Jarred very quickly appraised my car and after a short stressless conversation we agreed on a price. Even though it may be necessary, giving up one's car for ever is not an an easy decision to make and it took me a couple of weeks after my visit to make a return visit to Gurtons. The earlier appraisal for my car still remained and the deal was completed in short order. I was told that I couldn't get an alignment as I needed new outer tie rods. I was given a quote for $622.98 and asked if I wanted to make an appointment. Funny thing was I had one outer tie rod replaced 6 days earlier on July 9, 2026 at Gurtons Garage. I went back to Gurtons on July 20, 2026 and had the new and old outer tie rods inspected and was told there was no play in the left side and the right side was as new. I provided the relevant invoices to the store manager with the information above, but he brushed me off, saying he called for two new tie rods as "One having play in it and the other one not being far behind". I was lucky, but I hope this helps others in our community from getting ripped off at Sidney Fountain Tire. It's sad to think there are businesses in our community trying to take advantage of people like that.

They told him it was "unfixable" and unsafe to be on the hoist and had him sign paperwork indicating it would be scrapped. Not long after, my dad saw that same truck driving on the road with one of their employees. When I asked around, I was told an employee had purchased it for next to nothing and was trying to sell it--while bragging about the deal. Watching the disappointment on my dad's face was heartbreaking. If this company tells you your vehicle can't be fixed, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion. From what we experienced, it felt dishonest and like they were taking advantage of a senior's work truck--especially frustrating because they were recommended to us by a family friend. I explained what was going to the mechanic on the phone to which I was told we need to look at it, then give you a quote. When I arrived at the garage I opened the hood went into the office reception and asked the Mechanic desk person to come so I can show him what was wrong. The guy then saw the drip drip drip from the regulator and said yes I can see it. I left the vehicle and got a call 40 minutes later quoting me approx.$500 Which I felt was quite steep considering I found a regulator for $90, and I opted to not go ahead. upon picking the car up I was invoiced $40 for THE MECHANIC LOOKING AT THE ISSUE THAT I HAD ALREADY POINTED OUT. NO INVESTIGATION NECESSARY!! The invoice confirmed my statement - the fuel pressure regulator had to be changed. So I paid $40 dollars for nothing. Just another grab and go garage. Don't bother
