    Sour Slush

Friendly crew! Typically have a food truck on the weekends - keep an eye out for the food truck rodeo on weekends ends. Regularly check the website for events. Beers get released seasonally - non alcoholic options available as well so everyone can enjoy. Right now my favorite easy drink is the Sour Slush - and the high potency Collaboration.

Deep River is conveniently located in downtown Clayton. It has a really laidback atmosphere, welcoming staff, and is dog friendly. You can check out their website for fun events like musical bingo, and they often have food trucks onsite. Bonus - they have sour beer options and cute merchandise.

Cute local brewery! I bought a 4 pack of the juicy rapids hazy IPA (solid) along with some merchandise. There was plenty of product available to purchase and also lots of great beers on tap. There was a food truck outside as well.... Atmosphere was relaxing, good music and good vibes! Would definitely return.

Great brewery in downtown Clayton. Small bar area with a large open sitting area off to the left. Tons of outside seating on the patio. Food trucks and music on weekends. I'm not a huge fan of their core beers, but they're limited release and taproom exclusives are outstanding. There is a wide variety of core beers, and they are good, but not great compared to their other stuff. Collaboration Without Representation is one of the best beers I've ever had (and that's saying a lot coming from a guy that has 8000 unique beers checked in on Untappd). Staff is friendly and very helpful. I definitely recommend this place to any craft beer drinker!

Excellent brewery in Clayton. I had heard of Deep River before, but hadn't made the trip over to it in Clayton until now. I was looking for a yoga class and saw that Victory Power Yoga was leading an hour class at Deep River for $10 which included a pint of beer. What a great deal. I arrived and easily found parking beside the brewery. The yoga class was indoors by the stack of cans. The doors are left open or closed depending on the weather and noise level. The picnic tables and chairs are moved to the walls temporarily to make room on the floor for yoga. Bring your own mat. After the class, we went to the bar for the included pint. I tried a couple of options: schwarzy, 4042 chocolate stout, ginger snapped, and watermelon lager. I would have selected any of them. They had great flavor and tasted as I hoped. I decided on the schwarzy black lager. It was heavy, sharp, and had a great flavor. The employees were all friendly and efficient. Plus they play excellent music at an appropriate volume. While there I learned that Deep River brewery was the first legal brewery in Johnston County. Bathrooms are available inside. As you walk to the restrooms you can take a peek into the brewery. Check out their website for events and food truck schedule...or stop by to try their brews. I had a positive experience here and recommend this brewery to others!

I probably blew out my keto diet for the week here but the beer was good and the company was good and I really enjoyed spending a couple of hours catching up with my Clayton-based friend here at Deep River. A little noisy inside as it's really quite industrial but converted into a beer tasting room. Several tables, some comfortable tables and a bar. And a dozen or so beers, some permanent fixtures and some are rotating. I had only two because I had to drive later. The Twisted River Wit was excellent and the Cottontown Lager was better. Just good and well-crafted beer. They have some seating outside but it seemed to be well swarmed by flies who were drawn to the sweet, sweet smell of food truck. Once the breeze picked up, the flies moved along. None of them inside. [Review 11822 overall, 1604 of 2019.]

Great selection of beers on tap. Nice patio, in addition to indoor seating. They offer tastings before purchase. Food trucks often available.

I thought I was back in WNY at this spot! Rochester on the walls and Buffalo food truck outside, we felt right at home! Great beer. Great space. Good for groups and dog friendly. Large field for games and a big parking lot. Give it a try!

Pre-COVID. We came here when I used to live in Clayton. The first time happened to be for their Easter egg hunt. They had a great outdoor seating area. I really liked their lemon shandy, I think that's what it was. It was like a lemonade beer. The event was a bit unorganized, couldn't hear what was going on. It was still fun. I recommend this place. Hopefully they won't be effected by COVID-19.

The service is always fun and i enjoy the open atmosphere. This Belgian-inspired brasserie continues to be one of my go-to destinations for great food, craft beer, and one of the best Painkillers in town. My must-order dish is always the crispy beer-battered pollock paired with their perfectly seasoned truffle fries. The fish is light, flaky, and fried to golden perfection, but the real star might be their housemade tartar sauce--it's absolutely addictive. A few other standouts from our table included: Savory risotto topped with seared shrimp and blistered tomatoes The NRBC Juicy Burger loaded with onion straws and beer cheese Every dish was packed with flavor, and it's easy to see why this spot remains a local favorite. Whether you're stopping in for a craft beer, cocktails, or a hearty meal, this is a place that's always worth the visit.

Service was great and we appreciated the fans at the tables to keep flies away. Didn't get to sample many drinks, however will be back for more! There was not a changing station in the bathroom.

I've also been to the Durham location, check out the review if you want to know more. Panysaurus over all is a very cool place (either location) but they have drastically different vibes - which in my book is a good thing. The Raleigh location has a smaller footprint and doesn't have the same outdoor patio vibe. The dinning area is a bit small but turn around is quick and there is plenty of space to stand and socialize if you're just there for the beer. I really love Ponysaurus beer, their pilsner is nice but their kolsch is my favorite. The Raleigh location menu has lots to choose from, we had a margarita pizza with pepperoni, hummus and wings. I can't recall what was in the hummus but we practically licked the bowl and the wings were a big hit too - note the Durham menu is a bit scaled down but one thing that's consistent with both locations is the amount of pita that came with the hummus. There is nothing worse than getting a huge bowl of hummus and only a few pieces of hummus or chips. Both locations knocked it out of the park - plenty of WARM pita for everyone. Service was great, we did't wait long and the tables were turned over quickly. They use a mobile app for ordering food which makes ordering fast and efficient and the food is delivered to your table - which I must note came out very fast.

I like it there overall but I'm definitely not a fan of the thunder-dome cut throat atmosphere of the "seat yourself" first come first serve...just make a wait list, takes 3 seconds
