It was the first of two in the area like that and I suspect both are run by the town or same person because they have the same paint job. Brown and yellow in a library that appears to be well kept. While I will start off saying none of the books inside during our visit were worth grabbing in our opinions. Though if you are a fan of romance novels this would be an absolute visit for you. On one side they had a few kids books but like I said fans of romance novels get the majority of book space taken up. Although I must say you should be a fan of older novels because they appear to be from an older series titled Love Swept. According to a search online it appears to have 900+ books from a huge variety of authors. So while the genre variety was lacking the library was fully stocked so I assume it must get decent traffic or maybe one person is getting rid of their romance stash. Not for my wife or I but like I said older (80's-90's) romance lovers will enjoy this one.

The third little library we visited in Canton and the second of the two that look alike with yellow…read moreand brown paint that I suspect are run by the same person/group. This may be the least amount of books in a little library I have ever come across. Seems as though it may be one that many people go by and decide to clean it out of all the books. During our visit it had only 4 books. Those being "Binge" by Tyler Oakley, "Bread & Wine", "Fatal Headwind" and lastly "Never Say Die". You'd suspect with so few books it would be difficult to pique our interest but that is incorrect. My wife actually was interested in two of the 4 so 50% isn't bad. She grabbed the two books "Binge" & "Fatal Headwind". In their place she did leave "Fire & Blood" of Game of Thrones and "A Flicker in the Dark". Hopefully someone takes these books to enjoy them instead of other reasons. I feel the need to rate two stars due to the lack of stock of books. I am aware of the slim odds of my wife wanting two books of the four total but it was disappointing to see the little library so empty. Maybe next visit we will see this one full and doing well. These really are a great thing for the community for those who love to read and want to share those books they love with others who will enjoy them!

The last of the little libraries we found and visited in Canton. This particular one can be found…read morenear a bus stop outside of the Department of Social Services building. It's located not too far from Main Street of the downtown area. It looks well maintained which is a plus. It was another little library that was lacking in total number of books during our visit. Maybe we visited shortly after someone took many books without replacing any. For this visit all books besides one or two were all for younger readers. One was a book about The Incredibles and some happy birthday book, then a nursery rhyme and fairy tale book. Then what I would assume is a series called Saranormal and it had books 1 through 3 so someone may be lucky to snag all 3 in one visit. Although someone will likely be happy with grabbing any of these books but for my wife and I it was disappointing during our visit.

This very large free community book box is located in the very small town of Gabriels. Hard to…read moremiss, painted a peach/orange color that stood out against the green of late summer in upstate New York. Doors on front and back reveal shelves. A lot of shelves! Mostly paperbacks with a few retired library books in there on one side, some childrens books and more on the other. Very neatly stacked today. This library does not appear in the Little Free Library database or map. There is (possibly legal) parking in the driveway to the side. Check it out! This *massive* free library is located in front of Hex & Hop where I spent my afternoon with a…read morepizza and two beers and some speedy wifi. Huge with "adult" doors on one side and childrens on the other. Each has three very well packed and nearly stacked books. All sorts, including history, biography, thrillers, religious, retired library books and more. Surely there's something here that interests you for reading in your mountain cabin? There is parking at the brewpub. This library does not appear in the Little Free Library database or map. I don't know who the steward might be. Total professional. Knows exactly what needs to be done, and does it, as though he's reading your…read moremind, but also sees things that need to be done that I haven't noticed! Like a second pair of eyes. Great guy, totally dependable, trustworthy, presentable (lol) can talk to anyone about anything, well spoken, very smart, a joy to work with, works FAST, so I suggested he not charge by the hour!! He just gets it done, period. He's been managing my Air b and b Property while I've been away, inside and out, and dealing with the clients. I don't have one single worry with him there. It's all taken care of, right down to watering the plant in the corner, or finding a dangerous slippery stone or something or other on the path. Always on time or early, and often swings by just to check on me when I'm home. Cannot recommend him more highly!
