What an AWESOME place. My fiancee and I have now postponed our wedding 3x as a result of Covid-19. However, we thought we'd at least do something special for the original day we were to get married. We decided to get all dressed up and go out for a fancy dinner. SO I thought, why not get my hair done. I showed the hair stylist my picture of the dress I planned to wear and she immediately came up with a hair style that would be perfect for this dress. She took care to do soft beautiful curls that framed my face. They stayed intact throughout the night and into the next day, without using any weighted hair spray (she did use a spray but it was light and didn't make my hair EVER feel cakey which is the usual outcome for me with hair spray). Not to mention, she was so incredibly sweet the entire time and very very safe. I was VERY impressed with the hair to the point I even bought a curling iron for myself the next day to attempt to recreate the look, but I definitely know for any professional event, I'll be coming back!! read more

In town for a wedding, my cousin found this blow dry bar as it was not far from where we were staying... She booked two appointments (for herself and her mom) and I booked three appointments (for myself, my mom and my sister). We've all had plenty of blowout experiences and to be honest, this was one of the worst. The place itself was fine, but the staff was not friendly. They ran late and were not super communicative. We didn't get a look book until we asked for one and then when we did, the blowouts were far from what we requested. There was one bathroom in the place and as others have shared, it was not the cleanest either. If you're desperate for a blowout, it's fine, but I definitely would not rush back. read more

Worst hair experience in my life, asksed for a blowout, did not give me anything like I want, WHICH i showed them a photo of. Asked for a natural, simple blowout and they gave me an awful ratsnest NOTHING like i asked for. Yanked my hair until CHUNKS came out, and left knots in my hair. I called her and asked for directions and she was very helpful. As soon as I got to the salon it was stunning and very nicely decorated and super clean. After two bad experiences at a competitor blow dry spot I thought I'd try this place for an upcoming photo shoot. I asked for a curled look w body/ volume and the stylist ok no problem. I have hair down to my bra strap. I was in the chair less than 25 minutes. No product used. No volume. Curls fell out in less than 10 minutes (literally when I got to my car I looked at y reflection and it looked like I had let my hair air dry). Horrible. I got home and literally took a shower to redo my hair myself. Biggest waste of money ever. The girl was very sweet very nice but I didn't come in for a good conversation. I won't return. read more

So I was utterly "blown" away with my experience here and it was truly love at first sight.The blowdry bar is hip and trendy with touches of pink, glam and chic all bubbled into one location. I immediately noticed and very much appreciated their insanely good marketing. They creatively use terms that make you giggle to yourself like when they referred to my blowdry as "taming my tresses" or even when they assured me that booking a blo did not mean I was cheating on my hairdresser- it was just wash, blo and goooo- scissors are verboten- (german for forbidden) From the minute Lenny took over my hair, I knew she was the real thing. Listen don't go anywhere else in Miami for a Blow Dry this place is amazing in every single way. The location is very convenient it's located right in Brickell. There is street parking or a parking garage located right next to it. The whole staff is so helpful and so nice. I always get lucky if I end up getting an appointment with Jess. I decided to trust the professionals to help me for my recent engagement pics and the combo of Blo Blow Dry Bar in Brickell for hair and Face Brow and Beauty Bar next door for makeup, was all too perfect. I easily scheduled my appointment online and they were ready right when I got there. For $40, you can pick from one of seven styles in their books. My stylist listened to what I wanted and instantly knew which style would fit the bill, but she did check with me beforehand anyways. After a great hair washing followed by quick and efficient styling, I was in and out in almost thirty minutes. My style lasted through the night and most importantly, came out great in pictures! The attention, amazing! The girls were super welcoming and we talked a lot but with no pressure: we just clicked! The owner of this salon, Nidia, is extremely unprofessional and a liar who will try to steal your money. I cancelled an appt hours before my scheduled time and spoke to an employee. As per the cancellation policy, for appointments cancelled within 24 hours the $25 cancellation fee per service booked will apply. I was charged for a full service and I had a membership. When I called to inquire the employee I spoke to me told me Nidia said she spoke to ME almost 30 mins after my appt. This is completely false as I had to cancel because my grandfather was involved in an accident and I was by his bedside. I've never met or spoken to the owner. I called several times, leaving messages for her to return my call, and she never did. The employee apologized repeatedly stating she could not refund me and it was out of her control. When she relayed the message, Nidia never answered or responded to the emails I sent to corporate who copied her in them. Horrible customer service and disgusting level of unprofessionalism. Being that it is privately owned by this Nidia person, I will never return to this establishment. HIGHLY recommend taking your money elsewhere to avoid being scammed and overpriced. Coral Gables location is ran differently and they actually provide higher level of customer service. read more

