Horrible massage and even worse bedside manners. On top of being rude the massage was extremely painful. There as no effleurage or petrissage (basically warming up the muscles before starting). Once I was on the table, he started in on my back with his elbows VERY deeply. He grinded away for a good hour, never letting up. Not relaxing at all. Sweet Jesus. I've been for deep tissue massages before, but nothing like this. I had knots on top of knots, and Paul was a total pro. After spending a long time browsing Yelp and other online reviews, I got in to see Paul. He's pricier than Groupon/other deals, and I'm just starting to make money after many years in grad school, so I always lean to the frugal side. However, after years of ultrarunning, cycling, and mountaineering, I've gotten a serious imbalance and tightness in my left psoas, glutes, hamstrings, ankles... and I needed someone to tear my muscles apart in the best way possible. You know how when you get on the foam roller, and you can only last a few minutes, but you know it's good for you? Paul brings that, and then some, AND he knows what he's doing. He's very personable, laid back, and relatable. The hot packs were great, and although I'm not completely healed after one hour (that would be a miracle), I was looser than I've been in months, and I will definitely return. He also got me in at 1230pm after emailing him at 10am the same day. To be honest, I was a little wary of the reviews on Yelp- after going on his page and reading about how he rewards people for writing good reviews. A bit biased, perhaps? But I think he really just wants people to get the word out, so that he can help as many people as possible, because he honestly is good at what he does. I've been to Massage Envy and a few other chain-sort-of-places, and this was far better. He is the real deal- and I'm glad I took the chance and saw him today. If only I could go for 2 hours every week... but I'll work on stretching and foam rolling until I can manage that financially. I'll definitely be back though. And after looking at too many other massage sites to name, his prices are definitely competitive/reasonable. :) read more

Paul is awesome. I had been hunting for a massage therapist that could get deep into my muscles and provide a skilled therapeutic massage. Paul is the man! He has an excellent deep tissue technique that brings me to the brink of what I can take pressure wise but, not over. He also provides assisted stretching and covers useful stretches to make sure his work sticks. He has excellent, relaxed communication skills going over which muscles he his working on and checking to make sure that the pressure isn't too much. I went to see Paul last week and was extremely pleased that I found him. I like getting a "fluff" massage every once in awhile in a spa to relax, but this is no fluff massage and that's why I love it. Paul is simply wonderful. I found him on Yelp over a year ago, based on phenomenal reviews, and he's been there for me ever since. He's simply fabulous - he'll chat with you at the start of your session to make sure he's clear on any aches, pains, or pinched nerves (yikes!), warms you up with heating pads, and as other reviews have said so well, will take you to the brink of pressure you can handle. Depending, he'll even stretch you out. He's incredibly communicative with you during your session around pressure, specifically if you're working out an injury, and also knows when you need a nice quiet escape. Paul is truly the perfect blend of what I want and need from an LMT - I appreciate the more athletic deep tissue massage, while still feeling relaxing. He is also so easy to book appointments with! Paul is the man....... I visited Paul the end of July, 2015, after an artshow in Bellevue. I know takes me awhile to get to reviews. This one is especially important to me. I am an artist that travels around the country doing art shows. About 30 this year, set up on Thursday, artshow, teardown on Sunday, about 3000 pounds of art, walls tables. For 30 years have had trouble with L5 slipping out. In 2009 I dislocated my hip and it has been worse since then. June 1 at a show in Denver it slipped worse ever, I was flat on the ground, and slow to get better. Did all the treatments from ER to chiro to massage, over and over, then Paul....... He didn't have anyone to see after me and said lets keep trying to get this hip aligned. He got it!!! Now my back curvature is much better. If only he was in Calif....... read more

Went in to see Paul on the advice of a friend who told me how good Paul is and how he would be able to help me. I have had back tightness/pain for years to some degree. The last 2 months my pain was quite high and I could barely bend over to tie my shoes. Paul is very friendly & outgoing. He listened to what my concerns/issues were then went immediately to work. Heated up all the muscles then started working me over. It was a bit painful at first as he got to the core of the problem and really worked out the kinks/unresponsive muscles. Within 10 minutes everything was loosened up he continued to get the entire area relaxed and loose. I thought I would be in real pain the next day but I felt great. I do not typically write reviews but tonight I experinced heaven! I had been dealing with pain near my right hip for weeks. I decided to make an appointment with Paul based on his yelp reviews. Thank you fellow yelp reviewers for not steering me wrong! Paul was able to find the trouble area with ease and gradually work to release the tension causing the pain. I regularly get massages and have not experince of this kind of muscle release in appointments with other LMTs. I highly reccomended Paul for all your known or unknown tight muscle needs. I used to go to the foo foo massage places and left feeling slipppery from oils, but with most of the knots still intact. The first time I went to Paul I was nervous. I'd never been to a deep tissue massage from an actual clinic. I was worried it would hurt too much. Luckily I was very wrong. Paul does a great job noticing how clients react and will adjust as needed. I left not feeling slippery (uses some cream that doesn't stink or leave oil slicks) and many of my knots were gone. :) Best thing is he understands the knots that come from us desk monkeys. So even if you aren't an athelete, he can help. I agree with the other reviewers about how fast, reasonable and friendly he is. I found that the great reviews posted were spot on in every way and had a great experience. Paul comes off as very personable and professional at the same time putting me at ease and relaxed. Suffering from a very complicated set of repetitive stress injuries and muscle dysfunctions, I had expected to require up to a dozen hours of deep tissue work to remobilize me. I was shocked when, two sessions later, I already felt 80% better. Paul is extremely positive and easy to interact with, and most importantly, an hour is an hour. It is not fifteen minutes of useless warm up, and then ten minutes padding to exit the building. It is a full hour of deep tissue mobilizations, and it is worth every penny of the (surprisingly reasonable) price. Paul = Power + Precision. Unlike countless other massage therapists I have tried, Paul can both isolate AND treat. He can quickly find muscular knots and determine whether they are, for example, trigger points or adhesions. And once he isolates the cause, he doesn't cut corners -- he applies the necessary manipulation and pressure that it requires to thoroughly treat it. On my first visit, he immediately located scar tissue from an old back injury and started work on it. A few sessions later, problem solved! After years of useless physical therapy and "massage lite" sessions dancing around the root problem, it took Paul with his know-how, dexterity, and his no-nonsense approach to finally free me of the muscle adhesions that were responsible for the pain and swelling. Because of his extensive knowledge of muscular anatomy and physiology, he knows how to work muscles around the problem area that may be contributing to the pain (such as tight hamstrings pulling on lower back muscles). Also, he educates you about what's going on with your muscles and ligaments, and he recommends exercises and stretches to help you maintain flexibility. Paul is a gem. And, as another reviewer said, worth every penny. Wow, best deep tissue massage ever. Was in Bellevue for 2 days and hadn't been to my regular therapist in 2 weeks.. Emailed Paul late on Thursday night and he responded immediately. I've been looking for this kind of care for awhile. Paul is awesome. Works the areas needed and understands how to get release from chronically tight muscles. The work is intense, but appreciated and best of all, he takes my feedback and works to the pressure I need or want. I love that he will spend the time in areas that need it rather than squeezing in everything and that he helps lengthen the muscles by including stretching. Unprofessional. Paul and I scheduled and confirmed a 90 minute massage for the next morning. I waited outside the front door of the building because the door was locked. I texted Paul 10 minutes before the appointment was to begin. I continued to wait and called Paul 10 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. He did not respond to my text or voicemail nor did he call to tell me he needed to cancel or reschedule. This is a very disapointing experience. read more
