. A nice taxi driver came to my rescue and brought me here. The salon peeps were happy to accommodate me and very kind throughout. Thank heavens for good franchises and for blowout bars. They truly save the day. Eric even offered me a small discount when I mentioned that I visit the Blo in La Mesa, California frequently. What a nice guy! I love the service here. Particularly In Aventura. They know me by name, I feel safe and relaxed with the measures being taken since quarantine reopening. I love getting my hair washed, imagine relaxing and having a clean head.. makes me feel like a million bucks. Actually- wrong. The security video footage has no audio. As that's illegal- so I know you're lying. Or- I can report your business to the state of Florida if otherwise. If you want to take her side over mine that's fine: but my review was ACCURATE. That's why you guys get so many reviews about her professionalism and then you always gaslight customers into thinking they're wrong. No you are wrong. Your employee is wrong and your employees don't want to work and take clients with ample time. Not only did we go to Drybar and we're done in less than an hour they had no issue taking us 30 minutes prior to closing. In the video you see how clearly over dramatic she's acting simply because she didn't want to take me to begin with. No one would've ever been "harassed" which I in fact didn't harass anyone by saying f it I won't do my hair. She is dramatic an attention seeker and a liar- You'll see truth always comes to light with people like that and yourself working for this business it'll continue to suffer won't last long goodluck. Owner will find out the hard way. None the less you lost a client over an 8 minute discrepancy who would've otherwise been a regular. Guess you guys don't want to make money and rather rush home than accommodate paying customers. Very weird behavior from any salon especially a blow dry lounge. You can report me to "the police" all you want they'll simply laugh and throw the case out do you really think I did anything wrong by saying F it I won't do my hair....... Enjoy. Too many rules and stipulations. The front desk folks I have never been impressed with as far as customer service. I recently had the pleasure of grumbling over the course of two days, with an employee back-and-forth over a no-show charge. I made an appointment through the app, when I went to cancel my appointment it was no longer there. I assumed I had already cancelled. Ok cool. But apparently the app was not accurate, I was then charged for the missed appointment. I've been coming here for about four years, and I always feel like the Front Desk peeps are clearly not happy to be there. I would expect more. The Brickell location I never had an issue, but as standard at BLO the stylist are amazing, I've always been happy with their work. The cancellation policy is a little strict but this has been the trend in the industry over the last few years. Thats OK. Which I have a pretty good record of canceling appointments and rescheduling, life happens. But based upon my cancellation history, I was no longer welcome back. Not a no-show history, but a cancellation and rescheduling history. So moral of the story if you want to stay in their good graces, don't reschedule, don't cancel! That's OK. Happy to go elsewhere. I scheduled for a blow out and iron work. I only waited for about 2 minutes. Anthony did my hair and the result has been my absolute favorite of the many blow outs I've gotten. I really recommend this location, and particularly Anthony. I'm about 30 minutes from the Aventura location but am willing to come here more regularly because I was so satisfied with the result! read more

I am in North Miami about once a month and was dreading having to find a good place for my blowouts when I'm here. I have very long, thick blonde hair that is normally very frustrating if someone is not used to working with my type of hair. I called to see if there is anyone who is good with my kind of hair (especially on a Monday, when oftentimes salons have newer or more junior stylists because it's a slow day). The receptionist was very sweet and ensured me she would match me with someone who would be great with my hair. Cynthia was an absolute pro - so attentive and detailed about everything, every step of the way from shampoo (she was totally nice about my request to mix blonde shampoo with regular) through whole process. I never once had to look up from working on my phone to make sure everything was okay. She made me feel comfortable and confident that she could do my hair with my eyes closed. Sooooo thankful I have someone great to see here in Miami. And yes the rest of the reviews are true - the staff genuinely thinks the owner is fantastic :-). I did a lot of volume hiring for another well known quick service hair chain and this was so refreshing to hear (and definitely the reason this is a popular location). Will definitely book in advance with Cynthia when I'm back in a few weeks. read more

I have been a Blo customer for more than 8 years. Have a membership and always used several locations around Miami . Mainly Brickell and midtown prior to it closing . I never ever complained about anything. Everyone that has helped were always sweet and accommodating. Also great styling ! I went to this location last month and had a great service and blow dry . I moved from Brickell to Bal Harbour so I was happy to come here . I even bought a new wow dream coat and left at this location ...I saw when they marked my name because I lend the front desk lady the sharpie . Unfortunately today was horrible . First the front desk lady could not find my dream coat ....did not offer any option on helping ...why would i say I have one .... Then she " took me to my stylist " who was on her phone . Had wireless earphones on her , she ended her call while she was was putting a towel around my neck . She did not say hi , nor introduced herself and just said : how you want your hair ? . She asked to sit and as she started to wash my hair she asked : why you are late ? You should have called , I have other customers ...I was 8 mns late and the FD lady did call me I said I was parking ...I straightened my back and the stylist said "come here " I did not feel confortable at all ...she was rude to me and showed no gratitude to a customer . I am so sorry but she needs customer service training ASAP . As a result I have cancelled my membership and please refund my dream coat . I have come here a few times after they did such an amazing job my first time coming here. I wanted to give a shout out again for being proactive in getting me in on a Saturday, weekend before Halloween with no appointment at the perfect time. I called around 1 pm to see if they had any openings on 10/28, and as I expected they were booked solid, however, it was a rainy day and there was a tropical storm that I found out later. But I digress, they had asked me to call back to check but I requested they call me instead, if there was a cancellation. I wasn't expecting that to happen but was very happy when they called me back to let me know a 6:45 pm had opened up! I used to go to So Blo and I am very happy with the professionalism on all levels from Blo Blow. I'm sure they will see me again. Excellent blow out and pin up. Came out amazing. read more

Great experience. Had Johanna, from Colombia do my wash & blow dry and she was great! I wanted curls for an event I would attend the following evening. She did everything asked, smiled the entire time and was a total sweetheart. I used to go to SoBlo and was disappointed it closed down. This salon provides amazing service: their blowouts are great, the products they use on your hair are great and smell delicious, they offer you coffee or Champaign with your blowout which something rare in the aventura area. They have recently started offering makeup services which I got once and was really happy with my results. The reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because the front desk staff is horrendously rude. I always arrive on time and generally have to wait about 5-10 minutes for my appointment. I never make a big fuss because it's miami and everyone's late but I've never so much received an apology for this. Also, I was late once and they called me TWO minutes after my appointment time to tell me that if I didn't get there within one minute they would have to cancel my appointment and charge me a late cancel fee. When I told her I didn't think this was fair given that I was on my way and I go there regularly she simply replied: well you could also not come Adriana. Great way to treat a customer who goes there on a weekly basis and tips well!! Blowouts and makeup are top notch, front desk staff needs to learn a thing or two about customer service. read more

Fantastic job with my hair and the extensions! My biggest gripe is that I paid for makeup services, but the eyeshadow they use is terrible and had barely any pigmentation, so it doesn't matter how long they spent on my eyes, the end result was mediocre and disappointing because of the quality of the makeup. read more

Through my local searches, I was excited to find a place that is open after office hours. However, I was quickly disappointed that the hours of operations they state on website AND at the door, are not true. I tried two times, both closed before 6pm; and when called nobody answers the phone. They don't even have a professional answering greeting = no phone answering system at all. This place lost me as a weekly consistent client even before trying their services. I'm surprised that being a franchise they're even allowed to do something like it. Don't bother.