This is such a late review because I have only been there once for my birthday because my usual location (Midtown) had no last minute openings and I needed an appointment. Better late than never. I was dropped off so I can't say anything regarding parking to get here but there is a garage walking distance from this Blo location. I cannot remember my hairdresser's name but she was INCREDIBLE! I took my own extensions and what she did to my hair was magic. I have curly hair but I wanted big, long, bold waves in my hair and that is exactly what she gave me in about 40-45 minutes. Blos are $35 and include a wash and style from their style menu. There are lots of looks to choose from, and they're skilled in doing some awesome updos and braids. Her appointment was at 4:30 PM, By the time she arrived home her hair was completely down and super frizzy. Super unhappy with the stylist and her work. I was in town for a wedding and last minute me and 3 of my girlfriends decided it would be fun to go to Blo since it was close to our hotel instead of all doing our hair ourselves. We were able to very easily get appointments online. Blo sent emails to each of us confirming the appointments which was much appreciated. We showed up 10 minutes prior to our appointments and checked in at the front desk. I explained that I made the reservation and these were my 3 friends. We all sat down and at the time of our appointment each of my friends were called back pretty timely. I got called back last and 10 minutes late. This bothered me. As the person who made the reservation under my name and checked in, you would think they would take me back first. I was very turned off that I was taken last and late. We were all going for the same type of look. VERY voluminous and big dramatic hair. Not one of our styles came out like this. They were all very blah. I had told my girl that my hair gets very flat and I needed volume on the top. She proceeded to dry my hair tight to my head and did not lift my roots once. Needless to say there was negative height or volume in my style. Once my girl finished my blow dry and curls I had asked her not to brush them out because I still needed to walk back to the hotel and didn't want them to fall. I highly suggest doing this. All of my friends who had their stylist brush their curls out a little ended up falling really quickly. Needless to say I don't think this place is awesome. I made a reservation for myself and a friend a week in advance for 7pm. We showed up at 7 and they could only take one of us. I had to wait til 7:30 for someone to start working on my hair. They didn't even have water or champagne or wine to offer while I waited. Once I did get my hair done it looked like an amateur did it and I had to redo it when I got back to the hotel room. I also missed my dinner reservation bc they were a half hour late. They discounted me $10 at the end but come on, for a half hour it should've been more than that. They said it was because some girl ahead of me had "unexpectedly long hair" but she looked like she had average length hair so it's just poor planning on their part. They were apologetic but that doesn't make up for missing my dinner res. What was supposed to be relaxing on a vacation ended up ruining the night. Do not recommend. *edit* read their response! I asked for an appointment, and over the phone I explained that my hair is curly and I would like to make sure the hairdresser is capable to manage my hair properly. This was not the case - I had to teach her what to do. Meanwhile I was the only client in the salon, while the crew of hairdressers were having deep conversation talking negatively about people and clients, without any shame. I am not very vocal about beauty services (if I do not like them) so keep that in mind throughout this review, as had I actually said that I was unhappy I'm sure this situation could have been fixed. I made a last minute appointment at Blo in early April on my Birthday. That night I planned to go out with some friends for dinner and to get a table at a club in South Beach. I arrived and immediately was seated and taken care of. I am really in tune with my beauty services/self as I am the definition of a "girly-girl", and I could instantly tell by the way that she was washing my hair that she didn't really thoroughly wash it (but how do you tell someone that?). If your sole business is washing and styling hair, then one must assume that they can do a pretty darn good job at that. I was let down. My hair wasn't thoroughly washed properly (I have a lot of hair and it requires a LOT of shampoo/cond). Nor was it styled right either. When she was styling my hair, she like curled individual pieces of my hair and let those sit. My hair REALLY curls. I already knew that when she took those bad boys out that I was going to look crazy, and ding ding ding, I was right. The pictures are deceiving. How can you show someone pictures of a SKETCH of wavy flowy hair "holly would" and then deliver a serious amount of actual CURLS (non-flowy). I was soo unahppy with the results and very irritated. She even asked if they were okay and I said that I wanted them more tame...she fixed it and STILL it didn't look right. There was almost nothing that she could do by then. My hair should have just been blow dried with one single brush to get that look. No curls should have been added to my hair. It was a very awkward styling and I was even thinking of washing it out and re-doing it later in the evening. I just think that the photos were deceiving and the people that they have working there are not hair stylists that cut hair so what knowledge they have about hair, I'm not quite sure. I would rather pay $5 extra to go to a regular salon and have my hair styled by people who can take one single brush and get that "holly-would" look correctly. read more

Before you read this review take note: I didn't actually get my hair done at Blo. I bought a Gilt City voucher for one blow dry at Blo. I was excited since I first bought it back in February. Thanks to a complicated work schedule and not having an event worth having my hair done for, I waited until the last minute to redeem my voucher. I felt lucky that I was able to make a very last minute appointment the same day my voucher expired and the day I actually had a huge event to go to. (I would like to add that it was a fashion event that called for fabulous hair). Driving down from my Broward habitat I thought an hour was suffice to get me to my 2:00 appointment on time. Wrong. The traffic at only 1:15 pm was the worst I've ever seen. When I saw that it was 1:45 and I still wasn't anywhere near Brickell, I called the salon to let them know I would be arriving 15 minutes late. The receptionist was very firm on the rule that I only had until 2:15 to keep my appointment. Okay. Breathe. I will make it. Wrong again. There was only one lane open on South Miami Ave. due to construction. I called the salon again and told them I wouldn't make it on time and the only thing she could tell me before she would check my name on the naughty list was that I wouldn't have time to have a "Red Carpet" blow. It took me 30 min to get to the salon from South Miami Ave. I got there at 2:40. I know that I was pushing my luck, but I showed up any way hoping they would still take me. Wrong again. The receptionist had a condescending attitude and said "I told you 2:15." Okay, I got it, damn it. I'm late! She said the only thing she could do was put me on a cancelation list for a 5:00 appointment , but I couldn't take it because I had an event at 5:30. When she saw that I was flustered she offered me a business card to call them the next time "I'm in town". I'm from Broward, lady, not Connecticut! Don't get me wrong. I do understand that I was late and that they couldn't squeeze me into one of their 3 empty chairs. The thing that really upset me was the receptionists snark and lack of interest in trying to gain my business in the future. I guess that's what I get for purchasing a voucher from a deal site. They already had my money. They didn't care less to make me at least a little happy. And for the record, I went to my event with the frizziest hair I've ever had. I had to buy a hair bow that cost me $18 to make up for my crappy hair. Waste of gas. Waste of money. Waste of energy. Never again. read more

I visited Blo on Saturday for the first time. I scheduled my appointment for 5:30 and wasn't sent back to the shampoo bowl until about 5:50 almost 6:00. The receptionist was very nice and offered me a water or reading material while I waited and apologized that the stylist was running a little behind with the client ahead of me. Overall, my hair came out good but nothing out of this world. A few things I would focus more on are 1. They should spend more time at the shampoo bowl and make sure to condition your hair really well. While my hair was getting blown out my bangs were extremely dry/crunchy and made it complicated for the brush to smoothly blow out my hair. I was at the shampoo bowl for probably a minute on the dot and felt like I was only shampooed. 2. Also instead of having a look book of cartoon characters they should focus more on real clients and possibly before/after look book of what each style looks like. 3. I feel that because of the amount of volume of clients they see a day, it's almost a little "factory" like and is a little rushed. If the stylist blow dried smaller sections and curled smaller pieces I feel the end product would be much nicer. Overall the Blo salon in Brickell, even though small is very cute, stylish and comfortable. Definitely a place for the Girl on the Go and it's always nicer having one thing less thing to do when planning a night out. read more

I had bad experience today and I am really shook. I called me and i asked to do small curls to my hair and they told me 60$. And they charged me 75$ because the style not in the book but why they didn't tell me before????? And I told her why ? You told me 60$ She said this is what we have now like she mean pay ok.. Even the curls look so weird and most of opened because the stylist didn't put hair spray. I used to go to them every event but with this service I won't go anymore.
